I've actually been back to my place of assigned duty for a couple weeks now, but already I want to get back down there. I'll keep in short and sweet instead of giving a mass of text.
KMG Safaris did a wonderful job getting us into animals.
Day 1: Made a stalk onto a bachelor herd of impalas. Got to within 160 and wait to wait until the big ram in the herd stood up, then one shot and he was down.
We talked afterwards about what we were going to do with the rest of my time there. I was going there for an impala and warthog. I said I might be able to convince the wife on a kudu. So we went out that evening, and after glassing a valley for a couple hours, we saw this nice kudu heading into some brush. We moved to where we thought he would come out, and after fifteen agonizing minutes, there he was. One shot and he was down.
Day 2: We went fishing this day. Fishing is free and I needed to figure out how the rest of the hunt was going to go. haha
Day 3: We shot this cull sow in a swamp. Her back hip was all buggered up. If I wasn't going to shoot her, then the guide would. So of course I took the shot. We didn't do a trophy photo on this one because we were still going after a big boar. That evening while still going for hogs, we heard a couple jackals calling from above us. We moved up to meet them and the guide managed to call them in with a mouth predator call. Like an idiot, I missed the close shot on the first dog, but thankfully his buddy presented himself.
Day 4: We took it easy this day as I simply couldn't afford anymore trophies. We went out predator calling for more jackals. The guide took an additional dog, but that was about it. We were sitting apart from each other, and he got the opportunity on this one.
Great trip, and I sure hope I can make it down there in my lifetime again. So much different from beating my head against the tree in Washington!

Africa is an amazing place, go once and you will be obsessed trying to figure out a way to go back. I've been twice and am trying to go again! Warthog has eluded me both times. Nice trophies you got there! Check mine out on photobucket.com, longshot565 is the album.

I tried to look up your album on photbucket, and typed 'longshot 565' into the search bar, but nothing came up. :dunno:

I gotta ask and you can tell the world if you want. What is the total cost, I mean everything, airfare etc for a hunt ? From your front door and back.
