Yesterday afternoon, I took my position on one of my favorite rocks. I rattled a few times and used my grunt tube, but nothing wanted to play. I sat for about an hour in total silence. All of the sudden I heard a crashing noise coming down the hill! A fawn ran right past me at full speed. I looked up to might right and saw two Coyotes that had been chasing her. I said to my self "Oh Hell No!" so I waited for about thirty seconds to see if they would line up so I could get both of them :chuckle:. That didn't happen, so I picked out the biggest one and decided to end my deer hunt for the day. One less deer chaser in the woods!

 good job. To me that says that you are a ethical hunter right there. I got into a heated discussion with a hunter on the state land behind my house during early buck when he was telling me he saw 4 coyotes that morning. I told him he should of shot them the help the deer population in the area he is hunting and he got pissed at me about it.

I am not going to lie Sebek. It was a bit of a hard decision after sitting there that long to touch of a shot, but I was kind of cold and it pissed me off that the only deer that I saw the whole afternoon was being chased by coyotes.

'Yotes, or any dog chasing seem to die from lead poisoning for some reason :dunno:

Excellent! I was hunting in Ritzville a couple years ago and did the exact same thing! Except I only wounded the little *censored* but another hunter smoked him for me! We both shot nice 4x4's the next day so it worked out good in the end!
