This is a friendly comp, we are going to take folks at their word. The contest is just a way to hopefully motivate folks to get in better hunting shape and get in better shape for life. The contest runs from 1 Jan to 31 Aug 2013. Winner will be announced on 1 Sep. Winner is the person who loses the biggest percentage of weight. Since we have several great prizes we are going to let folks choose their prize, 1st place gets first pick, 2nd place gets second pick and so on and so forth. Post your weight in red and my wife will keep track of it. If you see a mistake or she misses someone please let her know nicely, she's a busy lady but has volunteered her time and effort so please be nice. I would suggest folks take some before and after photos, but there is no requirement to post them, but trust me if you have some serious weight to lose, you'll be glad you did.

why not? Maybe a different prize this coming year? I'm near my goal and I could use the challenge to get over the last hurdle. Pretty soon I'm going to be able to squeeze in my old uniforms from back in the day, wife's gonna love that. :IBCOOL:
-
I think this would be a great idea again! Really helps with the motivation.
-
I think I'll make a post in the General section directing anyone interested in coming here.
-
I'm in . When do we start?
-
Somehow I got 198lbs :yike: on my 175lb frame, this should help motivate
-
Yep....im in....250 on me is to much....wife and i getting serious about being more healthy.
-
I am down, why not, I go to the gym anyway. How long does it run til and how to we report? Wish I knew about this last year. Since February of 2010, I have gone from 341 to 260lbs. Still got about 20-25 more I would like to drop so this could be good motivation.
-
Wish I could gain ten or so! I've walked and hungered alot of beef off of my frame this hunting season. Lost a bunch of summers wood splitting muscle. And my tan! :yike:

Good job!!! You can help the rest of us with tips and motivation!!

1 Jan 2013 to 31 Aug 2013. Post your starting weight in RED. You can post a weekly weight if you want but my wife will only update the chart on the 1st of the month, unless someone else wants to help out. We don't yet have a prize for the biggest loser which will be determined by total percentage of weight loss. I would encourage those of us with substantial amounts of weight to lose take a before and after photo. No need to post it unles you want to. If you lose a bunch it's amazing to see the transformations.

You could maybe set up an appointment?
-
This recruit is in, Sir.
-
Here is some of my before and after currently. The 1st one was before I started to get serious the Aug 2009, clocked in at 325 by Feb 2010 I was 341. Joined a gym in town, changed my diet and today I am between 255-265 on average. Made packing out this years cow much easier. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about everyone's success, and being a part of it. I found what has helped me is the support of others, and my peers at the gym holding me accountable when I would not show for a day or two. Good luck everyone. Just remember it makes those 5-10 mile walks behind gates much easier, and the choice to put one down far behind a gate much more easier
-
Great stuff!!!!
-
Maybe also have some get togethers.hicking or biking trips in the mountains. The wife and I are almost empty nesters. My city girl is wanting. To get out and hike and fish. Something like that could be motivational?
-
Check out www.traintohunt.com (http://www.traintohunt.com). It's what I do to stay in shape.
-
I am in. So does everyone post thats in post on Jan1? How often do you post after that?
-
how's it work?
-
I am in... I fell off the wagon last year.
-
how's it work?
Post your starting weight in red. Post your progress weekly or whenever you feel like it. On 31 Aug post your final weigh in. Highest percentage of weight loss wins a yet to be determined prize.
-
Anyone can join at any time, but their starting weight is whatever their weight is the day they join, so if someone joins in March or April, their starting weight is whatever their weight is on the day they join. Can't have someone join in March saying oh man I've lost X amount of weight since 1 Jan can I join in at that weight, sorry no. Post your starting weight by 1 Jan, or the date you join.
-
Yup I am in this year
-
Yup, what the hell... Found out we are going to philmont so i need to start getting in shape.
-
count me in
-
201 heaviest I've ever been :yike:
-
Why not, I need some motivation. I hit my heaviest weight in a long time, 227. I need to get down to around 180-185.
-
249.....Probably a few pounds more by the 1st....
-
Count me in. I've gained 50lbs since 2007's unrepairable heart blockage, which was repaired 10-30-2012. 249 this morning, I'll post my start weight January 1.
-

:yike: :yike: :yike: That Devil Dog would definitely get me over the hurdle! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: I recall this face and if he was standing over me providing me with words of "encouragement" I'd definitely be reincarnated again. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
I'm back in 240. Last couple of months have been hectic with work, kids and trying to squeeze in some hunting on weekends. Time to kick it into full gear again and good luck everybody.
-
i have tried to several times over the years, everyone always drops silent and bails :dunno:
-
Get after it guys, I wish I could get in, but I have dropped 41 pounds since June, and don't have anymore to loose, Good luck to all, It will make a big difference in the way you hunt and feel, if you can stick with it.
-
Nice job, you can stop in once in a while and keep the rest of us motivated with your success!!! ;)
-
I am in again. All that I lost last year is back on again.
-
Im in last year I did not stick to it. This year will be different so do we post the weights now or wait until the first
-
I think we are suppose to wait till the first. At least that is how I understood it. Then post an updated weight every week.
-
Hey Fred,
I'm in this year. Dropped about 15lbs before hunting season last year, and all back now. Need to loose almost 30lbs to get down around 220 (which I haven't seen since college days). Will be good motivation.
Thanks,
ET
-
Start 238 goal 200 by October :)

You can post now but the actual start date is the 1st and then either weekly or when ever you feel like it up until the final weigh-in.
-
Yep you can post now, but anything you lose between now and then will not count....of course anything you gain between now and then will most certainly count. :):)
-
oh hells bells I should because I am insanely fat....have beaten my pregnancy high by damn near the amount gained when I was pregnant times 2 :bash: :bash: :bash: when I quit smoking its been a struggle ever since spent 1 1/2 year in great physical shape right after I quit, then life went wonky and as usual I let myself go to hell....but since it was the big quit smoking thread here that helped me quit maybe doing this will help me get my ass in some sort of shape.....
dear god admitting what the scale says is horrifying though :yike: :yike: I have until the first to post my red weigh in right :dunno:

Shi I'm down
-
Count this guy in as well, the only thing that motivates me more than hunting is staying alive long enough to take my kids hunting with me!
-
I'm in, didn't stick to it last year and in October I was regretting it :bash:
-
I am in I just weighed in at 251. When do we start and when does it end?
-
1 Jan 2013-31 Aug 2013
-
I think I will partake this year again. I really blew last year. Its almost a health issue now.
-
I took my son to Disney World this year and signed us up for their Wild Africa Trek. While they don't mention it on their website, when you get there they tell you about the 300 lb weight limit on they harness they use for the bridge over the crocodile pool. I am now distinctly North of 300. I am in the extra tall size so the weight has never kept me from doing things with my son before. He still got to go on the trek with his mother, but I don't want my weight to keep me from doing things with him again.
For my son, I am in this year.
-
I'm in. 5'10".....232lbs. I'll check back in on Jan 1. Gotta do better on the high hunt.
-

Goal for next year is 180 or 185 so i have some work to do.
Good luck all.... will post my starting weight on the 1st.

-
I am in. Having to post it keeps me motivated
-
I'm in. Looking to get under 200 again in this lifetime. That means losing 50-60 lbs.
-
I am in ... Starting weight ....(ugh... this hurts...) 198 Goal is 140 (which I've been told by the Dr. is still too much for my stature) Trying to be realistic...
-
I'm in. Will weigh in when I get back across the country and to a scale. WIll be right around the 1st.
-
I am in ... Starting weight ....(ugh... this hurts...) 198 Goal is 140 (which I've been told by the Dr. is still too much for my stature) Trying to be realistic...
If I go by the chart I'm supposed to weigh 176, which is just plain silly for my frame. When I got back from Saudi Arabia in 1991 I weighed 179 and I looked like a bean pole. I was running 3 miles every other day and doing 200 sit ups and push ups everyday. Wife said I was way too skinny. At 188-190, I look and feel outstanding. My goal is to get back to 200. 199 would be out of this world good for me.
-
I'm with you on the chart Machias. I didn't even weigh the "correct" amount when I was in high school and playing sports. I go with how I perform best. I ran a half marathon way above the chart's recommendation and was "thin".
-

If I had to go by a chart it would say I should be a foot taller than I am :chuckle:
-
I'm in :-) I'll update on Tuesday with weight..
-
Well we are going to the philmont scout ranch in summer 2014, and going on a high elevation colorado elk hunt in 2013. I need to be below 267 to fit the BSA guidelines which wont be a problem. But i would really like to be down to about 230. Thats the goal. I think i am about 275-280 right now.

climbing MT Sai behind North Bend is fun with a group, sorta :chuckle:

I'll play. You guys are safe with me playing...I doubt I'll lose anything, but it will give Machias more numbers to have to punch into his spreadsheet. :chuckle: 201

You've got nothing to worry about. I need to get over there and buy you guys a burger and a beer to get you good and fattened up for the start.
Wait til you see my red number.....
-
It's official...... you're all a bunch of lightweights.
I just hopped on the scale, and the big digital numbers said: 390
I guess that means that I am entering in the "Unlimited Super Heavy Weight Division".
That ought to make you all feel pretty darned good about yourselves.
I used to be in great shape, but I have a few excuses:
1. I ate too much.
2. I quit exercising.
3. I ate even more.
So you see, it's not really my fault.... I have excuses.
(after posting that number, I'd better get after it.)
-
308. Broken thyroid and knees going out. Gonna be a challenge, but I am up for a good challenge.

308. Broken thyroid and knees going out. Gonna be a challenge, but I am up for a good challenge.
Same here, but we can do it!!
-
313.8 Goal is to be under 220 by next December :twocents:
-
I should wait and let tonight's festivities raise my numbers a little but I already have to much to lose. My current weight is 277. Good luck to all and I hope to see as much success as last year.
-
I started this last year and dropped out. I'm not doing that this year. I'm guessing I'm around 250. I'll officially weigh in on the first. I dare to say it but I want under 200. I'm 6'. I don't think I've been under 200 since Jr. High, possible elementary :chuckle:
Protein diet and running here I come!

