Title: Mrs Bucklucky does it again , Big Blacktail Down !
Post by: bucklucky on November 16, 2012, 09:42:00 AM: What else can I say but I think she stole my luck with bucks So I got a call about quarter to three on thursday " I got my buck!! " . Of course my first question is " How Big??" . She says ," I think he was a 15 inch 3 point " . Sweet !! , call me back when you get to him.

2nd phone call , ( oh by the way I was home watching the kids so the wife could hunt one of our many spots 4 miles in some walk in units ) "Hes a 4 point with BIG eyeguards, 15 wide , a descent buck . I say " Awesome , I will get the cart and meet you up there.

Anyway I about crapped when I got up there and this buck was laying there. I havent seen a buck like this for a LONG time around any of my hunting spots . Perfect as you get with a buck, long everything. Looks like the wife has her biggest Blacktail to date . Funny thing is she killed her biggest Muley the year before, and her biggest bodie blacktail the year before that . This buck topped the scales at 135 gutted, tiny buck bodie wise compared to the usual mature bucks we kill.

Congrats Mrs Bucklucky , good thing you missed that forked horn a few minutes earlier

You obviousely havent been keeping track of my hunting lately :chuckle: I got a floppy eared cow early season on the last day and havent killed a buck in 3+ years :chuckle: :chuckle:

Patience paid off again and Charlie almost got the story right.... I think he gets a little excited.... Couldn't ask for a better blacktail. Definitely a buck of a lifetime. And yes, the whitetail is next on the list along with a nice bull elk :) Maybe I'm gonna have to pick up the bow again for deer. I do have to thank the hubby for hiking in to help me get him out. Thank you!

You just don't see many perfect 4 x 4's with nice browtines in this part of the blacktail world. Have you had a chance to pull a tape on him yet?? I'm thinking 125ish.
