I was at high mountain hunting today looking at the badlands 2200 and the 2800 decided I like the 2200 better. It was 259.99. Anyone have experience with the pack or know a place where I can get a good deal?

Amazon and Dick's have the best deals right now ($220). I researched the 2200 pretty hard. It has some zipper quality issues. Youtube has a couple of thorough review of the pack. I went with the Alps OutdoorZ Pursuit pack for $70 and it treated me right for the early hunt this year.

I run the badlands 2200, I don't think it is quite enough for multi day hunts, but works real well packing meat out for day trips into the backcountry. Have packed 3 bears out with it this year. It holds 75 ibs real comfortably in my opinion. I have packed out as much as 94 ibs with it, but at that weight it all rested on my shoulders. Keep an eye out for a used one, I paid $125 for mine from another member, was in new condition...

I love my 2200. For me its as close to a perfect daypack as I can find. If looking new, Amazon. Or ebay. Unless you are not in a hurry and can wait for a deal to pop up on camofire or a sale. But you can also find great deals on used if willing to go that route. Often mor than 50% off price of new.... Badlands, archery talk, rokslide, ebay are a couple places to check out if going used is an option.

If your dead set on the 2200 Cabelas has then on sale right for for 199.88...I bought the super day pack on Ebay for 145.00 so if your not in a hurry keep an eye on Ebay!!!

I packed in enough for 7 days in my 2200, right at 72 lbs. My hunting partner did carry the tent tho, but i could have made it fit. We packed in 10 miles. Paid $100 for mine used only a couple times.