[smg id=11902]
that's 250.6 LBs, but like others I have excuses :chuckle:
I was in an accident 9/29/87 wherein I broke my left arm in 2 places, crushed my right knee, tweaked both wrists, both ankles & before that I tore my rotator cuff while lifting weights. & 2 more times after driving & never had it fixed.
last time I fought in the ring I weighed in at 157 after being a HotShot firefighter all summer in 94. but considering where I work I should have the poorest excuse but being the manager sometimes means I can't workout there cause someone always needs me to do this or that.
where do I work? the Camas Center for Community Wellness in Usk, Pend Oreille county, GMU 113, here are some pics of what we have, I don't have a picture of our weight-lifting machines, just the free weights. & I have added punching bags in the group exercise room since these were taken. we are open to the public & I encourage anyone hunting this area to visit, you can get a shower, get a hot meal, soak in a hot-tub or sit in a sauna(steam or dry) & we provide the towels, all for a small daypass fee. I've said it before, where else do you hunt & get asked, "did you bring your swimsuit?"

We currently have over 70,000 stock designs to choose from
-
269.4 I was exactly this weight once before and got back down to 205 once I became a single man again. Now I'm back with a wife and daughter with another on the way. I was gonna wait until I finished my MBA in May, but I'm gonna have to buy bigger clothes if I dont do something now. Ive gone up and down since high school, time to change something again.

Official weigh in date................................. This is embarassing....... I have never weighed so much in my life. I stepped on the scale this morning, and it doesn't go this high. WOW. I had to come to work at the hospital and step on one here. Thats just plain scary. Thanks for doing this contest because it woke my fat bottom up. Beginning weight.... 315
realistic goal 255. Would love to shave it to 245.
-
Allright....here goes. My current weight is my heaviest ever...........250.4

-
I'm in, current weight is 251

I would like to be right around 230 by May
-

Realistic goal I think is somewhere around 215.
I weighed 180 in the USMC, but I looked stupidly skinny.
-
224 even this morning, just a few lbs less than my all time high. would love to get down to 180ish. Good luck everyone and Happy New Year.
-

O well all good things must come to an end, time to get back on my blood pressure pills so i can work out, god I hate pills. I guess Ill start off today by planning meals and getting my body re-hydrated with water. I hate water. we need a "bitching about being hungry" thread :chuckle:
-

-
224 this morning, looking to make 200lbs by September
-
Thats only 3 lbs a month for you. No second helpings. :chuckle:
-
if anyone lives close to me you are welcome to "share" my set of INSANITY dvd's. youll need a different one everyday or grab 2-3 at a time, so you'll want to live close. i went from 240 to 219 in a month, then got hurt. its guaranteed to bring the pain but VERY effective :o i used it 2 years ago and did great on it but have yet to be able to get back on it because i shattered my ankle and have not had the strength in my ankle to handle it yet. now it will be much harder for me because my ankle is maybe 60% and the injury alone alone caused me to gain more weight. now im fatter weaker and my ankle will prohibit really intense workouts.
i wish good luck to all of us, stronger lighter healthier and happier new year!
-
I am in. January 2012 I was 297. Today I am 272.8My lowest of the year was 254. My goal would be 220 lbs. by the end of August.
-
I wanna play this year 275 first thing this morning. I started strong last year and lost 18 pounds, then lost motivation and gained most of it back! I spent the later half of 2012 concentrating on diet change and portion control, now that I have that under control its time to implement the excersise program. I would love to see 220 again, but in will start small and shoot for 240.
Brandon
-
235 goal is 180. I want to lose more than the pack I will be carrying next fall
-
Alright, I failed miserably last year but since my daughter shot her first buck last season and she is dead set on getting a big buck and a bull, I owe it to her to be in good enough shape to be able to hunt and keep up with her. Today I am at my biggest ever, 316. It makes me sick to think that I have let myself get to this point. It is going to be a bitch considering my brain tumor messing up my chemistry so badly but I have do what I can to get healthy. I owe it to my family! My goal is to be down to under 260 by October.

-
280.2 :bash: :bash:
Goal is 220

who is monitoring this?
how do you know peoples REAL weights? "honesty"..
what are the rules etc? they are not posted in the opening thread? :dunno:
maybe these could be posted and the rest of the thread merged so the answers are the opening thread?
when i did this on a site before everyone had to post a standing on the scale pic for semi-honesty
-
Machias is running the contest. Same rules as last year and yes we are going by honesty. I'll round up the rules. The first one that is different is that it is Starting JAN 1- ???(he posted it I need to confirm)
Put your weigh ins in red. Not necessary to have to post weekly weigh ins but it might motivate you. Biggest percentage wins I believe with other possible opportunities.
-
Just remember it is better to maintain your weight than to yo-yo your weight. But that pretty much goes without saying.
-
I'm in.
Official weight at start is 391. I think that makes me the undisputed heavy weight champion.
And if you don't believe that weight, well...... I have the gut to prove it!..... :chuckle:
-
I am in! Starting weight is 216.6. I want to be at 190. Good luck to everyone.

This is a friendly comp, so yes we are going to take folks at their word. All kinds of ways to cheat if folks want to, but I'm not worried with this crowd. The prizes are great but I doubt someone would lie to get them. The contest is just a way to hopefully motivate folks to get in better hunting shape and get in better shape for life. The contest runs from 1 Jan to 31 Aug. Winner will be announced on 1 Sep. Winner is the person who loses the biggest percentage of weight. Since we have several great prizes we are going to let folks choose thier prize, 1st place gets first pick, 2nd place gets second pick and so on and so forth. Post your weight in red and my wife will keep track of it. If you see a mistake or she misses someone please let her know nicely, she's a busy lady but has volunteered her time and effort so please be nice. ;) I would suggest folks take some before and after photos, but there is no requirement to post them, but trust me if you have some serious weight to lose, you'll be glad you did.
-
Please put me on the list. Will weigh in tomorrow AM!
-
247.3 my goal would be to be able to run again by april/may and be at 215 by hunting season... and ultimately 200 by next new years day...
-
Why did I consume so much over the holidays?! Added about ten more lbs I don't want! Definitely my all time high. When you play sports you whole life and get taught to carb load for energy, you gotta quit that *censored* if you quit playing sports! Unfortunately, I didn't. Current weight 214. Weight goal to meet, 175 by hunting season (need to gain muscle too, which obviously weighs more than fat). Good luck everyone! If anyone in pierce county area needs a workout partner, send me a pm :)
-
As of this morning the scale read 316. I need to get back down to 250.
-
One tubby tubby, two tubby tubby...
Weighing in at a heavy 248
I'd like to get down to 205. Carb diet here we go!
-
Starting at 252.4. Close to my highest ever of 254. I finished the 2007 Gold's Challenge at 193, with lean body mass of 176. I'm starting this at 166.2 lean body mass, so looking to add 10 lbs of muscle and lose 65 lbs of fat.
-
185 Goal is 170 but would really like to hit 165.
-
241 so, there's all the weight I lost last year. Goal by June 1st. 200. Opener of archery, 185.
-
260 goal is 200
-
We should have the chart up sometime this evening with everyone's starting weight, current weight and goal weight, as well as their current loss percentages.
-
219 :bdid: Goal - 190
On the other hand, I was 228 when I started eating better and consistently working out mid-March 2012. Was down to 203 in late September. What the hell, it took me nearly 49 years to get there. Who cares if it takes me a few to get back to 160-170?
-
319 Goal is 200.
-
249.4 Goal is 225lbs. Got to 235 last year, but put it all back on after archery elk. Going to get to 225 this year and keep it there!!!
ET
-
174 Ugh....I swore I wouldn't put on those 10 holiday pounds! How the heck did that happen? Goal weight is 130.
-
as posted before starting weight was 250.6, heaviest ever was 263, goal is 200> by july and ultimately 168-173.
-
I am in I don't have a scale so I'll post once I get my scale back from my in laws. last time i check I was 350. I need to get in better shape goal is to be around 245. I'll post actual weight once I get my scale back.

Hey hey, a little bit of good news for us fat folks. :)
In a review of almost 100 past studies covering nearly three million people, researchers found that being overweight or slightly obese was linked to about a 6 percent lower risk of dying, compared to people considered "normal weight."
Being severely obese, however, was still tied to an almost 30 percent higher risk of death.
The idea that being somewhat overweight could be linked to better health has been dubbed the obesity paradox, even though actual obesity is generally not associated with the apparent "benefit."
"This is actually the common finding," said the new study's lead author Katherine Flegal, a senior scientist from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Her work, she said, confirms what previous analyses found - a link between being somewhat overweight and having a lower risk of death.
The paradox, as scientists have called it, is based on past findings that suggest overweight and obese people - even those with additional health problems - live longer than their thinner counterparts.
Some have argued that the pattern is a statistical one only because being thin, especially in old age, is often a sign or a result of serious illness - so the thinner people seem to have higher mortality.
The study results certainly do not give people permission to pack on extra pounds, according to Dr. Steven Heymsfield, the executive director of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Heymsfield, who co-authored an editorial accompanying the new report, said the difference in mortality between overweight and normal weight people is probably very small.
"That's actually a very small number. It's probably only statistically significant because of the large number she had in her study," he added.
Also, there are concerns that body mass index (BMI) - a measurement of weight in relation to height - is not an accurate measure of someone's health risks.
For example, Heymsfield said a soldier may be considered overweight but still be healthy, because he or she has more muscle mass.
"It's not a good marker for body fat or health risk," he said.
There is also confusion around what BMI should be considered "normal," which is why Flegal and her colleagues conducted their analysis.
Past studies looking at the link between BMI and death used varying ranges to describe normal weight, overweight and obesity.
"There seems to be a lot of confusion about this whole area, and part of the confusion is that people are using a bunch of different categories," said Flegal.
For the new analysis, the researchers, who published their results in the Journal of the American Medical Association, used data from past studies, and classified the risks according to BMI categories accepted by the World Health Organization and the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
Those organizations consider a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 normal weight, between 25 and 29.9 overweight, and 30 or above obese. They further subdivide the obese category, though - with a BMI between 30 and 34.9 designated grade-1 obesity, and anything above 35 grades 2 or 3.
The researchers reviewed databases of medical research and found 97 studies that looked at weight and mortality risk. Combined, Flegal and her colleagues had information on about 2.9 million people from around the world and 270,000 deaths.
Being obese - in general - was linked to an 18 percent greater risk of death, compared to being normal weight. Being severely obese - grades 2 and 3 - was linked to a 29 percent greater risk of death.
However, being merely overweight was linked to a 6 percent decreased risk of death compared to a normal weight person, while being slightly (grade 1) obese was linked to a 5 percent lower risk.
The study cannot say why there seems to be a link between being overweight or slightly obese and a lower risk of death.
"We don't have the data to look at the physiological mechanisms, and that wasn't our goal," said Flegal.
"Our contribution - I hope - is just to summarize it to show what other articles are showing," she said.
For Heymsfield, the findings reinforce the common belief that increased weight is tied to an increased risk of death, but highlights the fact that someone classified as "overweight" is not necessarily "very unhealthy."
On the other hand, he warns, important markers of health, such as blood pressure and cholesterol, do respond to minor changes in weight.
"So gaining that extra 10 or 20 pounds can put you into a dangerous category, and it's important to find out if you're one of those people," he said.

