Just wondering what everyone had planed for late archery season? Ill probably be deer hunting for a week in 346.
-
388
-
Someplace on the westside that might have elk too. Since the muzzy elk and archery deer have about the same dates for late season and I can use a bow during muzzy season. I can get a two for one :chuckle: maybe :dunno:. I just have to make sure the gmu is the open for muzzy elk.
-
At my house, eating the 2 deer I shot during early season
-
OUt freezing my ass off like last time I was an idiot and didn't notch early.
-
At my house, eating the 2 deer I shot during early season
that sounds lame as hell. :sry:
-
Like fish, deer and elk taste better when taken from a cold environment. Early season deer and elk just don't taste as good :tung:
Nile and Swakane. Second deer in MT Spokane to fill too.
-
At my house, eating the 2 deer I shot during early season
what about your other deer tag?
-
The first week I will be in my secret deer spot, starts with an "S" has a "K" in the middle and ends with an "E". The second week I am going to best spot in the whole state for elk, it starts with a "3" has a "2" in the middle and ends with an "8". I am planning on being all by myself unless someone figures out the code to these hotspots that very few know about.
-
same place as Rainier 10 the first few days if slow to the Entiat to find a nice big fat doe!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-

Lame but satisfying. When it's pissing rain and 42 degrees outside, I'll be thinking about you and wishing you a speedy late season.
-

what about your other deer tag?
Filled them both in Sept.
-
I have an elk and bear in the freezer but i still must go.
-
Ill be hangin out in elk camp with my buddies who weren't lucky enough to tag out. Not really sure what I'm doing for deer. Not all that thrilled about it actually.
-
During late archery I'll be in 130 chasing elk with a front stuffer
-
Nubbs you got to get over and get on some of those big mulie bucks. Its almost as much fun as elk hunting.
-
I do love hunting mulies. All my partners are gonna be hunting elk and I'm not going to swakane :chuckle: got no-one to go with.
-
Ill be in 124...probably wishing I was in 101
-
Trying to get a mulie around Chelan for a coupe of days then off to the honey hole in 101.
-
I would recomend Swakane. Dosent seem to be talked about much. For people that arnt familure , :hello:with the snow huge bucks migrate into that unit! :hello: :dunno:
-
will swakane be snowed in by late season?
-
101 all the way. Hunting every single day until I whack one of my lunkers!
-
Yep, Swakane, the land of 15-20 deer a day all going 170-180 and you can see them from the road. :chuckle: It is tough steep hunting and the snow does make it better but with all of the fires I actually was hoping for a light winter to make it easier on the deer. By the looks of things the guys with the rifle permits might want to get up there the first couple weeks of November before it does get snowed in. The archery guys are probably going to have to walk up because you won't be able or want to try to drive up.
-
Have chains for all 4!
-
Seeing that i cant get the time away from work ill be pounding the the hell out
454.
-
407...... although I didn't see a damn thing early season.
-
Trying to fill my Entiat Tag for late Season Archery. Couple buddies might come along and hunt the other side of the river in Swakane.
ET
-
One of my favorite places.
-
Damn that looks steep! You must be Spiderman or Batman to traverse that terrain!
-
Man I can not wait ..but it may be tough because if your a Blacktail hunter the rut will be over for the most part ...Unless you hunt up higher in the cascades then it will be good because those high Mt. bucks will not come down until the snow makes them come down ...I shot my bow tonight at 35 yrds and  back on the rack it went !
-
454, 615, & 520 (with everyone else) for elk.
-
I got GPS cord for that huge buck from the Tripod burn.....So me and my closest 1000 friends will be there for the late hunt........hhahahaha

If I don't fill my tag tomorrow or Tuesday in 550, I'll probably be hunting 520 and 667 for the various late seasons in Nov and Dec.

101 helping girlfriend and dad then off to 105 to chase late elk
-
520 hoping to lash a tag to a buck.
I harvested a 100" buck in Oregon's early season, so I am going to scout, cam, and bait areas in 520 this week.
-
I'll be leading the blind in 556 again for the third year in a row. :bash: And she wonders why I'm always in a bad mood :dunno:
-

Any time D-rock, i will be there Nov 25-28th. I know a few spots that hold deer...
-
I'm still learning a few areas, and will be hunting the west (wet) side. I've never archery hunted late season elk, so i'm not sure what to expect. I'm guessing it's gonna be a spot and stalk game. Hopefully I can at least spot something!
Deer would be a bonus, Guess i'll be trying for both at the same time!
Good luck everyone!

I will be in unit 233, (town of Conconulley) at my friends place. He has a trailer across from the state park with a moose and caribou rack on it...driving a red toyota landcruiser (new fj sytle) . Anybody in the area stop by. I'll be hunting on my own. Should be up there the last week of deer season!

I thought I heard that the big buck was taken in the Winthrop area.
If so, that would be 218 or 224, neither of which is open for the late archery season. :dunno:

Bobcat your correct...

