Title: 2012 Wind River Elk Hunt
Post by: Jason on November 13, 2012, 10:27:07 PM: Well not to much of a story.. but I missed the first week of Rifle Elk due to work :bash: We made it up friday night the 9th after work and set up camp. Seen two cows the first day but was unable to get a shot opportunity, for the next couple days after that we could never find any Elk as it seemed we were always a step behind them. Then finally today we located a herd within 10 minutes from the truck, couldn't find any horns in the bunch but I was able to get a shot on this cow and fill my cow permit.

Ice the camp is on an old landing, not alot of flat ground in the Wind River unit.

This was the boys first Elk hunt, I would loved to have gotten the boys on their bulls but I think the were just as excited to see dad harvest an Elk.

A little hard to find an elk, let alone harvest one in there anymore.. Congrats and a HUGE :tup: for getting them kids out there and passing on the tradition!!! Aint nothing like sharing the Elk Camp experience with your kids!!!
