If you have plans on hunting the 578 for MF deer season, I would suggest you know were you are at and who's land you are on. All of the private timber company land is shut down and all the the GPNF in this unit is closed to all access. There will be a heavy patrol happening on said lands throughout the hunting season. ITs a pretty expensive tip if you are found on closed lands. Just thought you all should know.

i am headin down there this weekend for elk pending the scouting report. bummer all the company land is closed but hoping for an easy elk out of the field we'll see. pretyy smoky and dry from what i hear. anyone know if the road from randall is open?

Western Pacific Timber has lots of land in there as well as Grayback. Major bummer. Everyone will be hitting the DNR land.

Dont recall ever seeing a National Forrest shut down??

The fire's pretty close, I was on DNR land Sunday and had ash on my truck when I left. My second deer tag might go un-used.