279 this morning. Need to get this weight off so I can be around for the baby gracing us with his presence in February.
Good luck all!
-
210.4 with a goal of 175 by elk season
-
Time to get rid of the lingering College Football weight! 272 Best of luck to everyone! Goal weight of 235.

Here is what I have so far: (let me know if there are any spelling errors, or other changes that need to be made). You can post your weight as often or as little as you want - and will upload the spreadsheet as often as needed.

is it too late to get added? I am in at a lean mean 253# with a goal weight of 220#
-
My weigh in weight is 260.6
Goal weight is 220
-
go ahead and add a goal weight for me of 140
-
Wish we had a Biggest Gainer competition! I somehow managed to lose 15 pounds (10% body weight) last year without really trying a whole lot. I used MyFitnessPal to help track things, which helped a lot.
Anyway, now I want to get back to where I was, just do it by bulking up muscle, not fat, which is actually more daunting to me than losing weight!
Going in for surgery on the 17th, so it will be interesting to see where I find myself in 6 months.
-
Never too late to join in. Just post your weight the date you join.
-
wranglernqtrhorses, thanks for taking the time to track this. It's greatly appreciated.
-
Here is a motivational dinner that is low in calories and carbs....so it will work for just about any diet. OH yeah and it taste great!!
Trout (triploid) garlic pepper seasoning with a little lee and perrins sauce oven baked with a side salad of fresh mixed greens.
I will use the left over fish to crumble over a salad for lunch today.
Cheers
-
Very nice...looks pretty darn good...now I'm hungry.
-
OK, I'm signing up. 146 this morning. I'd love to be 129. (Well, I'd love to be 120, but breaking that 130 barrier would make me feel like hot stuff. :) )
-
weathergirl, were waiting...... :chuckle:
Sheesh...give me a minute. I couldn't decide if my goal should be 129 or 130. Of course the husband was no help, since he was saying what about 115... >:(
-
Nice job Weather...way to jump in.

Ironic - I prefer my wife to gain 15 lbs to 130, and she prefers to stay at 115!
-
uh oh, guess he doesnt know what NOT so ever say :o

This website was mentioned in Consumer Reports: http://www.healthywage.com/ (http://www.healthywage.com/)
They have different ways you can make money losing weight. One challenge is to pay $150, and as long as you lose 10% of your weight within 6 months (I think that's what it is) then you get $300, for a net gain of $150. Sounds like a good incentive!
I think there are also group options and other things, but I didn't read it all...
-
I'm still on break from work so it's hard not eating tons of goodies but I'm at 244 today. Down 4 lbs!
-
Ok, sign me up, wife 1/2 of IBspoiled! The other 1/2 is in hibernation/cookie eating mode! :yike:
Starting today at 163 hoping for 135. But mainly just fit and in shape to climb those mountains with my other 1/2, so when he says we can be over to that ridge in 15 minutes it is closer to 15 minutes than it is 2 hours! :chuckle: Of course you guys don't know how far he thinks he can get in 15 minutes! :bash:
-
Starting today at 166, goal is 135.

We are 5 days in, I hope everyone is still holding strong. I'm on a 1300 calorie/day (low fat and carb) plan with lots of exercise. It's painful but will be worth it when I reach my goal in 10 weeks.
-
Doing well....low carb breakfast, at the gym just finishing up,. Down a few alreafy.
-
Hope everyone is strong...and sticks with it, I know I will. My challenge will be keeping it off as I always seam to go back to my bad habbits. Kiddo's go back to school next week and I plan on starting in with the exercise. I hate the gym so my exercise consists of walking and hiking. Mostly hiking with my coyote rifle, just in case the opportunity arises for me to put more point in on the coyote madness thread.
-
Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint and don't get discouraged if the weight is not just falling off of you. There will be some guys, especially us bigger/heavier guys who will drop some serious weight right off the bat and some folks will barely budge, don't let that discourage you. It'll come off, I promise, make good choices and exercise and it will start to come off.
-
A marathon it is, carb loaded tonight at tomatoe street :bash: but it was so good :chuckle: I was still holding at 243 this afternoon. I think it helped pulling the girls up the sled hill over and over yesterday.
-
Well, I'm off to a slow start. I've come down with a cold and have been sick since I signed up. Consequently, as some may have noticed, I have been on this site more than I thought possible, getting caught up in all the conversations. (I'm starting to understand lokidog's addiction :chuckle:) I guess facebook was just moving too slowly for me these past couple of days.
Anyway, no exercise yet, as was the plan. Now the trick is to not be discouraged by my slow start.
-
my 2 friends for this week, I can't recall who but I thought someone else mentioned torn rotator cuff injuries? anyway since I have never had my shoulder repaired this rowing machine is helping with rehab & strengthening it without too much added pain, I been going 3.2-3.5 miles in 30 minutes daily
[smg id=11904]
the other is 1 of my favorites because you can burn 1.5-2 times as many calories in the same amount of time as any other machine on my floor, starting easy & only doing 152 floors and 3.2 miles in 30 minutes daily.
[smg id=11903]
remember, baby steps at 1st. don't jump in too hard if you've been taking it easy for a while and advice I give new members is stay away from the scales for the 1st few weeks because you might gain weight initially, pay attention to how your clothes fit and weigh in after 2-3 weeks so as not to get discouraged.
-
Alright, put me in on this one. I want to do the Lake Stevens 1/2 Ironman Triathlon this year so I need to drop a bunch. A peak at that race will give me a couple weeks to recover before the opening weekend of bear season. Anyone around Whatcom County that wants go for a run, mt. bike, road bike, or swim Lake Padden after it warms up feel free to PM me.
Weighed in at 245, Goal weight of 215.
-
It is encouraging to me to read that people are still joining up!
-
So far so good :-) May have had a chocolate or two the other day BUT did not let the minor slip discourage me ((as it normally would..)) Those chocolates won't gain me 5 pounds.. Lots of salads and proteins, almonds, and fruits! Oh and lots of water of course!
-
Heading to the gym in 30!
-
Good Work! The only thing that keeps me going Mon-Fri to the gym is knowing I have Sat and Sun off!!

Been doing the brown rice, veggies and fruits and protein thing. Friday night is cheat night, and yes the pizza and wine was fine. Just enough exercise to know how deconditioned I am, baby steps it is. Im in for the marathon.
-
meat vegetable, meat vegetable, meat vegetable......blah
evening walk with doggies not bad
entire household going into disrupt mode :bash: :bash: :bash: my exercise plans may end up derailed for another week gonna try and at least do some sort of yoga/pilates/crap here at home.....but with dogs and school and :bash: :bash: :bash: my time for me just got slim again....of course I will be walking to school and back twice a day 4 days this week so thats something

Goal is 200 my biggest goal will be 180!!
"LET'S GET IT OFF"!!!!!!

I found this on the Cameron Hanes web sight, thought I would share,
What is a Workout?
by George Allen
A workout is 25 percent PERSPIRATION and 75 percent DETERMINATION. Stated another way, it is one part physical exertion and three parts self discipline. Doing it is easy once you get started.
A workout makes you better today than you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind, and toughens the spirit. When you work out regularly, your problems diminish and your confidence grows.
A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It is the badge of a WINNER — the mark of an organized, goal oriented person who has taken charge of his or her destiny.
A workout is a wise use of time and an INVESTMENT in excellence. It is a way of preparing for life’s challenges and proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what is necessary.
A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to OPPORTUNITY and SUCCESS. Hidden inside each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are the triggers that can release it.
A workout is a form of REBIRTH. When you finish a workout, you don’t simply feel better, YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF.
-
weigh in today...315 Glad to see I am making headway
-
Put me down for a current of 241........the game, beer, wings, and other foods hurt me yesterday but hey....I'm down 9 right off the bat. Been working hard at the gym and cutting a lot of extras out of my food intake.
-

What Machias says...Think long term. You have a long time. I always gain a few right when I change what I eat, then it starts to drop. A little at a time. Discouragement Kills. Think about tomorrow and the next day, let the scale go for a couple of weeks and look ahead. It will work out if you even stick to a plan most of the way.
-
248 this morning. Down 4.4lbs first week. I've done this enough to know I'll plateau soon enough, and then it's time to ramp up the weights and cardio. Serious baby steps for me, though, low back cramping and VERY slowly strengthening it back. Stuck 100% to the eating plan, including Friday night cheat night. Already looking forward to Friday!
-
291# down 2 pounds this week. Thanks for putting on this contest and keeping track of everything.

