Title: Need a little advice
Post by: dkecoleman on October 20, 2012, 08:06:17 PM
My 11 year old nephew just moved up here from California and is dying for me to take him, with me hunting, The problem I have is, I hunt on hancock land (kapowsin) and since he doesn't live in my household, I can't take him with me. I'm not fimilar with any other place around here either. So my question is, if you were going to try somewhere new, within a few hours of Orting, where would it be? It would be nice to have a chance at a deer but I'm sure it will just end up being a hike, (he won't know the difference) I was thinking about heading over Hwy 410 into Little Naches or the bumping or at least the east slope somewhere, any ideas?

I believe the mule deer hunt ends this weekend, so I would try the vail area. I've never been their myself but I hear a lot about it, I'm sure guys on here can tell where it is and the rules with the place. Lots of deer in the vail area from what I heard. Next year put his name on your hancock permit as your child, guys do it all the time just don't tell them he's not your kid.
