It's getting to be that time of year again! Anyone gotten into the squids yet? I was thinking about wandering down to Pier 86 tonight and seeing what was going on.
I am out for the next couple of weeks but I will be down for some squiding in December.

Weeknights are tough for me usually but fri-sun I can usually go. PM me and we can meet up. Ive always wanted to try this, btw I live in the Ballard area for proximity.
All my squid jigs rusted, so tonight I'm just walking down there to check it out. But when I go for real, I'll definitely let you know.

I do love the east side, but there are many times I wish I wish I was closer to all the fishing, crabbing, clamming, etc that the ocean has to offer.
ya I know it, I gotta get to the salt every few years - but normally I head to Canadian waters

I'm up for going if anyone wants to meet at Edmonds. Cant go till friday night maybe. I need to get some lights to plug into my generator. Its hard to get a good spot in the light when its busy.

i was thinking about going to edmonds tonight but realized i dont have any jigs... :bash:. There is a guy on the dock that seels them at edmonds. There most of the time.

I'm not too familiar with that area. I would venture a guess and say give it a shot. They're all over the place, but seem to congregate closer to shore about 2-3 hours before high tide.

It was cold and raining. I styed an hour. Everyone in the lights were only catching a couple.
Out of four trips down this year so far i have got 30.
Maybe try this weekend. I think the tide has alot to do with it. I also heard its been good just after dark.

Friday night edmonds was on fire after 10 pm i heard. I went sat night and caught a couple. As usual the people at the end of the peir were catching alot.

All I got tonight was soaked. I was down there for 3 hours. There were 8 guys and only 10 or 12 squid caught in that time.

Should have been there at 9:30, everyone pretty much limited out. I've never seen so many squid in one place.
That's usually what I hear anyways..... :chuckle:
