Who here is now thinking that they might be hunting out of state next year because of all the fires this season? Many of my good spots are being torched as we speak so I might be hunting elsewhere for a few years... :bash:
-
I have been watching my spots in both Idaho and Montana and so far they are both untouched... *knock on wood*

I'll be going out of state as the normal. Don't even do much hunting in Wa anymore. Love the out of state. I leave in 3 weeks for a 5 week trip.

If you can afford to go out of state it is well worth it.
-
I don't have the money for out of state, so I'll still be stuck here, hunting in the rain forest. :)

If you were ever going to hunt in this state then next year would be the year to do it. With the fires come new food growth in the spring. If we get another wet spring there should be lots of early foliage for antler/horn growth. :twocents:

It took a couple of fires for you to decide to go out of state was a better idea :chuckle: :chuckle:

Adios Amigos! You really are'nt a Wash hunter till you've suffered here for a decade!

I have "suffered" in this state for almost two decades now so I believe I am a Washington hunter.

I have hunted here for over 20 years there is some fantastic hunting however most of that us all draw hunts. General seasons are for the most part a joke compared to other states.

Man you guys that go out of state must have some bucks. I know it isn't cheap. Heading to Minnesota for archery on Tuesday for 8 days. Total so far with tag, flight and car rental is $600. I am lucky enough that I have family back there and staying with them. If I hunt out of state again it will be back there. Oh and the prime hunting spots like MT, ID, UT, NM places like that they are all also in extreme fire danger too.

Agreed it is expensive but I already spend a few hundred dollars here for all my tags and special permit applications etc. Why not spend a few hundred extra for a quality experience? In my eyes it is worth it...
