Up and back + fees + licenses + tips + new equipment + taxidermy = oops, I just smoked my calculator.

OMG! Some Day!!!! My Gpa used to go to Canada once a year for Moose when I was REAL young... Love Moose Meat!!! This Bull is gorgeous and very unique. Congrats!
-
I live and breathe Moose, and that one is just COOL!
-
Is it as hard to get a tag in other states or Canada as it is here in Wa, or is it just because what we have is in such a small area of land?.... I would love to go one day! I have a gma that lives in chewelah... after years of runnin all over that part of the state, I know just where to find em, but with WDFW raising permit raffle fee's astronomically, who knows now....
-
Yes and no. AK is as easy as pie, Idaho is easier than Washington with better draw odds but will cost you. Canada its just about having some money. Utah, is as hard or harder to draw, Wyoming takes time, about 12 years or more of applying, Co you have to apply for 3 years before even eligible, then it becomes much like Washington and expensive. Montana probably a little easier than Washington, that being said I haven't drawn it yet....
-
Canadian tags are available over the counter, but you have to have a guide. The hard part is picking a guide and what kind of a moose you want to go for. After that just open your check book and shut your eyes.
-
what about vasiline?
-
How long does it typically take to draw anything in Wa? Do they stil use the point system deal....?
-
what about vasiline?
No Vaseline. The burn reminds me of what a good time I had.

-
great looking bull what was it's weight?
-
About 300lbs of boned out meat. It was right at the end of rut and it looked like he had lost a lot of weight. Not to mention he was beat to hell.
-
had a great time, 3 for 3 on moose, no big ones though, the weather wasn't right. Just enough snow so that we couldn't get up in the high country, but not enough to bring those long legged suckers down so we could get at the big boys. Had a great time and ended up with 430 lbs of tasty steaks and burger though...happy with my shooting, 430 yards, 3 thru the boiler room, he took two steps and tipped over. Heard wolves and saw a ton of tracks, but no shots. Gonna try it again this year, but we are going during the peak of the rut and using my bow this time.
-
3 @ 430yds, nice shooting. Mine wasn't quite so dramatic; 50yds, in his bed, while he was sleeping. Didn't even get up, just kind of tipped over.
