Do Raccoons make nests in trees? I saw a nest thing in my backyard on 10acres, its way up in a tree and it doesnt look like a normal bird nest. It is a pine tree and it looks like its a bunch of pine branches wedged together up in a split in the tree. The nest is about the size of a raccoon and I was just wondering if raccoons did that.

sounds like a eagle nest to me

could be a squawsnatch ;)

Eagle? Ya think? I've seen some hawks flying around. I dont think it would be an eagle just because the tree its in is closer to the house, and its in circle of trees, not in the actual woods part of the property. I also got Ft Lewis next to me so they have MUCH more land for an eagle.

They sure do. I ghad a big snag topped fir in my front yard. Where there was a big fork brush and limbs piled up there. I always had coons there until I cut it down.

I'm not sure i was just throwing out a guess my grandparents have a bald eagle nest in there back yard and they are right butted up against the king county watershed. go take a picture of it and that will probably help.

Eagle nests are massive as they add to it year after year. Pics would help.
