Just why in the hell should we kill all of our animal when we can kill all of yours :yeah:

So does that mean that people west of the cascades are only allowed to hunt blacktails and east sider's can only hunt mule deer and whitetails?
Maybe you should write the wdfw and tell them to propose a fee if you apply for a permit of the opposite side of the cascades in which you reside.
Note: I live on the eastside and drew an eastside tag.

No kidding. How are our critters ever going to reach maturity if we hunt them as much as we do those silly dry side critters.
This in all honesty is a funny post. Makes me wonder how Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Alaska and the like feel about out of towners... :chuckle: :chuckle: But then again, I know they deal with it by hunting harder.

I just hunt escape routes. I let the coasties push the deer right to me :chuckle: Oh and thank you to all you that run around in the dark with your flashlights and atvs at 4 am through the sage brush. The deer can see you :bash:

Yea, well once you sell a cord of firewood to your neighbor for $200 and buy a cord from your other neighbor for $175, you may be able to get a couple gallons of gasoline to put into your 1974 POS flatbed half ton chev, multi colored of course. Thats assuming of course you can get it started. Then you may be able to get to one of the good spots, but it won't do you any good, because a westsider is going to have your tag! :chuckle:
Hey Armadillo, that disguise wont work. The door on that chev is the same color as the rest of the truck.

i normally see all the wetsiders that come to hunt deer in the blues headin back sunday afternoon so im good with them :tung:
-
90% ? You may be right. But that is only because 90% of westsiders can read the regulations, as opposed to 10% of eastsiders. :chuckle:

its ok, ill stay on this side and kill branch bulls every year! have fun spike huntin!

They tell there friends and then they come over TOO! Its so scenic and relaxing and everyone is so nice. blah, blah blah. In reality it gives everyone on the east a big headache. :chuckle:

This topic cracks me up :chuckle:
Live on the westside...family(s) own ranches near walla walla ....cabin the the blues.
Does that mean I have to hunt out of state :dunno: :chuckle:
-
The eastside tags suck, I was in my beachfront seattle coastie loft last year and I drew a Desert buck tag and a colockum big bull tag. Took my subaru out there for the weekend to hunt those deer in the desert unit. Didnt see anything, no deer over there :dunno: Same went with the elk tag, I drove up into the colockum as far as my subaru wagon would go (about a quarter mile past the gate). It was kinda windy so I didnt really get out of the car. Man I hunted hard and didnt get anything except with my camera took some nice shots of wildflowers. After that I went back to seattle to my job at starbucks. But at least I had my ipad to watch movies driving over I 90, really kills time for those long boring drives!
:chuckle:
-
The answer is really easy. 90% of the population lives in the West side and 10% on the east. If 90% of the people are putting in from the west side it only makes mathematical sense that 90% of the tags will be given to them. Just think on the bright side. In most hunting and fishing situations 10% of the people usually get 90% of the fish and game. How many times have you seen the occasional guy that gets a buck every year or the guy that gets the stealhead or salmon everytime he goes compared to the many guys that go our over and over again and hardly get anything. That's whats nice about living on the east side of Washington. When you do get a tag you will actually probably get your animal. This is due to the inside info and close proximity to the hunting areas. It also has to do that us eastsiders are more attractive and have better looking wives. OK so I went a little bit overboard but it was kind of fun. Happy hunting to all (east and west)
-
:chuckle: Really was gona hit this one hard, but see everyone mostly poking fun at so wont do much else.
My dad on the other hand would of slammed this one hard as hell, was his pet peeve I think.
I've actually wanted ot hunt the west side hit those Rosevelts, and Blacktails too. Mainly would love to go to the Olympics sometime.
damnet my eastside pic wont post dang!
So this is posted without a seattleite sorry.
-
your right dvolmer except for the last few words. 10% get90% of the time. And yes my grammer is from eastern origin!

:cryriver:
-
So, the takeaway is that west-siders support 90% of the 10% of the game management that takes place in the east side as well as provide financial support to some of the local communities that depend on revenue from hunters?
You're welcome.
We have to support all those toothless, slack-jawed, inbred hillbillies somehow. Oh, and thanks for all these shiny new sports stadiums. We'll give you some more Gregoire (or Inslee. What's the difference?), free-flowing pot, and gay marriage come November as a further show of appreciation.