Absolutely, just post your weight current weight in red and get started.
-
Are we suppose to post updates at certain times?
-
The thought process is about having a weekly weigh in for progress and motivation. NOT necessary or is not a requirement
-
Definitely not necessary. I personally think I may do it about every 3 weeks.
-
Was running behind this a.m. - almost bagged on packing food for the day. Timed myself, it took 8 minutes to put this together, including washing and cutting celery, cutting leftover grilled pork loin in 200 cal portions, and bagging pork, celery and pickles - and taking a cell phone picture :)

160 down 3.
For those with cold/coughs here is a home remedy if you want to try it. Both of my kids are coughing like crazy and I just got this into them tonight. They have been at their dads. I know garlic is an amazing immune booster and fights all kinds of things. Crush up a clove and eat it in a spoonful of applesauce or something if your really brave and want to beat a cold/flu. Also, apple cider vinegar is very good for you also. Just some ideas if anyone is interested. :hello:
1/2 c. Raw Honey
Half a lemon
2 fresh garlic cloves- don't use the pre-minced stuff. It's lost its strong medicinal properties.
a chunk of fresh ginger
2 teaspoons of powdered turmeric.
2 teaspoons cinnamon
pinch of black pepper (Just a pinch has an amazing effect on your body's ability to metabolize and absorb turmeric. Black pepper increases your body's ability to absorb turmeric by 2000%. That's not a typo! Two-thousand percent.)
Fill a small jar halfway with raw honey. Raw honey has active enzymes, 'good' bacteria, and tons of other beneficial stuff that normal, pasteurized grocery store honey doesn't have. Squeeze the lemon half into the honey and stir. Crush the garlic cloves. You don't want to pulverize them, or you'll end up with little bitty chunks floating around in the honey...just crush them one good time, to start the enzyme reactions in the cloves. I like to whack the cloves of garlic with the side of my meat tenderizer mallet, and I do the same thing to the ginger. Drop them into the honey and stir. Stir in the spices. Store this in the fridge, because the cold feels good on hot, scratchy throats.
How to take it:
Take a spoonful as needed, avoiding the chunks of garlic and ginger unless you just really like the taste of garlic. And it is all food so no medicinal overdose to worry about.
-
So I'm back in the saddle after the first. How do you register for the competition? Is it based on TOTAL weight lost or Percentage to starting weight? Any info would be great without having to sift through 15 pages...
-
I put it all on Page one, first entry. No registering, just put you starting weight in red and we will track it. Total % wins. Jump right in!
-
Ok 221 was my starting weight last Tuesday, as of this morning 219
-
wow, just bought a scale, havent had one in six years. heaviest of my life, weighed in at 248 lookin for 180 by september, time to buy some running shoes. going to check in each week to shame myself if i dont have my $*** together
-
219.8 this morning, down 4.2, wahoooo!
-
Nice job there Mark...keep at it. The scale was kind this morning....not ready to post another weight yet but I am motivated. I'm feeling good and the diet changes and gym time are paying off. It feels good to say no thanks to the brownies. My motivation is helping my wife as well. Keep it up everyone because it only gets harder to stick with it and keep doing all the right things.
Also...don't let your routine get stale. Those miles on the bike feeling easier...well, then go hit the stair climber first, then the bike. Weights felling lighter...work a different set or weight interval and mix it up. I'm looking forward to the next clear cold day...I've got a hill I plan to climb. Why? Why not.

183 Down 2#
-
not gonna post my weights each week thinking maybe once a month....because yesterday I was down to 175 and today I am up to 180 being a girl sucks....... :bash: :bash: :bash: and this is why I threw my scale away back in my teens.....
-
248, down one lb.
ET
-
Runamuk, I get that. I don't plan on posting weight each week either. I rarely get on the scale. Your right being a girl sucks and being a girl our age sucks even worse! I read in a book last year that most of our (girls) up and down weight is mostly water weight. If you drink lemon water throughout the day it helps to keep from retaining water. I'm trying to get in the habit of drinking the lemon water. Sometimes I love it and sometimes, I just want plain water. I keep a 64oz jug by my sink and try and drink two of them per day. I use an old gatorade bottle. For me it works because my teeth are sensitive to cold and so having room temperature water is ok with me and it makes it easy to monitor my water intake. :hello:

I love lemon water and went and bought some raw apple cider vinegar to love it and it helps kill sweets cravings for me for some reason...I only drink room temperature or warm water and I drink 1-2 liters ..... I dont eat much salt .....but all my life my weight has a pretty normal fluctuation of about 10 lbs :bash:..... for years I rounded to 130 because any given day I could be as low as 122 or as high as 136 ...so for me losing 10 lbs is kinda meaningless because I never know if its real weight loss or just another low day.......oh well gonna keep walking and trying to not eat sugar/bread/carbs you know stuff that tastes good...lol

I am at 267

Kc. Give that stuff up for life and you'll be better off.

No more loss last couple days but no gains!

Good luck to all! Remember what Machias said, this is a marathon. Pounds drop for a little bit, then you'll plateau. Keep the faith! Watch your portions and get your exercise. Try and do an activity every day. Don't overdo it and injure yourself.
Even if you don't win the contest, the best thing you can win out of this is healthier habits so that you aren't in this contest in the future! Make lifestyle changes, not extreme changes you can't sustain over time.

weighed in at 221 down 3, The wife and I have been hitting the gym 3 days a week working out slowly, she a lot better workout partner than I thought :) She loaded the "LOSE IT" free app on my phone, it is a little time consuming to use at first but you get use to it, that app was a pretty good eye opener as far as calorie intake... good luck all
PS. Miller 64, 2 of them = in calories 1 micro beer

214 This morning! Pretty good start.
Can we sticky the chart for easy reference? Or where can I find it?
-
Beautiful afternoon for a shortsleeves walk. My lower back is still binding, shins and ankles hurting within 10 minutes, but at least the intensity of the low back pain is decreasing! Baby steps ...
-
only down 2 lbs but not surprised since after taking time off you will gain muscle weight as you lose fat weight so will gain weight at first. feel much better and can already do more than a week ago without suffering the DOMS, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, usually happens 2-3 days after you start a new program.
-
Just tripped across this. I'm in as I actually started on my own on the second. I have dropped 4 pounds since then from 237, I'll start today here .
233 heading to 205 by August.

-
Thats what.....never mind.
-
Lots of people are doing well, it sounds like, which is great. Anyone else need a do-over like me? Just got over a cold...now I want to shake the feeling that I'm behind before I start. Am I alone on this? :( Anyway, I'm going to start right........................now.
-
Dont worry about the late start....better late than never.
-
Lots of time left Weathergirl, this goes through August.
-
Lots of time left Weathergirl, this goes through August.
Yeah, I know. I think I was mostly wanting to hear someone say they needed to start over too so I don't feel so alone. :chuckle:

I got your back  :chuckle: I started but am not progressing like the guys......
-
OK, thanks...feeling better already!
-
Nope I'm a start over too, the flu knocked me on my butt. And I guess placing an order for girl scout cookies tonight probably wasn't the best idea, but gotta support my niece :chuckle:
-
we need a "bitching about being hungry" thread
I agree! I skipped my coffee and mountain dew this morning. Body thinks its in shock.
bone you can still have coffee and the dew just match it with water for each!
-
I'm in, starting weight is 305.
-
I need to go buy a scale so I can start this marathon!
-
So I just finished a six mile run and had to pause for a minute outside Saddlerock Brewing and watch people eat pizza with a beer.
 This is horrible, all these veggies and fruit are doing terrible things to my insides that are use to McD's and ice cream.
-
I need to go buy a scale so I can start this marathon!
scales are evil......its the most awful thing you can do to own one...... :bash: :bash: :bash: mine is free to a good home if anyone wants it :chuckle: :chuckle:

I haven't weighed myself again, but can feel a difference. Probably update the 1st of each month. My goal is 180.
Also, I agreed to donate. Is there someone in charge of collecting the donated items?

Well been going to the gym 5 nights a week and man is the guy that owns the gym kicking my butt!! On a 6 week muscle building program, which has its ups and downs. I'm not losing weight well maybe a pound or two but I'm gaining muscle and losing fat. After the 6 weeks I do know what he has in store for me. Feel a whole lot better now that I have been going. High reps low weight. Sounds like everyone else is doing good! Keep it up guy!!!
P.s. doesn't a big burger sound amazing haha!! :chuckle:
-
Finally got my scale back official starting weight 359.8 pounds
-
Alright....ready to post a progress weight for me. Few days ago I was sitting at the 239.9 mark per the scale. Was I having a good day and broke into the 230's and would it last? I wanted to make sure. This morning it says 239 on the money. One pound in two days means it wasn't a fluke. I'm happy with my progress and treated myself to an iced mocha and a muffin this morning. I've got a good lunch planned and will be at the gym after work to keep it up. I do feel a bit better and am sleeping better. There are other benefits as well but I'll leave that alone.
Keep up the work everyone...weekend is here....be strong but remember....reward yourself a little here and there.
-
Strongly recommend allowing yourself a scheduled cheat day. I would have faltered at least three times this past week if I didn't have Friday to anticipate. Yay cheat day!
-
I am afraid to weigh myself, so much left over holiday food. I think I just finished the last bit of it. :bash:
-
Ok count me in, weighed in this am at 278.4 , goal is to be down around 225
-

