We were told a few years back that Wild Turkeys had been planted in the area.

They were initially planted by the creek at the back of Lake Merwin ... they have now spread to Chelatchee Priairie and behind Yale Res. ... also north (Dubois Road) and as far up as Lake Merwin in the spring to mention a few places.

That said think about the Klickitat where they are more plentiful, you can harvest 2 (versus 1), Merriams are easier to hunt than the more reclusive Easterns, and usually better hunting terrain & weather.

If you head to Klickitat please know where you are at. It is a real issue in the county for people not knowing where they are and end up trespassing. There is a ton of private land.
