There are several different bow fishing reel retrevial systems. Is there any that are more problematic to use? I have never bow fished but I just bought my son a Diamond Razor Edge and want to go next year. We saw a ton of carp at Pot Holes and it looked like a good way to get him some real shooting practice. Thanks for the advice.

The bottle reels by ams are they way to go. The spinner reels can be faster for like the tournament guys but can also be more problematic as well. Forget to push the button and you have a :yike: moment. I run bottles on all my client bows and personal bows. They are the safest and work the best

Carpsniper's right on. Start with the bottle, safe easy to use, and easy to get used to. However, once you touch a spinner though I'm afraid you'll never go back. All my "guest" bows have bottles and they work everyday flawlessly. Make sure if your shooting a fast bow like that to shoot an appropriate spined arrow. Otherwise the reel won't matter. :)
