Title: Sawtooth Horse Camp Question
Post by: saudog on September 09, 2008, 05:43:42 PM
Does anyone know where to expect guided horse camps for the general deer season in the Sawtooths up above Twisp?  There was a thread last year regarding this subject and I'm pretty sure Eagle Lakes was listed as most likely having a camp or camps.  Anywhere else I should count on?  I am thinking of hunting up there but don't want to hunt to close to a camp.  Thanks for any help.

I think you will find the outfitter camps will be the other side of horse head pass, in the boiling lake, cub lake, old maid basin, surprise lake, Prince cr., fish cr.  The Eagle lakes area down to the Crater lake trail head has a few popular camp areas but that would all be do your selfers.

Hey, thanks for the Info. Ida.  I guess that makes sense.  If they're using horses, you figure they would go back in there a little farther.  Anyone else know where these outfitter camps might be going up this year?