Do you need a hug? I live in Washington and drew a Washington bull tag. It took me 9 years to do so. Happy hunting!
-
Does this make you eastsiders all restricted from any wetside fishing? :dunno:
These damn rules are so confusing >:(
Guess I can stop putting in for my goat and moose tags now! Restricted access for anyone with all their teeth.
-
I didn't know you eastsiders knew what percentages were...

I heard banjos up in them woods one time, never went back! :yike: :bdid: :chuckle:

Actually you have it backwards, the westsiders catch all our fish!!! Where do you think most of the fish in the columbia are going?
-
I would be okay with people having to pay more to hunt or fish the opposite side of the state they live on. I hunt and fish all around where i live. Wouldn't hurt me a bit. I'll tell you what'd be better is if the state would just split into two states. Then we could have east Washington and west Washington. And east Washington could have a wolf season and not give a dam about what the tree huggin wet siders have to say.
-
i will take a big blacktail and a branched bull way before a muley or whitetail, or a spike bull, so i guess i will be the very small percentage that hunts the not so wetside, besides i would hate to waste the gas money drivin over the pass  :chuckle: WESTSIDERS RULE....
-
Just remember to rule in the voting booth. You westsiders are going to ruin the eastside. :chuckle:

As A wetsider I would like to take this opportunity to thank 100% of u drysiders for ur generou$ $upport of our beautiful puget sound cruise ships.
-
I dont use those either. I went to Seattle for the first time last year. I'll never go back. There is nothing on the wetside that I need. God blessed the eastside and that's where ill stay!
-
Hunting the eastside is like going to your brother in laws house. You get to go mess up his place, watch his nice new 60" plasma, drink all his beer, play with his kids, spoil them, teach them things they ought not to know, "CSI" the guest bedroom and generally make everyone there glad that you'll be leaving at the end of the weekend.
-
Hmm,
all those toothless, slack-jawed, inbred hillbillies with great weather, Mule deer, were the seasons actually change, Mule deer, were rain gear is an after thought, and did I say Mule deer?
VS
All those toothless, slack-jawed, inbred methmagots that steal anything that can be sold to a recycler, black tail deer, 3-point or better elk, two seasons - almost summer and rain,
Where rain gear and Birkenstock with woolsocks and those stupid looking hats with the dangling dingle balls are a fashion statement, and protesters who protest by twitter on their iPads that they want more free stuff, while crapping on the sidewalk. Where they welcome anarchists with open arms then complain about the damage they do after they leave.
Yep this is one Wetsider that can't wait to be an eastsider so I can also complain about all the rusty people who come over and shoot our deer.
Until then I will continue my October commute to Winthrop from Puyallup, not really that much different then my daily commute to Kent.
But a whole lot nicer scenery.
:hello:

There is alot more to the westside than seattle.I live about two hours from Seattle.I live further out of town than say someone that lives in Selah or Naches.I also do not like Seattle, but there is parts of the tri-cities,Yakima,Moses lake and spokane that i'm not going to hang out either. The people that live in the Ellensburg are just as close to Seattle as me.My family lives on the eastside and i grew up hunting on the eastside. You do not own the whole state.I'm not rude to the many fisherman that i run into from the eastside ,when i'm fishing at Neah bay or seiku or Westport and those salmon are never going to the eastside.Quit Whining

Yeah....I'm not sure how to even respond. :dunno:

Except our tax dollars of course.
Oh, and the revenue we generate for your local community when we travel east.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a WINNER! A separated East/West Washington would be interesting in a post-colonialism sort of way, but do we really want a third-world state as a neighbor? Nah.
-
I think 90% of Eastsiders would take their chances on becoming a 3rd world country if it meant keeping true "coasties" out. I also think Eastern Washington would be much better off if the East side had a voice in what goes on in Eastern Washington, and not ruled by Democratic agenda. Eastern Oregon is in the same boat. Lots of good Westsiders in both states, but we just don't have the votes to budge the urban population. I would like to joint teams with Eastern Oregon and make a state, and let the Western OR & WA make their own state. They could let loose all the lions and wolves they want, and let the East side make our own rules.
-
Lumping eastern WA into Idaho has my vote.
-
We only do it to hear the whiney little girls complain about it. After all, we have Rosies to hunt. Guess it's working!

Same kind of sentiment is on the far reaches of the westside. Probably just as upset about pugetropolis rule as E worshington. A lot of the westside wants hounds/baiting back and subarus gone, too.
There is a story of a senator (henry Jackson I think) that was meeting with another candidate at the lounge up in the space needle and said...'look around, from here you can see all the votes you'll ever need!'

