Title: ruger speed six
Post by: jackelope on August 22, 2008, 08:18:00 PM
i have found what i think is a good-great deal on one of these wheel guns...anybody have any experience with these? it's a .357 magnum. i have not seen it yet but the guy thinks it is a 4" barrel or thereabouts...
i think i will pick it up either way, just wondering if anyone knows much about them. i have a couple ruger weapons and  like them all, but the only pistol i have is a stainless single six .22 convertible.

thanks

I've got a Security six, which is the same thing except it has adjustable sights. These are a very sturdy .357. Just like all Rugers. That speed six will be perfect for when your out predator hunting down in the Blues, and a cougar or wolf showes up.

I don't know what you are paying, but$275 seems to be a pretty common price.

I've got a security six that my father bought new ~25yrs ago.
Extremely well made, sweet revolver. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat--even though I don't *need* another....  :)

I've got a Security Six in 357 beautiful gun. Very well made. I don't know how it shoots though. It was inherited and has never been fired!!! In the box with receipt and 1 box of shell's that were purchased with the gun. It's around 30 years old? I believe they were first manufactured in 1971.

I own a security-six and the police service six.  They are basically the same frame, but the sec-6 has adjustable sights, the police service-6 are fixed, and the speed six is fixed sights and rounded butt.  They are fantastic guns and super reliable.

I really like em' and wish I had more of them in different bbl configurations.  I've regret selling one with a 6" bbl and one with a 2 3/4" bbl.

Post some pics when you get it!
