:mor: why the hell People head to the woods the day before hunting season open and then decide to sight there gun in up in the area they are going to hunt tomorrow is beyond me nothing like spooking the deer out of there I mean its not just one shot or two it like the whole box of ammo ?! I am glad I head up so far from people some times lol but still can hear it miles away while I sit hear glassing for tomorrow morning oh well
-
Gotta love it. :chuckle: Most of them can't hit anything anyway. I can't even recall over the years the amount of deer I have watched people miss where I hunt.

Better today than some *censored* gut shooting one tomorrow because he hasn't sighted in his brand new gun that he had bore sighted last week.
-
Hell, just a couple of weeks ago, we were up shooting, a guy next to us burned up 4 20 round magazines in an AR. We headed out, and about a mile away were 5 LEGAL muley bucks... all feeding, and acting like no human ever was around.
The traffic going in on the roads will have more to do with spooking them, than someone target shooting.

what about the guy getting his gun bore sighted this afternoon that was pretty awesome :chuckle: :chuckle:

Haha! I know a guy that bought a scope the night before the season, had them bore sight it. Then in the morning he killed a bull elk at a 150 yards or so with a pocket full of miss matched 7 Mag ammo. Put two right on the money and jammed that bull in the dirt. SOME PEOPLES LUCK! :chuckle:

Yes, there is nothing quite like the modern rifle deer opener.
Good luck to everyone :hello:
Stay safe!

Nope, you just need a quality bore sighter.

I was in Wally world today when I over heard a guy buying a new rifle ask the sales :bdid: guy behind the counter if it was sighted in because he didn't have enough time to do it before tomorrow. :bash:

Roads out in the woods are scary. I came off the mountain this evening with my child, and it was not a fun experience. People are FLYING to get to that camp spot. :yike:

I had a guy call me today & asked if I would site in his Rifle for him. :yike: Hell he's not leaving to go hunt until next Thurs & he's not working this weekend so I guess he just doesn't want to bother with it. :dunno: Anyway if somebody wants me to shoot their gun & supply the Ammo why not I guess. :bfg:

It's becuse of "dumb people" I went to bow hunting for very many years. One rifle season I was cleaning a spike bull when this guy comes up to me and says, "so THAT"S an elk"? Made me very nervous packing it out. I think that maybe they should give a basic IQ test before you get a hunting tag.

I was up at my place in 121 this evening (where I'm ironically not going to be hunting this weekend due to soccer obligations) checking trail cams. Property next to mine sounded like a warzone :bash: Never heard it like that before.
Funny thing is, after a quick hike down into a canyon to check a cam, a little buck came walking in WHILE I was pulling the SD card and WHILE the barrage of gunfire was going on up above and less than 1/4 mile away. I honestly think he was trying to ask me what the hell was going on - all I could do was look at him, say "hey, I have several pictures of you .... at midnight ......" then look uphill towards the gunfire, back at him, and shrug my shoulders.
He casually vanished into the brush. The gunfire continued as I hiked back to my truck

True That!!

Say what you will, but I have personally witnessed deer not be affected in the least by gun fire noise. At any one time my pasture / range has deer in it and I shoot all the time and they don't even get out of their beds. Accustomed to shooting? Don't know but I don't hunk the gunfire scares them unless it is AT them. :twocents:

I was in a local sporting goods store yesterday (Friday) morning. While I was waiting to buy my stuff, there was a guy at the gun counter buying a brand new rifle. He was in route to go hunting in Eastern WA for the opener and wanted to know if they could laser bore sight it for him because he didn't have time to sight it in himself. I see this every, single year! And you wonder why there are so many wounded and left to die critters in the woods. :bash: :bash:

I'd sight it in for him :chuckle: and make sure he can't hit anything. That might teach someone a valuable lesson.
