Hunted all day Friday (11/2) and saw 30+ does and 1 spike in the northeastern portion of the unit. No mature bucks were spotted. Decided not to waste my time and come back the week after for more rut activity. Anyone seeing something different?

I would wait for some weather. While cold weather doesn't bring on the rut, it gets deer moving so you see more cruising bucks. :twocents:

Based on the last couple years you will certainly see more activity later in the month. I am guessing you have one of the Nov.1-20 permits, the last week will likely be your best bet. It is supposed to cool down over the weekend and with a threat of precip. next week I would think the best time is on its way. Last year the mule deer were heavy into rut activities by the 15th at our place in 204. Good luck.

I was on gardner creek tonight and saw a 26-28 inch muley chasin does hard got a little video of him cool buck had a kicker on his left side.. I have a whitetail tag in 204..

It will get good with weather. Like Jess said there are some nice bucks around, just need the weather to get them moving.

Yes, I have the permit for mule deer or whitetail Nov 1-20. I have a camp trailer set up on private land near Waconda, about 1hour & 15 minutes from where I live.
Will go over and start hunting Friday. If nothing good is happening, I will hunt the last 7 days of the permit.

Rut is in FULL swing. Has been for about a week. Bright moon and clear skies hasn't been helping. 60-65 degree days. I am averaging about 50% fewer deer than average. Its tougher out there but there are still good bucks. The weather is turning, and the moon is getting darker, so it should be better.

Video a big 2x3 mounting a doe on golden harvest yesterday.. So muley rut is goin strong

My dad and I were up by chesaw off mary ann cr rd by walker lake on Tuesday scouting seen three real nice bucks. One had at least a 26-28" spread.

Heading over Sherman in the morning to hunt the next four days. Others I know have seen some rut activity but the big ones are not out being dumb yet.

Glad to hear things are heating up, it will give me something else to look for as we cover the property this weekend checking cams and hopefully shooting a few coyotes. It is always cool to see new rubs and perhaps a few bucks as well.

Last weekend seen four 4 points in the 20-22" range and called in a 22-24" 2 point. The bucks were aroungd the does following them but no good action was taking place. The big boys are still being wary then.
Today drove to Loomis and seen a good 24" four point walking through an alfalfa field around 2:30. Also seen a good group of does off highway 20 where I have never seen deer before. This all tells me the deer are on the move and I am hoping that the big boys will come out and get stupid this weekend. Heading back into the unit to hunt on Friday. We shall see. Hope it is not foggy this time.

Any good news from the 204 over the weekend, heading over tomorrow. The weather and reports from folks currently over there aren't looking all that positive. The rut has to get going at some point....right?
-
You must be meaning whitetail? Rut was full swing 2 weeks ago for mulies in 204! I about got ran over by a easy 180+ buck chasing a doe!

There both still crazy ive seen bucks pushing for a week plus i live right in tonasket should be a good late archery for mulies and whitetails.

Hopefully you're talking about another GMU and not the 204, because there is no late archery muley season in 204.