I hear you JimmyHoffa, lots of good folks on the Westside away from "Pugetropolis". Sure is a different way of life in the big citys.

i am from the not so wetside and absolutly love it, you couldnt pay me to live in eastern washington, where ya got scrub brush that you call trees, thats why 90% of the people there have to pay through the nose for a cord of wood, and sorry to say but there aint to much that is beutiful about the eastside except parts of the north east and the blues, the rest of it is desolet wasteland that you would see in a holocast movie.....BUT i will be the first to say that we as a whole should blow seattle right off the friggin map along with the tree huggin leaf lickers, but no worries eastsiders i will be more than happy to stay on the not so wetside and look at these monsters trees and the elusive blacktail and heat my house for free with just a little work cutn my firewood.....
-
Probably not the time to talk about all the Eastside Elk tags I still have cause I had to cancel the trip over the Pass...

Why the hell is everyone on the westside considered a "coastie"? I live in Thurston County (in the country), hate liberals, hate the majority of voters in this state, but get labeled as a coastie because I live west of the Pacific Crest Trail. Hell, it takes me an hour and a half to get to the coast............I usually don't see the coast more than once every other year.......... :dunno:
Anyway, that rant is over. :sry: Somebody already said the answer to the OP question.........there are more applicants from the westside, so there are more people that draw eastside elk permits that are "coasties". (Did I say yet how much I hate that term?) :P
-
I live in Washington, I don't claim one side is better than the other and don't consider myself a visitor when I cross the pass and don't consider others visitors when they cross the pass the other way. All my vehicles have enough horsepower to make it over with no extra effort so I don't even notice it other than the scenery change, the firs change to pines, and my ears pop a bit. I don't understand the need to separate the state by choosing east elk vs west elk. Well there is one thing that gets me a little bit, COUGS SUCK, GO DAWGS!!!!!!
-
but do we really want a third-world state as a neighbor? Nah.
Considering how well armed that third world country is, and how much food it has, I would be nicer. :)
-
Guess I need to start buying more eastside tags. I did not know they were easier to draw :chuckle:
-

Not only that, but apparently there are far less people over there and lots of room to hunt!

Everyone forgot ALL the farming that goes on in ewa. I would and do rather have my kids grown up farming and know what a hard days living is than sit in a cubicle wishing I didnt have to drive 1and ahalf hours to go only 3 mile to home. Only wishin about vacation east to relax, tear it up,party all night and LEAVE, Left for someone else to clean up. I know more multi millionaires over hear to shake a stick at! They earned it the tough way! This ranks right up there with californians. Leave us in peace!

You are an F'ing idiot. You seriously believe this idiotic nonsense that you are typing? I thought at first, ha ha, I'll go along, he has some points, but now you are just sounding like a complete *censored*! Do you really think that everyone on the west side lives in Seattle? Did you have any maps at the school you went to? You should have learned a little Washington state history in your senior year, aka 8th grade. How about farming over here? How about the logging industry? I mean logging, not cutting those little peckerpole pines you guys have over there with your little homelites. Don't you guys over there just survive by selling firewood to each other? Have a good day. Oh, and by the way, I may see you over there at the end of November while I'm hunting with my late season muley tag! Could you get me directions to the desert unit? :chuckle:
Oh and by the way genius, its " I know more multi millionares than I could shake a stick at" not "to shake a stick at" If you do that, they wont let you hunt on their wheat field. :hello:
-
This kills me. Why don't you just split the state into two states. We all live in Washington. You complaining about a bunch of knuckle heads that aren't even on the forum. I would think that more than 90% of anyone on this site would be like the knuckle heads your talking about. Quit your complaining and go hunting.

I agree, Russ. Quit complaining and go hunting...on the East side!!!! :chuckle: :chuckle:

Come on guys, you know those wetsiders aren't over here to hunt. They are over here trying to catch a glimpse of their beloved wolves :chuckle:

Ha ha ah....if this bothers you, you should have seen the old days of the annual Coastal Road Hunter invasion.
Heres a secret: SSSHH. More elk are killed on the wet side than the eastside. shhhhhhhhhh

Shhhh.....don't clue them in. Next thing you know the eastsiders will get a clue and give-up hunting spikes and head to the westside for big bulls. 8) (But they are probably afraid of a little rain........so that won't happen) :chuckle:

Why spend $500 on gas and drive 4 hours to hunt big bulls in the rain when I can spend $500 on an Idaho tag and drive 1 hour to hunt big bulls in the sun?

Shhhh.....don't clue them in. Next thing you know the eastsiders will get a clue and give-up hunting spikes and head to the westside for big bulls. 8) (But they are probably afraid of a little rain........so that won't happen) :chuckle:
Why spend $500 on gas and drive 4 hours to hunt big bulls in the rain when I can spend $500 on an Idaho tag and drive 1 hour to hunt big bulls in the sun?
I agree. If I lived in Spokane, I would never buy a WA hunting license ever again........I'd be hunting Idaho for deer, elk, chukar, etc.
-
Probably not the time to talk about all the Eastside Elk tags I still have cause I had to cancel the trip over the Pass...
:bdid: :nono: :spank_butt:
Better go vote again for that sarcasm font :chuckle:

Your an idiot LINK! Your from the wetside and know it. JUST STAY AWAY and Ill be happy along with thousands of others! pretty easy! what more to say. If elk are so much bigger and trees are so much larger than why leave? You have it All over there. Why Invade us like african bees?

A John Deere S-Series combine, just like everyone else on the dry side. Takes about 17 hours to get to Seattle in it but man, 540 horsepower!!! Yeee-haawww!!!!

No. I think I'll be coming over there next month. Maybe we could meet up and have a beer. :chuckle: You sure get riled up don't you. I think someone said it earlier, but your wife must have left you for someone from Bellevue. I can't imagine that very many people over there think the way that you do. Have a good one dbag.

OK this thread is killing me! Two questions. Will this thread hit 15 pages? Does it taste better when you take it back across to the west side?
Shut up and go hunt the west side!

I thought that all of the Deer and Elk as a resource should be enjoyed by all citizens in Washington east, west, north, south, hunters and non-hunters. :yike:

I live in Washington, I don't claim one side is better than the other and don't consider myself a visitor when I cross the pass and don't consider others visitors when they cross the pass the other way. All my vehicles have enough horsepower to make it over with no extra effort so I don't even notice it other than the scenery change, the firs change to pines, and my ears pop a bit. I don't understand the need to separate the state by choosing east elk vs west elk. Well there is one thing that gets me a little bit, COUGS SUCK, GO DAWGS!!!!!!
:yeah:

Oh I don't doubt that for a minute. I live over on the west side and I can't stand the liberal ways of this area. I can only imagine how east siders must feel about the policies, laws and taxes that they (you) have to put up with and living across the state, feel that you get no representation or benefit from them. I just have a problem with this dbag coming on here and telling "everyone" from the west side to stay away. What sense does this make? I will argue and banter with this fella until he either goes away or admits how much of a *censored* he is. :chuckle:

If a ballot measure came up that could possibly put an end to hunting in this state, I'm willilng to bet you 2 would vote the same way and would fight together against the measure.
All of us would.
We're all on the same team at the end of the day, regardless of personal opinions about hillbillies or Starbucks (or in this case, who has bigger trees to log :dunno:). It would be nice if some of you could realize that and step up to help the team out :twocents:

I cant figure out what side to take on this. I live in Eastern WA but live in West Richland. This has effected me so that I cant figure where or who I am. I think I will skip opening day deer season and seek help from a professional therapist. Do any of you here have anyone they know that can refer me to get some help? To make it worse I am left handed and shoot a right handed gun! Boy do I need help!!!

Your doing fine Dvolmer. Lefties that shoot right handed guns are just talented. At least that's what I keep telling myself. :chuckle: But if you ever catch yourself shooting a bow right handed, then you may need to seek professional help. :chuckle:

Fishingnut I dont see why you are getting pissed off. They call it (PUBLIC LAND) :dunno: for a reason smart one so quit your bitchin and another thing. The only reason why your so pissed is because us westsiders actually work hard and pay MONEY something you probably dont have and we actually get drawn for Elk, Deer, Moose, etc. we get the animals. But since your Lazy ass cant drive down the road and shoot it off the road your pissed. I have said my peace.

