Why aren't there ever good deals on guns in interesting calibers? :bash: The 40 cal is the second most boring caliber around. Only the 9mm beats it. :chuckle:

Where are all the guns in 451 Detonics, or 41 AE? And what do I have to do to find a deal on a 45 Win Mag? :dunno: :chuckle:

Because if cops had guns in more exciting calibers they might be tempted to use them more often?  :P  :chuckle:

Yeah.  Most firearms that come out of the Sako factory couldn't compete with a Rem700.    :chuckle:
Isn't Glock what every 16yr old dreams of buying while playing COD?
Pretty sophisticated taste in firearms.

What's COD? What would you know about sophisticated firearms Dink? I have plenty of hardware to choose from. Glocks run, their simple, accurate, dependable, not to " Sophisticated" to toss under a seat or a tool box for that matter. Have been proven world wide and used daily by some of our best including "No such agencies". You know, the guys that creep around in the dark all over the world protecting freedom and your right to post comical crap on the internet. So if one was to go crunch the numbers, there's more Glocks out there than you can wrap your razor sharp mind around. Glock must be doing something right, at least for 16 year olds, if we look at it from your prospective. :chuckle: keep thinking Dink. Keep hating Glocks and ill keep hating Tikka's and our worlds will keep going round. ;)

More Glocks for ya Dink.

You let a real firearm get in with the Nerf guns in that first pic.
Good luck 'tossing under a seat or a tool box' with that amazing safety system they have.
I'll take an HK or Sig, thank you.
Next you're going to lecture me on Ruger revolvers and how forged steel is for the fancy-pants wine and cheese yuppies.
RubberMallet, you take a hook like no other! :IBCOOL:

Tikka  Toys In Krap Kondition, Always !?

Glocks in toolboxes, perfect place for them.  They are the screwdriver of the gun world.  Simple and can be used for jobs they werent intended to preform like driving nails when your hammer comes up missing.

J/K  I actually own a couple and would abuse them, but they do get tossed under the seat, under the kitchen sink or other random places once in awhile.

Glock to the handgun world is what Tikka is to the rifle world.  The similarities are great.

Love the Tikka with much support.  I don't care to defend them much like some nor trash them much like others but damn fine rifle out of the box no denying that.

I think Littlehammer brings much entertainment to this site and thank the little guy for sticking around.  Small man big truck comes to mind....hmmmm

Pretty good buy there, I've seen LE turn-ins come up a few times for about that price but only online.

I've tried to like Glock pistols and have shot a lot of them but I just don't shoot them very well, I shoot the M&P's and XD's much better. I never have figured out why either! I can shoot my kel-tec P3At (.380) better than any Glock I've tried!

The XD's took some getting used to for me. They shoot well and I have never had a issue with function. Now I just need to get past the "Tikka thing" I have. Some professional help may be in order. ;)

Not a huge Glock fan............. reliable, accurate, used by everyone.....blah,blah,blah
I have to agree with that, but they don't have a natural point of aim for me. I shoot my XD tactical way better, BUT, I get beat by glock shooters all the time.
If anyone wants one, thats a damn good deal with the NS though.

If you're not afraid of a little quality to go with your heaping helping of bravado, take a look at Freedom Arms for your 454 Casull.

Freedom Arms has been around a long time, they make some cool stuff. While the Glock Is a AWSOME handgun Dink. From the photo you can tell there is much more carry wear on the Ultra Covert than the 19  ;).

The balance , feel and accuracy of the XD 5.25 9mm is amazing also. A laser to shoot and it has never malfunctioned. I lean towards its grip to be slightly above the Glock but I wouldn't toss it in the tool box or under the truck seat like I would Glock. I also know you would appreciate its grip safety.

And Redbull helps with any shooting situation.

Was never a Glock fan Ever!!
Till I bought my first one........

Same here, a friend purchased one of the first Glock 17's to hit town when they first came out. I hated the thought, even the look of it. I was a big 1911 fan back then, still am. I couldn't stand that handgun, it was completely off the beaten path of what handguns had been to that point. I looked at it as a plastic piece of trash. Took about three years to get me to shoot it. It was accurate and reliable and didn't take any "Tinkering" like allot of 1911 do. I was sold and I have had a bunch of them since, the only one I haven't really cared for was the .45 GAP. I purchased one and 500 rounds of Golden Saber ammo. Shot it up in two weekends and sold the pistol and brass. Couldn't justify it's performance or ammo difference/cost to out weigh that of the standard 45 ACP chambering.