Excellent idea!
-
Think of it as a reward system. I'm good all week but the wife and I have a date night tomorrow....don't think for a second I'm not having some pretzel sticks with blue moon cheese sauce and a pint!
-
Ok, a little late but I'm in!
Starting weight is 241
I can't make the numbers in Red Smart phone not so smart!
Just let me know if you got it!
Since having back surgery last year and the Holidays I could lose 40 lbs.
-
Started at 255 and after a solid week at the local YMCA, I'm seeing some progress. Just weighed in at 249 and that's after having lunch and re-hydrating after my morning workout. Started Mon shooting baskets for 90 minutes then did 2 1/2 miles on the cross ramp elliptical trainer. Tues did an hour of shooting around, then 3 1/2 miles on the elliptical trainer. Wed I messed around in a raquetball court for an hour working on serves and my short game, then put in 5 miles on the elliptical machine. Thurs, I could tell I wasn't completely recovered from Wednesday's workout so I shot around for an hour, then did a short 2 1/2 miles on the elliptical trainer. Today I felt a little more spring in my step, so I hit the elliptical machine and did an hour with a 5 min cool down and made it 6.17 miles and burned 720 calories. I like to vary the strain so I had it set to 2 minutes at crossramp 4, resistance 10, then 2 minutes at crossramp 10, resistance 14. As I feel my wind increasing, I'll up those settings a bit. When I finished, I did a light workout on the weight machines. Not really looking to add muscle, just want to firm up what I have.
One thing for me is I like variety to keep my interest, which is why I started the basketball and raquetball. After another week of getting in some semblance of shape, I'm gonna look for a raquetball partner, as you can burn some serious calories playing that game. I have to make sure I do some serious stretching beforehand to help prevent injury. Nothing slows you down or ruins your work out routine at my age than hurting yourself. There is also adult volleyball a couple days a week that I may try. I think I'm gonna vary how I use the machines too. I think Mon, Wed, and Fri, I'll go for distance and Tue and Thur, I'll up the resistance and go for short bursts until muscle failure. I'm taking weekends off for recovery. I may do some hiking/game scouting tho.
Last but not least, for me, as far as losing weight, I'm not changing what I eat as much as how much I eat. I was always one of those guys who could eat and eat and eat and not gain a lb. when I was young and more active. I can't get away with that now. So I'm keeping my portions much smaller. The one thing I'm staying away from is pop and beer.
Just hoping I can keep mentally on top of this.......... so far so good!
-

We're not going to collect the donations, the winners will contact the donor of their choice and arrange for the prize delivery.

Haven't read every post but I would like to throw out there for everyone to drink plenty of water daily.
I usually try and get in ten or so 8 oz glasses a day, nothing easier to drop weight early in a diet and it helps with the hunger pangs.
Whenever you feel like a between meal and snack treat, drink the water. I keep a 32 oz bottle on my desk and keep track of my water consumption that way.
Down to 232 today.
-
I saw this on another site. For those who like to have their coffee's and soda's and might I ad beer, everytime you want one, put that money in a jar and when you meet a certain amount splurge! It can also work with workout's, pay yourself for each workout and when you get to a certain amount do something for yourself. :hello:
I've been sticking to my workouts 6 days a week and 1 day off, at least until yesterday when the crud found me. I took all my remedies that I have posted and am almost over it today. I highly recommend them if you start to feel like you are coming down with the crud. I took all 3 throughout the day about 3x's each.
Here is another remedy.
3 cups water
3 Tbsp. honey
2 garlic cloves (just crush with the side of a knife)
boil and reduce until you have 1/2 cup of liquid, ad some fresh lemon juice and drink.
-
298.6 saw the post and got on the scales-almost 3 bills- something's gotta give. i"m in--better late than never
-
So sitting here scartching my head...been sicker than a dog for over a week. Bronchitis not the over kind :chuckle: coughing, haven't lost my appetite. Jumped on the scale yesterday. 331 down 3 lbs. I guess coughing burns calories :chuckle:
-
I not in on this but Ive gone from 214 to 193.Im quite happy at this weight, hang in there folks
Way to go Rasbo!
-
Weigh in this morning... 239 Down 6 lbs.
Cut out a lot of carbs, cut down on calories. I still "cheat" a little with a small piece of dark chocolate from time to time, but keep the calorie count down.
Got back to running again... ugh! Put in a few miles, but not as many as I'd wanted. Last week was endurance week at the pool, so that helped. The next two weeks are speed weeks so lots of sprint work. May go for a bike ride later, but it's damn cold out there! Probably opt for a run instead.
-
248, same as last week. Belt tells me I'm making progress.
-
268.8 down from 280.2
-
200.4 down 10 lbs...started the advocare 24 day challeng with my wife a week ago. It must be working.
-
287#Down 4 this week
-
156 Today, down 7 :IBCOOL:

Did good over the weekend...hiked or gym both days and enjoyed some beers and good eats on Sat night. Pants are feeling a little looser.

when my flu took a second round on me i lost alot of exercise time, i had NO energy! sadly i stopped barfing or that might have replced my workouts hahaha
-
I am not getting on a scale....for 3-4 days my weight jumped up and down from 170-182..... remember why I never owned one before....
I havent eaten much for the last 3 days, been walking to school and back in the cold and ice, which seriously blows....and under a constant state of stress.....think I need to start smoking again, couldnt breathe but stayed thin :P :bash: :bash:
-
I havent been on the scale since the competition started... Im afraid of what i might see. :chuckle: :bash: :chuckle: :bash:
Ive been to busy to hit the gym... i need to buckle down and just do it.
-
Because it's a competition I should have weighed before the morning poop :o But it always makes me feel better to wait till after :chuckle: 238 this morning with a goal of 195 by August 1. Been 25 years since I was below 205 so I would be thrilled to be anywhere between 205 & 195 come August 1. Quiting the smokes, Doritos and soda will be the real challenge for me.
-
RadSav....you are a completey sick twisted individual...............I DO THE SAME THING SOMETIMES!!!!!!!!!
Anywho.....I didn't this morning. However, I did hit the gym last night and had a very sensible dinner and skipped the cookies that were sitting on the counter. This morning I'm at 237.
-
RadSav....you are a completey sick twisted individual...............I DO THE SAME THING SOMETIMES!!!!!!!!!
You are not the first person to tell me that :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Anyone else totally FAILING at this?? Don't know what my problem is... Come hell or high water, I am GOING TO THE GYM this weekend...
-
277 this morning only down a little more than a pound from last week but im thrilled, been hitting the gym almost daily since september and hit my first weight loss plateau a few weeks ago, hopefully ive broken through that plateau
Anyone else totally FAILING at this?? Don't know what my problem is... Come hell or high water, I am GOING TO THE GYM this weekend...
try to find a workout buddy, i try to go with my roommate as often as our schedules allow and even when they dont we always ask if the other went to the gym and if we didnt we give each other a little static as to why, its a great why to keep yourself honest
-
Anyone else totally FAILING at this?? Don't know what my problem is... Come hell or high water, I am GOING TO THE GYM this weekend...
I do what I call a no hunger plan. I eat as often as I want, BUT only up to 200 calories at a time, minimum 15 minutes between. Nothing more than minimally processed, no wheat, no processed sugar, no alcohol, just lean protein, fruit, veggies, nonfat milk, rice, corn. Pretty much allows any 4 oz lean protein, fruit, veggie, up to 16 oz skim milk, I also allow myself coffee and diet cola, so I'm not weighing, measuring. Friday is cheat day, do whatever I want (wine!). Weigh in on Monday. I pack a cooler each morning Mon-Fri with more than I'll consume each day, ice pack, few cans of diet pop, 1-3 bananas, 1-3 apples, 5-6 clementines, other fruit, couple of cold-processed dill pickles (Claussen), 3-4 packs of 3-4 oz each grilled meats (boneless/skinless chicken breast or thighs, london broil, grilled pork loin). snacky treats include Fritos (corn, oil, salt), salt and pepper corn nuts. 1-2 Americanos with a couple of inches nonfat milk.
-
Can I get in or is it to late?
-
Anyone can join at any time, but their starting weight is whatever their weight is the day they join, so if someone joins in March or April, their starting weight is whatever their weight is on the day they join. Can't have someone join in March saying oh man I've lost X amount of weight since 1 Jan can I join in at that weight, sorry no. Post your starting weight by 1 Jan, or the date you join.
I found my answer. I'll weigh in tonight and start tomorrow.
-
248 today. Seem to have hit a plateau already. Guess I'll have to work my way through it. I worked hard this week. 6 miles on the elliptical trainer on Mon, Wed, and Fri. 4 miles on the elliptical trainer Tues and Thurs. Plus three tough games of raquetball all 5 days this week. Only down 2 lbs for the week, but definitely have more wind and bottom end.
Started yoga classes last night too.
-

Yes. I think I'm out of excuses now... Sigh...
-
Ok, so I've done a couple other goal oriented groups before. Not necessarily a weight loss group, but a goal oriented group nonetheless. What I've found to be a good motivator in groups like this is to post up your goals for the week, and report on how you fared in keeping those goals at the end of the week. It's kind of a way to hold yourself accountable to the group. We may or may not keep those goals each week just because life happens, but it's something to help keep us going.
I know some people are just changing their eating habits so it'd be difficult to post up goals about eating. But, many of us are using a combination of eating habits and fitness. So what you could do is something like this:
EX) My goal this week will be:
Run: 10 miles
Bike: 50 miles
Swim: 4000 yards or 2 hours
Gym weight training/cross fit: 4 hours
Other(insert activity): 2 hours
Calorie intake per day: 1500.
What do you all think? Should we give this a go?
-
290.4 been on it a week and down 8 lbs...saved myself about $40 this week by not buying beer and lost some weight---would like to drop another 60 by the time its over..
-
310 down 6 Takin er' slow and greasy!
-
Not sure how I missed this but I will play along. Starting weight is 275
-
Still at 307.4 after all the holiday eating (my dad stayed for a week and fed me bacon wrapped biscuits) I was up to 310 or more, now its coming off.
My goal for the week is to do 2 sets of 5 burpies everyday this week.
-
206 Elk season is only nine and a half months away.
-
237 down 2 more  Was a slow week for getting out to work out. Picked up some new digs for running in the cold so no excuses. (yeah right... ;) )
-
Well I guess I'll sign up. My scale says I'm right at 200, but I don't believe that pos. Can't be true. If I go to the doc's he'll say I'm more, but he stretches the truth. I'm not sure how this is gonna work out. I just started two 5 gallon batches of Mac & Jack's, and my freezer's full of pork. The hens started laying again, too - but I'll give it a try. I'm not making any promises, but I should weigh no more than 170. I'll admit I have a problem. I feel like an 18 year old trapped in an old man's body. So my goal will be to have 30 lbs. off by the first of July. 8)
-
Jumping in at 274. Hope to hit 200 and get me a little farther away from the reaches of the grim reaper....
-
Nice work Naches...
Just weighed in this am 194.2. Down just over 16 lbs in 2 weeks...Starting to think there is something to this advocare stuff my wife has me on. I have never lost that much weight that fast and I feel great. Keep it up everyone.
-
246, down 2 more. Down 6 for the first 3 weeks, AND the body composition scale says I've lost 11 lbs of fat. I've built a little muscle, can feel the aerobic improvement, and Saturday I bought a new belt to replace the larger one I had to buy last year.
-
152 down 11
-
Somehow I got 198lbs :yike: on my 175lb frame, this should help motivate
Gotta get with it, still at 198. anyone else work 96 hrs in just 5 days every week and then that 6th day really screws things up, sure makes it hard to stay on a schedule of healthy eating and even healthy sleeping when I do this for 2-3months every winter....
No more excuses
-
not budging here in fact after 3 days of eating careful and exercising the scale went up more.... :bash: :bash: :bash:
I quit....just gonna learn to like being a fat cow.... the stress I've been under is too much and seems to have me completely fried...for the moment it would be nice to not have a sinus infection again, and to have the panic attacks go away
-