I don't know how smart it is arguing with a person that is completely insane. I may end up with my house burnt down over this. Hell, I bet when I come over next month,.. FOR MY LATE SEASON MULEY HUNT,.. there may be a road block at the top of Snoqualmie pass. Good night Fingernut. :chuckle:
Oh Jesus. I just did a quick search on this guy and low and behold what came up on the first page.... This guy asking about information on deer hunting in Idaho! WTF? What do you think the guys in Idaho think of you "west siders"? Whatever man. :chuckle:
-
Didn't believe it until I seen it lol East really does wan't to seccede lol cool.
As a fyi I do remember when you didnt have to chose east side or westside you just hunted elk and could actually go wherever.
I do remember too coming accross elk that had been shot. Was more likely mistook for a Mule deer Since the deer season was just the week before.
A westerner er coasite was blamed but never knew who actually.
This was more than 15 years ago but I still remember it.
For me it's not that much an issue, but understand it.
Not sure if the author is that mad or just killing time until opener my guess is a bit of both. :IBCOOL:
Go hunt!
Oh ya go Cougs :tung:

WOW! Did I just waste 15mins of my life reading this entire post? lol. Fishingnut, you are an idiot and making all us eastsiders look bad. In case you haven't noticed, we have lots of liberals and tree huggers living on this side also. Hunt where you want and fish where you want, we all live in the same DAMN state. Let's all get along and pull on the same end of the rope.
I can't believe how many of you guys fishingnut took down with him, some of you are acting as bad as he is and saying all the same kind of BS. Ignore him and move on or he will drag you all down the same road he is living on. What a *censored*!

It has been a little fun pulling his chain, but I must admit that this thread is a prime example of why we can't come together to beat things like the wolf plan and work to have more reasonable hunting opportunities. There are many on this forum who work hard to maintain what privileges we have to hunt. They stay in the face of our representatives and the DFW to try and un-f*&% the programs and regulations which limit our opportunities. All that work can go down the drain with a split in our base and frivolous arguments like these. Hunting will eventually die in N. America, not because of the greenies, but because of our inability to congeal as a force against these extremists. We could beat them back if we banded together. I'm afraid it seems impossible for that to happen.
Have fun on your east side, Fishingnut. When we have nothing to hunt, it won't be the fault of the westsiders or the greenies. It'll be a lack of cooperation from within our own ranks.
-
I am hoping that alot of it was in jest or just burning time before the weekend. I think that most of it was in fun. Sort of like poking fun at your best friend around the campfire. Since there are no fires allowed right now.....

No problem fishingnut I understand where your coming from but when it goes to coasties to westsiders im on the westside. I dont wanna be because people cant drive here and traffic sucks and theres too much gang violence. I was venting also. Sorry if you took it personal

What about all the dollars that are brought to the Eastside of the state when Fishing and Hunting Seasons are open. I mean just think of the gas, food, lodging, equipment purchased etc. I would think that local businesses like the redistribution of money spent in all of the smaller communites.
-
A warm and fuzzy feeling just swept through the air, group hug.

:yeah: I know that I went to a small restaurant on the East side and the waitress asked us why we were in camo (knowing were weren't from around there). We told her that it was turkey season, and she got very excited!

This whole thing is funny. I'm an eastsider and have been hunting elk on the west side for the last 10 years. Way better archery opportunities, far less hunters and much better numbers in MHO. The folks over there are just as teratorial, thinking those are "their elk". Grass is always greener I suppose!

that all depends on what folks you talk to, we have are backwoods tothless hillbillies just like the eastside, how have you done the past 10 years over here on the not so wetside? there are good oppurtunities for good bulls over here and definatly alot less bow hunters, you should see it during the rifle season, it is insane, especially around saint helens, ya go to keep your head down thats for sure, good luck dude in the late season if you didnt connect in the early season, the only elk i consider mine are the big boys that hang out in my back yard.....those bulls are off limits :chuckle:

Let me get this back on track....
Eastside guys don't know how to hunt. We're coming over to show you how in t minus 12hrs. LOL :chuckle:

I started all this so why not finish it. Im thinkin were all hunters here. am I right? I didnt realize it at first but we are ALL in the same small canoe with PETA on one side, Dirt lickers onthe other. were trapped on what we can do! Nice!! There you go guys, all is better now and we are all getting along again. West side or east side it just doesn't matter if we all stick together and focus on the real issues that are going to kill our great sport. No everyone get out there this weekend and knock something down for the freezer. Good luck to all, be safe and for DAMN sake's don't burn us down. :)

This goes to say at times my ranting to the right people does see good results from those that know for who, what and believe in

Did i read correctly you are in or around coulee city and hunt the clockum? So you drive west to hunt?? :chuckle:
-
NO. I live in ewa and stay in ewa.
-
If you draw a line right down the middle of the state, i mean right down the middle, same distance from between the most west point and the most east point, where is the clockum? East or west of that line? The true ewa is not the cascade mountains is it?