This purchase was due to my soft spot for that much hated 17 back then and yes I shoot the crap out of it but would rather carry the 19.

Mine took over a decade to break down an buy one.
Like you I shot a couple of the early 90s ones, I remember renting a couple at Wades in Bellevue,(old location) with my dad and bro.  Dad liked them but I couldn't get used to the sights being all square and blocky, and had a hard time even getting on the paper!
2nd I experienced way to many Stove pipes  to be comfy. Couple years later I shot a buddies and his had the same problem! JAMED way to much. I pretty much wrote them off till 3 years ago. I was on the Hunt for a 10mm.  Every google search or gun expert pointed to the Glock20
I begrudgingly purchased it.  Right out if the box I was nailing the 10 ring at 7yrds, then 15  all the way down to 25yrds I was in the Black!   Boy was I happy.  Was my woods gun for the last 2 years till I bought the smaller G29 that weighs half.
Also this year I  borrowed a g19 for my Lady to shoot, and she wouldn't put it down. Put some 250rds through it all by her self.  Sadly she won't let me buy it for her, has her eyes and heart  locked on the Springfield EMP 9mm. )-;

the 19 is good, love the 17, but for fun shooting "steel" , ;), the 34 is my handsdown favorite. Good balance for the double/triple tap, accurate and just a pleasure to shoot!

Weighs half?
G20: 27.7oz
G29: 24.7oz

10mm is my choice for a woods gun. Hard to beat the overall firepower.

Oh let's get all technical lol

G20  =27.7oz
16rds  230gr @ 20g =11.993oz

Total not counting larger holster and 2nd mag (if ya carry). 39.693oz

G29 =24.7oz
10rds 230gr @20g = 7.054oz

Total 31.754oz

So not quite Half, but fully loaded, the Amo makes a huge difference

Like the Glocks...LOVE the M&P!!!!!!! Better fit to the hand, just as reliable, (ran my m&p compact .40 over 2000 rounds without cleaning), and esthetically a better looking piece. And a higher web of the hand fit...leads to a very controllable pistol! :)

I glanced a M&P's way one time, that's as far as it went. :o

I shot 1911s almost exclusively and carried them as well until I went to work somewhere that required the carry of a Glock 22.  I pissed and moaned until we went to familiarize with them.  They were easy to clean and easy to deal with.  On the range, they performed great.  The only malfunctions were from limp wrists.  We even had to shoot at 50 yards and they did great.

I was pretty impressed and liked how easy it was to bring to bear when stress was added to the drills and force-on-force courses.  You'd be surprised how many people in force-on-force training get hit a couple times before they remember to take their safeties off.  Poor or lack of training can get you killed and the Glock just simplifies the equation with their design.

I still have a 1911 and it sits by the bed for the most part.  I am a desk jockey now and don't carry at work, but I did end up buying a Glock 19 for when I wear enough clothing to hide it.

I have to agree with Biggerhammer. I hated Glocks, was always a fan of the 1911. I owned a few 1911's. Then I was issued a Glock and went through weeks of range training. Now I would take a Glock over any other pistol for any situation where my life depended on it. I sold my 1911's. Glock has been proven for over 30 years in combat all over the world. Not to say the 1911 has not been proven, it has. But the Glock is much more reliable.

And I also agree that Tikkas suck. I have one and I'm currently looking for it's replacement....ugh

I still find it very amusing that Littlehammer Big Truck loves the plastic glock but hates on the Tikka every chance he gets.  The Tikka and Glock are like brother and sister.

Maybe if Glocks rolled out of the FNH factory.
Give the guy a break, he has probably never heard of Sako and isn't familiar with high performance rifles.
I remember him mentioning a Rem700 purchase recently so he sets the bar pretty low.
Baby steps. :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot:

My Sig "Scorpion" is perfection, robust, accurate and has run flawlessly. I will shoot the new Sig "Nightmare" pictured above along with the Alaskan .454 here in about a half hour.

Meh.

For a couple more tanks of gas, you could have had a Dan Wesson.

Hammer, I do have to say I'm a little disapointed in your 1911 selections.   Factory guns?? Really??

Here is my first glock. Went out this morning and ran 100 rounds threw it and it performed great! No complaints here. One question i have is because of the factory barrel everyone says to shoot FMJ ammo. So are there any options for for hollow points?

You can shoot any jacketed ammo in the stock barrel.
It is not recommended to shoot lead and some plated bullets in a factory Glock barrel.