It is very common at the start of an exercise program for weight to go up, the process of building muscle tissue involves increased intramuscular fluid as the muscle fibers are broken down and rebuilt. Once you cease increasing exercise and switch to a maintenance regime, that excess fluid will be pulled off and weight will go down. This is independent of the fat loss that results from decreased caloric intake and/or increased calories burned. For any event with a weigh-in, where you need to be under a maximum weight, you should plateau your exercise regime for at least a week prior to excrete that fluid edema from building muscle.
I am currently carrying about 5lbs of excess fluid because I am on an increasing exercise program. Don't give up yet!
-
310 Finally going in the right direction
-
281# Down 6 more.
-
292 lbs up a few, not off to a good start
-
down 230
-
312#
Started today, Ran across this today at work and had to jump on the scale when I got home. Maybe it will help to have HW looking over my shoulder :dunno: but it's worth a shot. Goal is 240#. I gained Sympathy weight with the wife during her pregnancy, just kept on adding a few pounds each year :bdid:
I have three incentives over the next six months:
1). My 11Yr old will be getting his license this year and hunting with me for the first time :IBCOOL:
2). Need to get extra life Insurance to protect the family. (Have to stop Skoal as well >:(
3). 30Yr reunion coming up this summer.
Good luck to everyone!
-
Oh yeah gain weigh muscle weighs more blah blah.....I am went and bought some fried chicken and potato salad.....dieting makes me neurotic ..... gonna just go buy some new sweats that fit my fat ass.....
-
351Wow! I was 280 a year ago and have never been 351! My goal by the end of this camp is to be 241 but will be happy with 260. My starting weight is 351.

Getting close to the end of month one, hope everyone is holding strong. I'm so used to being hungry its part of everyday life now.
-
237 .........holding strong.
-
272.8 down 4.2 pounds from last week
-
Hunger is a good thing. It reminds us of how "fat" we are in other areas of our lives, too.
-
264.4 lbs Down almost another 4 lbs for a total of 15.6 lbs to date. Keep up the strong work people.
-
I started December 29 at 254, although my start for this competition was 252.4 January 1. So, down 12.2 lbs in 4 weeks.
If hunger gets to be an issue, I recommend allowing unlimited fresh fruits and veggies and lean protein. If you are "hungry", but those "don't sound good", you aren't really hungry - you have a craving. I hate being hungry, haven't been hungry once the past four weeks - but have dealt with mad cravings for various comfort foods. Being aware of the difference helps me beat the cravings.
-
Part of what can help with the hunger is drinking plenty of water.
-
Just a thought for those who hate water....try the MIO water flavoring. It is really good and has no sugers or calories. It can seem expensive, but it goes a long way. My personal favorites are blueberry lemonaid and fruit punch.
-
They also have the energy blends if you need a boost.
-
Good morning fellow losers....thought I would check in and report my progress. Weighed in this morning at 235.4. I'm very pleased with my first almost full month. I've noticed a difference already.....a bit less of gut.
-

I had huge allergic reactions this past week. I believe it was drinking that stuff...my 2 cents..anything withe chemicals that or something processed shouldn't be going into your body. After these past few days, I am really going to start paying attention to these so called "zero" calorie items...
Trust me, having you skin feel like its on fire and breaking out all over the place isn't worth it. I'm going back to water and pure veggie juice for now.

If indeed that was it, you don't want to continue to drink it. If you do have an allergy to something in the drind the next reaction could be much worse. With that being said, I have never had a problem with it. We drink it at our house like it is going out of style. Yummmmmm

Been going for 3 weeks now. Started at 255 down to 246. Slow and steady......slow and steady.

There is also a Walmart brand thing that is just pottasium. No calories, no sugar nothing. Not sure how it flavors, but I used it in Iraq to drink that nasty tasting water.
I am finally down 1 pound from my start weight. Slowly cutting out more and more calories and exercising more.

It is good stuff..I'll give it that. My wife was drinking it as well and never had an issue with it. Funny how everyone's body reacts to thinks.
Everyone keep up the good work this week. I didn't weight in but I have to buy a new belt so thats a good sign.
-
305 this morning
-
245 one more down since last week. Not impressed. Need to up the exercise.
-

Nothing lost nothing gained this week. Things I'm trying this week, adding lemon to my water, taking a cayenne pepper mixture (suppose to help with metabolism burn) Still feeling a little weak from being sick. Can't believe how long it takes to get your energy back up and how quickly you can get out of shape. I was only down for 4 days and missed 7 days of working out and feel like I am back at the beginning where I started in September. Guess I just have to push myself harder. Feeling good that I'm down 11 already, but really looking forward to getting into the 140 range again.
-
I weigh in every Monday morning so my official numbers for the end of January are 218.2 down 21.2 for the month. Its been painful, 1200-1300 lowfat/low carb calories and one hour of vigorous exercise per day.
-
Ouch. Sounds painful. Good job. I checked in at 198 this morning. Still eating plenty, but walking a lot. Going right now, even though it's raining. :chuckle:
-
Be careful you might melt!!
-
I'm at 172 right now. would like to get down to 160 or 155
-
Down to 351.4 that 8.4 pounds in two weeks not bad. I'll keep working at it I want to be down to 245 this time next year.
2.33 percent and counting
-
210
-
218 this morning :) down 6lbs now, feels good
-
208
Down 15lbs this month.
-
Just weighed in....... 199.8
Down 11.2 pounds! But also lots of inches (old jeans fit better, comments from co-workers, friends, family, and just plain feeling gooooood!) On day 28 of my self "No Soda Challenge" plus been a week of the flu bug.. Thankful for my boyfriend and our hopes for healthy and ready hunting bodies!
-
Well figured I would weight in this morning. Tipped the scale at 293. Lose 7 pounds. I have lost a lot of fat at the gym but replaced it with muscle. Been sick for the last 2 days hasn't been helping, missed 2 nights at the gym. Looks like everyone else is doing good! Keep it up everyone!
-
Lost 15 pounds of fat and gained 6 pounds of muscle in January. Liking the way I feel and the compliments I'm getting.
-
278# Down 15 pounds for January.

how are you determining how much muscle mass youre gaining?
-
-15 for January.
Still a LOOOONG way to go for me....
-
307.2 :o
Realistic goal I think is somewhere around 215.
I weighed 180 in the USMC, but I looked stupidly skinny.
302.8
So I lost 4.4 pounds for January. I didn't start exercising and dieting until two weeks ago, so I am happy with that. Hopefully it stops snowing here so I can start running.
-
Just a reminder - I need your current weight - not just pounds lost. Thank you.

Today's weight 167. 7 lbs lost!
-
Down to 258.0. Down 8.6 for January. I wan't it to come off slower than that.
-

how are you determining how much muscle mass youre gaining?
Tanita Innerscan body composition scale. It is not as accurate as more intensive methods such as water displacement or skin fold width, but a lot more convenient.
-
216, -5 pounds total...I think 221 was my starting weight! :)
-
Down to 242 from 255. Gonna be pretty excited when I hit the 230s. It's been at least 12 years since I have been there. And the 220s, I was last there in 94.
-
Down to 234. Didn't lose any weight last week. That's 3 pounds lost in 2 weeks. I'm okay with that, because it's my understanding, that if you lose it slow you're less likely to gain it back. On top of that, I had to take the belt in a notch.
I started a new workout and it seems to be working. It's cardio 6 days and every other day an additional workout with weights in the gym. If anyone wants it I can post up the link to it.
I signed up for a 5 mile St. Patty's Day run and a pseudo Olympic distance triathlon in June. I'm still tossing the idea around of doing a 1/2 Ironman in July. The race date is pretty convenient as it's 10 days before the start of bear season. So I'd be in top shape to go after bears, then it's just a matter of maintaining that condition through early elk season in September. Time to get training!
-
Ok, so waterfowl season is finally over, unexpected trips to the South are finally over, vacations are finally over, time to start this diet and weight loss thing. I weighed in January 1st knowing January was going to be a fat eating weight gaining month. I planned to start the first Monday in February, so here goes.
Weight this morning 250.1
My goal is 220 by May 1st and then 200 even by the end of June. Anything after that and less than 200 will be a huge bonus!
-
Just a reminder - I need your current weight - not just pounds lost. Thank you.