Private land 564 .. That equals 41 days of hunt for any deer!...
-
520 with everyone else and thier brother :bash:
Ah crap, same here.
-
Quite surprised to see that none have listed the unit I'll be up a tree in: although it is all private in 178.
A couple days invested in fixing fences in June, some smoked salmon and a bottle of Pendelton could put you on some dandy hunting.
-
Good luck to you.
-
Just put in for my time off :IBCOOL: I'll be hunting a full week.
-
I am going to the 520 and shot a cow...
-
White Tail hunting in 124...last 2 weeks of the season!
-
I'll be doing JBLM, for a few days, after Turkey Day, and, if my arrows stay clean, I'll be doing 505 and 520. I'll have the black GMC Yukon with gold trim and a propellar on the back (Pacific Northwet Package).
If I go down there, I'll, most likely, be spending a week, or so. I have both deer and elk and look to fill the back of my rig with meat.
-
H D-Rock... I'll be in Chiliwist for a few days trying to fill my permit... then off to the same place I am every year, stop by for a beer or a crown and coke... the camp by where your Dad got his elk last year.
-
Hey Wildsau, do you know what the status of the Longbell gate is this fall and winter?

Good luck on the muley hunt...
i was in bucks pretty good for the first few days last year then it got tough i don't know where they went. I'm deploying a new strategy this year heading over next weekend to hand a few treestands.

Now I have a big 4x4 blacktail teasing me. Hmmmmm... Choices, do I go East for muleys or whities or stay closer to home for a big old blacktail? Gotta do a lot of thinking over the next few weeks.
-
I'll take the wife up to Hancock land. I have to get my moneys worth out of that permit.
-
Winston then chiwawa

I have a couple areas i wanna go to, but being close by to a spot called Tonga ridge i want to investigate. Has anyone of you been up hunting in or around this spot?

204 or 209/215 on public lands. Depends on the snow...
I haven't seen anything great yet, but got a few little bucks on the cameras.
-
I'm hoping to get some stands set up this weekend.
-
I hope this 3x3 starts showing up a bit earlier for my wife's Oregon late season. It is the best buck on cam so far. We have a smaller buck in another spot showing up in the morning. I have to bring the card home to download those pics.
-
That's a real nice 3 point, but yeah, kinda needs to be coming around just a bit earlier!
-

-

Saw a herd of about 15 cows grazing this afternoon in the field next to Yale elementary school, second time in a week I've seen them in that area. Think thats part of the Toutle, good luck. Also saw a nice buck about 15 miles further up the road.
-
Right on any info is good info. Thanks.

-
I hope you get a crack at him.
Thanks, but this is an Oregon buck and I tagged out early season. I am hoping my wife or close friend takes this guy. He is ripe for the taking.
If I can ever get a deer patterned, I will be hunting Washington's late archery season.
-
It is my sons 1st year archery hunting, we leave opening day of late season and start hunting on Thanksgiving Day. I am excited to see if I can get him into the deer. On a side note, I am happy about having a "pack mule " http://hunting-washington.com/smf/Smileys/default/thumbsup.gif (http://hunting-washington.com/smf/Smileys/default/thumbsup.gif)
I need a little more snow up there. 209/215

Dinner.
-
Something about this year is making feel like it is my first year
Excited about late buck is a understatement.Seeing lots of nice deer
The problem is that all of them are just on this side of city limits.
Seems bigger bucks get their degree this time of the year.
-
Toutle. Fire danger put the kibosh on the early season, so I'll be looking for cows during a couple of weekend hunts.
-
I know what I won't be doing thurs, fri, sat thanksgiving weekend....hunting! Heads up to everyone who assumed the late archery opens on thanksgiving like normal, it opens Sunday. I realized earlier this week, 2 guys at work assumed it opened Thursday as well. Getting those 4 days off from work and catching the rut is half the reason I archery hunt. Might be looking at modern or a different unit next year.

-
Late season archery. I might try for a turkey with a bow. I have never hunted with a bow before but this weekend I hope to change that. I know it ain't a spring hunt for the big gobbler but if I manage to get close enough for a shot on a winter bird and score I'll be pretty happy. Hopefully all the rain won't get in the way.
-
Leaving work at 1 today :IBCOOL:. We will be camping in the Nile.
-
Quality buck tag in West Klickitat. Floating the Klickitat and hunting the canyon for 5 days!!! Can't Wait, leaving tomorrow!
-
Good luck to everyone and Have a Happy Thanksgiving. :hello:
-
Slight change of plans I think i am going to skip on the toutle cow tag for at least one week end. I saw a bull running with about 6 cows while hunting deer last week end with the old man. So i think im going to give it hell and see if i cant put some bones in the garage rafters.
-
area GMU460. Anyone want to go?
-
I finally have been given permission to hunt the property where my
