EXCELLENT firearm; I have four of them. Two Mdl 85B2 and two Mdl 85SS2UL. Great guns as I have 10 Taurus revolovers.

I have owned several taurus revolvers, including an 85.. If I could get the last one back that I traded away I would.. good guns, lifetime warranty.

If its thier snub nose, i don't think you will find a better bang for your buck gun. It you were doing LOTS of shooting then a SW would be better I think, but from the model i'm guessin ghtis is a CC gun that isn't going to be putting 1ks of rounds down range...

CDNN has them on sale regularly for ~$290 if you sign up for the weekly emails you'll find it on there at least once a month.

PASS!

I had a friend in college who had a Taurus .357 revolver. I fired it a few rounds, it would heat up and expand, and the striker wouldn't touch the primer on the rounds  :yike:

I've heard of other reliability issues with Taurus and while I might take one of their guns, for free, just for plinking, no way would I buy one for a CCW gun. YMMV.  :twocents:

I have had 3 85's.  I think they are kind of cheaper manufacturing wise (I am a S&W guy).  I bought them because they were great deals and then traded them or gave them away.  Nothing bad to say about them really, just that they aren't Smith's but Smith's aren't Smiths these days either.  They all shot well and in fact one was very, very accurate.  I wouldn't be ashamed to have one, I think it will do just fine and you can't beat the warranty.