Thank you for putting in the effort to update this! :rockin:
-
Gonna have to wait a few days for an update from me.....got some chips and dip to work off from yesterday....Thanks for posting and taking the time to make up a list.
-
You guys are all doing a great job, keep it up! I wish I would have seen this earlier, might of been a good motivation to join in and lose some extra pounds as well. Regardless if you win the competition or not, you're still doing awesome and hopefully will continue on to reach whatever goal you set out for yourself :D
-
You can join anytime you want...I was going to weigh in today but after the yearly fundraiser auction at my daughters school this past Saturday, I am thinking I may want to wait till next week....I am afraid of what the scale may say!
-
down another 5 pounds
267.8
oh and Wranglernqtrhorses my goal is 220
-
150 Today, 13 down so far. Went on a hike yesterday for some coyote hunting with my other half. My new Sitka hunting pants that I just bought in September are barely fitting me anymore, I felt like one of those baggy pants boys you see on the street and my belt needs another hole to make it work right! Feeling great! Still working out 6 days a week, I go between cardio workouts and lifting. Water, Water, Water! I eat protein, fruits, vegy's, & oatmeal. I also have started making sure I eat coconut oil as a good fat. I put a Tbsp in my smoothy's or in my oatmeal. :hello:
-
Ok , first day at the gym was today i thought i was about 265 but i was actually 273 :o.I didn't do anything to lose any weight last month but hope to really stick with it now.
-
Good Morning. I forgot to post yesterday. Starting 275, started a bit late, so only 2 weeks in and down to 269
for a 6 pound loss so far!!
-
Not even looking until next week due to the 2 days of debauchery over Superbowl Weekend!
-
haven't been able to post on here in a while but I'm down to 296 as of this morning. Probably would've been down a few more if it wasn't for super bowl weekend :bash:
-
I quit so cross me off
-
Hope you reconsider Runamuk. We're here for you.
-
I quit so cross me off
You can't stop once you start. Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned Biggest Loser Contest! :chuckle:
-
No progress since last week!
-
Sooo... I'm a COMPLETE failure and have done nothing but gain since the begining of the year... :'(
BUT... I'm not giving up! I haven't managed to find the motivation myself, so I decided to enlist the help of a personal trainer. It's certainly not going to be cheap, but I waste money on FAR worse... I figure If it helps get me jump started then it's worth it!!! So will be working with her two days a week for the next 6 weeks. Nervous but excited!!! Wish me LuCk!!
-

Thanks! I know once I get back into it, it will be smooth sailing.. I used to be in great shape and spent hours in the gym... Somewhere along the way I got way off track... Gotta start somewhere I suppose! :)
-
Haven't read every post but I would like to throw out there for everyone to drink plenty of water daily.
Been on vacation since Jan 16. Tried hard on portions and down to 228
-
Well....slowed down last week, but currently at 260.6 Down almost 20 lbs.
Goal for February is to 250.....My wife laughs at me now because I am putting my pants on without unbuttoning them :chuckle: :chuckle: Now if I could only chip away at the gut a little faster.....come on six pack abs :chuckle: :chuckle: or just a pony keg...

302.8
So I lost 4.4 pounds for January. I didn't start exercising and dieting until two weeks ago, so I am happy with that. Hopefully it stops snowing here so I can start running.
299.4
-3.4 for the week, -7.8 total. Run you can't quit, just like this board. Once a member always a member. Besides August is still a long way off.
-
243 here. I seem to have hit a plateau. Been up and down the last two weeks. Hit a low of 241, thenhit Super Bowl weekend and went back up to 245. was down to 242 Thurs, then back to 243 today despite working hard yesterday and this morning. Gotta break that 240 barrier!
-
Down to 214, which i think is 9 pounds. For those of you hitting a plateau...work harder. And for those who quit...SHAME on you! (Yup it's a good old fashion shaming). TBH, I was pretty unmotivated to start the year, but then I started planning my hunts, and one of them is a pretty serious physical challenge. Now I'm in full gear.
If you guys are having trouble finding a good diet, I'd recommend the Paleo diet. It's nice not having calorie restrictions.
-
266.8 This morning, even ran/walked a 5K yesterday at the gym. Feels good!
-
I stalled from my loss in January, but still under 300. That will have to do this week.
-
Weighed in today at 188.0...22 lbs and counting.
-

We are in EXACTLY the same place. February is just up and down, low of 241, looking for that break!
-
Stuck on 150 again this week. I am starting a 3 day fast/cleanse to see if I can break through the plateau and get dropping again. Really want to be in the 140's!
-
Went up two lbs. then back down to 197. Climbed a small mountain. Felt like Everest. Been exercising a lot lately, and eating a little less. I guess I'm a late bloomer.
-
266 This morning, nice week last week, don't want to much off to fast, want to be able to maintain after all this!!
-
215 this morning....YE HAW.....pants are fitting good. and it wasn't to hard to put my boots on, going for a run after work,,,, hardest part is the will power,,, saying no to the empty calories and carbs of more beer and then the midnight after dinner snacks.... I am doing the Columbia tower run at the end of March and sure would love to loose another 5 by then...Good luck to you all.........
-
351Wow! I was 280 a year ago and have never been 351! My goal by the end of this camp is to be 241 but will be happy with 260. My starting weight is 351.
343.8 tonight. Lots a little just watching what I eat now time to step up the workouts!
-
Stuck on 150 again this week. I am starting a 3 day fast/cleanse to see if I can break through the plateau and get dropping again. Really want to be in the 140's!
Change your workout plan. If you've been doing the same thing for a while, add some interval work and maybe some weightlifting. That'll do more to get you through a plateau than fasting. All that does is slow your metabolism down even more.
-
NEED to get back on track but slacking on will power lol Still hitting the gym but cravings and such got the best of me this weekend.. Slowly working on getting back on track to keep moving forward!
-
I just found this thread
chart says I'm suppose to be 185 - I'm a bit north of that :chuckle:
Honestly, I don't see how I'm suppost to be 180 something :dunno:

JLS, my workouts are a combination of cardio and lifting. I rotate through about 10 workout dvd's so I'm not sure how I might change my workout and further. I've considered running, but I'd have to go somewhere to run, no place around our home. But 2 days into my cleanse and I'm 148, I'll take that.

I'm 5'2, I'm the wife of IBspoiled we use the same user name. So for a girl 148 is not light! :chuckle:

Gotcha
-
I forgot about signing up here, I'll have to get a weight posted soon. I hope I haven't gained to much! :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
So... Had day 2 with the trainer yesterday... If I wasn't before, I am now PAINFULLY aware of JUST how out of shape I am!! :chuckle: Co-workers are getting a kick out of me having to use the arms of my chair to lower myself into my seat! LOL
All whining aside, it feels good to be sore again. Gotta start somewhere...
Hopefully next week I can be back down to where I started the competition at... lol
-
So this week I have been tower climing training. Damn hard work. I am sweating my butt off. I bet when I jump on the scale at home this weekend I probably lost 10 lbs. We will see. Training is Poulsbo at Gravitech. Top notch place. Staying the week here.
-
Down another 4 pounds dropped below 350 down to 347.4 That's 4 more pounds. 11.4 LBS in a month not bad. Need to keep this up best friends wedding is at the end of July and i really want to be below 300 LBS.
-
Keep up the strong work everyone....The weather has been nice on the east side and I just got back from a nice hike. My personal goal for the month of February is 255 which would put me down 25 in two months. I am haveing to work for it now.... that is good, It feels good to be back in the woods.
-
I'm in!

-
Down another 3 lbs this week to 344.3 That 15.5 lbs so far Going to be under 300 before Aug if it kills me!!!!!

been bouncing between 264 and 266 last few days
-
228 Finally below 230! It's been a few years since I've been down this low. Down 17 pounds since the beginning of the year!
Ran a 5K with my best friend on Saturday. We're going to do a 5 miler for a St. Patty's Day run next month. Triathlon season is coming up pretty quick, keep at it!
-
217
-
Hanging in there at 234. I've been pretty bad about my diet the last week but am back at it.
-
Finally dropped a few. Down to 195 today. Been hiking more and more. I don't seem as hungry right now for some reason. :dunno:
-
Congrats to all those loosing and those still attempting to. If anyone wants to send some my way they are more than welcome. Between the medicine and the 5 miles every weekend chasing yotes have dropped from 185 to 160 since the first of the year. eating everything in sight and no you don't want the meds I'm taking.
Looking forward to donating the Custom jacket come AUG

I did not join this weigh loss challenge on here but I just finished mine that we did at work. Myself and about 25 others started a 6 week challenge, for the most body weight percentage lost. I started in at 259 lbs. I worked my ass off dieting without cheating, excercised every day for 1-2 hours, sometimes more with the exception of 2 days. And the results were in this past monday. I lost a total of 42 lbs in the 6 week challenge for a total of 16.20%
It was a hell of a 6 weeks with lots of mental struggles fighting off every urge thrown at me. I now plan on maintaining my current weight of 217 lbs just with more weight lifting and reducing my cardio. I feel so much better about myself and glad I did it. Keep up the good work to all that is involved. Its a tough challenge but very rewarding in the end!!
-
Weight update as of this morning 262
-
147 for this week,   Down 16 so far! Looking forward to hitting that 20lb mark! ;) Keep up the good work everyone!
-
263.2 as of this morning
-
I have been seeing pretty good progress this week. I am hoping to keep it up through the weekend and have a decent number to post. I am getting very excited about the shape I am getting in. Can't wait to put my body to the test in the woods.
-
299.4
-3.4 for the week, -7.8 total.
298.4
Only 1 pound this week. Not too bad considering I got food poisoning on Monday, so I didn't exercise at all except yesterday.
-
290 last night. After dinner, so there is hope. Thats 25 down since Jan 1. 40 more to go and I will be thrilled.
-
183.6 this am!
-
259 This morning
-
Feeling like a slug....back is out of whack again and I've got to take some days off. Keep up the effort guys and gals.
-
251, going the wrong way :bash:
-
201.0, down 17.2 for Feb and down 38.4 since Jan 1.
-
147 again this week. I seem to loose a little and then hold it for a week or two and then drop a little again. I've switched my workouts to mainly cardio and core workouts for now. I think doing to much weight lifting is adding to my non weight loss. I'm going to try and get to my goal and then I can ad weights back in more heavy. ;) Keep up the good work everyone!
-
I am running right at / around 256 lbs and having a heck of time right now getting to / or below 255...So today I got serious. I went on a 5 mile hike that started at 2700' and climbed to 3700' in the first 3/4 mile. The rest of the hike was up and down and we ended at 1300'. We carried packs for weight and and were in some fairly treacherous terrain where we did a lot of side hilling and climbing (use the word lightly) on small rock outcroppings. Needless to say my legs are not liking me tonight, but I feel good. My new goal is to do similar hikes once a week. If I stick to this goal the pounds will start to fly off.
-
208! Slow but steady...
-
271#7 pounds for February

-
Stuck at 298. Weather has been horrible, so no running this past week. :'( Ordered a treadmill, but it won't be here until Wednesday.
-
255 This morning!!! :)
The Golf, Hockey, Soccer, and Softball have been paying off!!
-
238 First time under 240 in at least a dozen years.

