Is the late season for archery (nov. 21 to dec. 28th in my unit) Is it pretty good hunting? Is the rut pretty much over? Im hunting blacktail. thanks fellas!
-
Yea the rut is pretty much over. But you may be able to get a late rutting buck to come into a call.
Best of luck,
Cody

so the odds of them not being completely nocturnal will still be decent?
-
Late season plus bad weather means you can find a big one anytime of the day.

:yeah: the nastier the weather the longer I want to be out, and when a bad weather front is moving in they seem to know it and try to stock up great time to be in the woods, or a field's edge as it maybe
-
they go into a 2nd rut around thanksgiving... missed a shot at a good bt last year who had his nose up a doe's @ss. Pray for no frost on the ground and try to be out there as much as you can regardless of the weather being good or bad (bad is good)

I should have said the "unpregnated" does go into a 2nd eustrus cycle around thanksgiving which the bucks then hone in on
-
ok good to know thanks guys.
