Friday morning we, the family and I, head on our trek down to SE OR to pick up our new little golden girl. Still battling over a name, but I think one should meet the pup first to decide. Here is a photo, maybe of the one we'll be getting. We will have first choice of the two darker girls that have tested the best for birdiness and whatever they test for at that age.

Sweet! Only two days until mine are all GONE!!! :chuckle: I'm ready for a break. The little ones are a ton of work but, still a ton of fun.

Been there, done that, with two litters. We had to get one back after a no-pay, we called him Repo. :chuckle: Those little guys are a blast to watch grow up, but definitely a relief to see them go to good homes. I think Loki was happy to see them all go as well. :chuckle:

One hour to the boat ride and 11 hour drive to our new family member. Thank goodness we know people along the way to stay with.

Have a safe trip.

I got two pups left, you could pick one up on your way down and then you'll have a dog to go chase them pesky coons on the island. Two pups is better than one ;)

:yike: Two is like 4X the work.... Thanks, but no thanks. :chuckle: You can come up and chase coons this winter though.
Here are a few pics of the new girl. Her name is Amber. She is 54 days old today. We picked her up in SE OR yesterday and had a great drive up to Vancouver, WA with her. She traveled well, slept most of the way and no car sickness. Last night she stayed in her kennel in the mother in law's garage. There was a little whining, but not bad. No accidents as we got up every couple of hours and took her out. Today, she started out in the kennel in the back of the truck and pretty much slept quietly on the drive. Then she got to hang out with us and go on her first boat ride.

Well, she's sleeping through the night. And, only one accident in the house. She's starting to respond more to her name and chase a ball around. She's also filled out a bit and seems a healthier weight as she was kind of skinny when we got her.
She plays hard, and sleeps hard.
We tried to find a dark one, I think it worked.

Puppy update....
Well, she is learning the word "NO!" She likes to chew a lot, doesn't seem to mind the rosemary oil anti-chewing spray. She still sleeps a lot and has pretty much figured out how to ask to go outside. She has learned to not mess with the little silky rooster. :chuckle: She seems to like to retrieve her squeaky toy and will bring it back and release it fairly easily.
We were playinjg a couple nights ago and I came across a laser pointer, the video is the result oif that. Enjoy.
