Title: My Montana hunt
Post by: huntncoug on November 17, 2012, 07:04:57 PM: Me and my buddy Tom (a hw member) drew landowner tags for eastern mt on my grandpas ranch. We almost called it off because a huge fire ravaged the area in late august. My grandpa insisted there were plenty of deer around so we decided to go. It was 5 below zero monday our first day, the deer werent in their normal places but tom was able to shoot a nice 5x5. The next day i passed up several nice deer before i settled on this nice 5x5.

Post by: jrebel on November 17, 2012, 11:22:05 PM: I don't know...24 inches would be a trophy to me. My biggest is a 20" basket rack 4x4. I love the dark horns and he would be a wall hanger for me. Congrats again. I love seeing bucks like this.
