I've never had a problem getting on deer in both those areas...

Another place I remember checking out was off Hood Canal Farm Rd. Near the end of the road were two gates, one went down to a house on the Canal, and another went into the woods toward the base. Don't know if that area is still available anymore...probably has apartments now :dunno:.

I think you can still hunt the woods surrounding Mc Cormick.... But lot's of brush pickers have ran through the area.... Might be worth a try though.... Last time I hunted on the buffer I shot a 2x3 Blackie with my 12 gauge and 00 buck... Patternred great to 50 yards with modified choke... Took a snap shot on the buck through the brush... Turned out to be closer to 63 yards... Deer ran over 400 yards and died on the edge of a back yard of a family bbqing.... Not even across their property line.... I could even still see the orange stakes in the ground along with some flagging still on the brush and trees.... Cops still came and were waiting for me at my truck when I got there.... Luckily they knew my parents from dealing with all their foster kids.... I wasn't in the wrong.... But won't be hunting that close anymore... Even though that's the best spot... Everything within a half mile of the property line is packed full of deer until the pickers send them around...

Post by: jrod1407 on December 15, 2012, 12:29:44 PM: umm... better to play safe than sorry when it comes to how close is too close, or questioning legal or illegal. washington non-hunters are pretty dramatic so if there is even the slightest doubt in the back of your head i would just steer clear and drive the few extra miles to where you know it's not a problem.

This was years ago when I shot that buck around the Woods... It was more then legal then... It wasn't PO city and anything past that is not city... That just got annexed in earlier this year...

There are more owners then that.... A bunch... I got permission to hunt on some of the land by a property manager a few years ago.... Recently I was told by another "property manager" (that wouldn't give me a name or card but i took his plate #) no huntin was allowed that they've never allowed it... If I can find the original guys card I'll even name the owners... And don't get caught trapping, waterfowling, deer hunting, fishing... Nothing where the huge beaver pond is where I spent a bunch of my younger days... It's right by the round about on Lake Flora where Sunnyslope Rd connects in... Pretty much all the way down Lake Flora and JM Dickenson... I use to ride my bike down there and hunt as a kid... Even all the powerlines... Not any more...