Awesome, can't wait to hit the 220s.
Congratulations! I need to man up and git er done. Still hanging tough between 241-243 - same as all of February!
-
I just checked my BMI - turns out I'm 14" undertall:
The Height you entered is 6 feet, 11 inches. The Weight you entered is 243 pounds.
Your Calculated BMI is: 24.8
-
So I haven't posted anything because I hate to say I went from 331 to 334 the last two months. Being lazy. Now I got it back in order. Wife and I started diet on Monday. Bought a Bowflex from a co-worker and walking at lunch time when it isn't raining. So this morning 327. I haven't put a goal but I would like to get to 250.
-
148 this week. Up 1lb. >:( But I haven't been exactly eating great. Getting tired of always eating healthy, so I took a week off. I'm still doing all my workouts mainly cardio and core for now. I figured my BMI when I started at 29.8 which is the top of the overweight category. I am down to 27.1, but still have to drop to 24.9 to be at the top of the normal category for my height. So I'm wondering, so far I have dropped 16lbs and lost 2.2% in BMI which leaves me another 2.2% to loose to get to my normal BMI, does that mean I need to drop another 16lbs? I'm not looking to be a skinny minny, just an in shape, ready to hit the mountains girl. hmmmmm.
-
i dont put a whole lot of faith in the whole BMI thing, for example i was reading an article about the pros and cons of fitness indices BMI % body fat and what not, in the article to point out a flaw of the BMI they said that when Arnold Schwarzenegger won the mr universe (when he was in tip top body builder shape) his BMI was 36ish and thats considered obese and we all know the govenator was far from obese back then.
i havent posted an update in a while but this morning in weighed in at 263.4, i have no idea why i cant loose any more weight i eating right both type of foods and portion sizes im constantly improving on my run distance and stamina (ran an 11:45 mile yesterday new PR, and now can steadily get 2.25-2.5 miles in 30 mins) and im switching up my lift schedule and lifts to not get stale, my clothes and belt all say im getting trimmer and it shows in the mirror but that stupid scale keeps saying "no progress try again later fatty"
-
BMI doesn't calculate for Frame size or muscle. Myself at 10% bodyfat is still 50 pounds over what I should be according to BMI
-
yeah I don't follow the BMI either....everyone has different bodies styles....just feel good about your self that is how I see it.
-
Eeek, okay finally gunna start this Monday (and I'll officially weigh in then), late in the game I know but I have 0 motivation in the dark short days of winter.
^^and I agree with all of you on the BMI thing, sorry but I am NOT losing 65-105 lbs ( :yike: !?!) to be a "healthy" BMI lol, that seems ridiculous.
-
Down to 236. Now I'm starting to get excited! My ultimate goal is 200, but if I can get down to the mid 220s by the time I leave for Alaska next month, I'll be ecstatic. It's been about 20 years since I was that light.
I won't have as good of work out facility as I have now, but my workout buddy also commercial fishes in the same town I do up there and we've made plans to ride bikes and hike this summer. The local gym there does have weights and an elyptical trainer, plus there's a pool, so it's not all bad. Plus I'll be away from momma's tempting home cooking.
-
197.4
Forgot to weigh in the other day. Haven't gone down in weight much more but noticing A LOT in inches!!
-
299.4
-3.4 for the week, -7.8 total.
298.4
Only 1 pound this week. Not too bad considering I got food poisoning on Monday, so I didn't exercise at all except yesterday.
295.6
Didn't lose or gain anything the week before last, but it had snowed so I didn't get to go running.
My NEW treadmill was delivered and put together last Wednesday and I dropped 2.8 lbs for a total of -10.6
-
The heart palps seem to be working :o Finally making a move. Down four pounds to 233
-
325This morning. Got me a treadmill and it is setup in the garage.
-
Eeeeww. I don't like BMI! At 30.6 last Thursday. :'( But, it's better than one year ago at 33.2!
-
Had some Girl Scout cookies last night. Woke up this morning and I'm down another 3 pounds to 230. I think I might be on to something :chuckle: Perhaps I should write a diet book, The Coreg CR / Girl Scout Diet. I could be infamous :dunno:
-
Well this morning weighed in at 251

I hate publicly shaming myself...
Okay okay, joining in TODAY, official weigh in 231 / goal 195 (lol) -36 lbs.
No I'm not going to go by my BMI and lose 70-106 lbs, HA! I'd look like skeletor. I'm a solid 5'9 girl :chuckle:
-
247 this morning down 13# so for we are also during a contest at work and currently there is $800 in the pot, so even more motivation
-
205 That gets me to 29.4 BMI, no longer "Obese"! :IBCOOL:
-
Weighed myself this morning 256.7!!!! I am on my way to 240 for sure, I am making way better progress than last year. Also my workout plan has been stalled since the 21st of February (new baby in the house). It is odd how sleep deprivation makes you want to eat like crazy!! I am hoping by the first of April I can get back to the gym, and get rolling again. Keep up the good work everyone.

235 Down 20 lbs now, 30 from my all time high.
-
OK,
All of our family visits and trips are done. We are ready to get this thing going now. I didn't stick to it at all last year but am off to a fresh start this year and and a new committment to doing this right this time!
Officially starting today with an  official weigh in of 332 lbs. Man I miss playing rugby and wrestling, it was a lot easier back then! Realistic goal weight of 250 but really shooting for 225.
-
The Coreg CR / Girl Scout Diet is still working!!! Down another 5 to 225

Good Saturday morning everyone. Weigh in the morning for me 322down another 2. Now I am heading off to Coer D'Alene for a B-day weekend with my wife and her girl friend. Talk to ya all Sunday. Or if I find time to get on my phone. :hello:
-
Monday weigh-ins: 222.5 so -8.5 since Thursday, of which all I'm sure is only water weight lol, but it's still weight :)
-
241.6 as of this morning. Down from my start, which is a good direction. Time to start getting more serious about it.
-
Not much change last week, now 295 lbs. -12.4
-
I'm virtually shut down on my progress so far. My back is so messed up the chiro has me limited to 10 min of walking and 20 on the eliptical.....I"m gonna do what I can but don't want to get screwed up any worse....I'll be hosed for spring bear.
-
Weighed in this morning and scale said 246 I think its broke. I did nothing different than I have been doing. I am now waitin for it to start climbing but I will take it.
-
havent weighed in, in a little while this morning scale said 260.8 so its improvement but i dont know how permanent as the last two weeks my workouts have been pretty low intensity only got two runs in last week and no lifting
-
This morning was 252.6. Since January 1'st I am down 27.3 lbs. Just about half way to my goal.
-
Stuck on 150 again this week.
Change some of your workouts so that they are higher intensity, or do the interval thing and go low intensity-medium intensity-high intensity followed by a brief rest period. Then, do it all over again. Don't do intervals more than twice a week.
A lot of the weight you lose from cleanses is just retained water. Do you keep a food diary of what you eat during the day? If you're still plateaued, you might look at doing this. Sometimes we can make huge strides by really watching what we eat, it can be an eye opener for sure.
Good luck.

Ok, well I'm still at 150 again this week. Didn't post last week. :yike: So I have been doing tons more cardio and less weights to try and see if I am just lifting too much and gaining muscle intstead of loosing weight. I also went from doing a 30 minute workout to 40 minutes. I don't keep a food diary, but I'm really strict about what I eat and I rarely cheat. And if I do it is something simple like a small handful of chips or maybe 1 small cookie. But other than that, I eat mainly protein and fruits and vegy's. I decided I'd be brave and post a picture from this morning after my workout. So the beat red face is from that. :)

Have you taken measurements before you started this? You very well could be losing inches and gaining muscle! :) good job :)

IBSpoiled,
If you have the time, throw in a day a week where you do a long endurance workout. Your HR should be about 70% of max, and try to work up to about a 90 minute or more workout.
Variety is the spice of life when it comes to fitness. Keep up the good work 8)

JLS, that might be tough! I am a stay at home mom that homeschools our kids and I do have the other half of IBspoiled to take care of also. Not including all the chores around our farm of horses, goats, dogs, chickens etc. But I will try. Thanks for the suggestions. ;)

257.4 finally broke the 260 barrier :IBCOOL: puts me right around 20 pounds lost since the beginning of January
-
234 Still inching down.
-
218.4 down 4 more and a total of almost 16.
-
Heart palps are gone and so is the Coreg CR and Girl Scout cookies. Dangit! Now I'm stuck on 225. Doc told me to go out and get a bunch of Mrs. Dash seasonings to reduce my sodium intake. He says that will bust another 5 off this week. Should be depressed and lighter by next weekend :chuckle: Suppose to ease into cardio workouts again too so that should help as well.
-
218 this morning, -13 total so far.
^Radsav, I might try that as well, I forgot about Mrs Dash and it sounds like it might be delicious on some chicken. My food is so bland/boring I have to force myself to eat, I've basically cut out as much sodium from my diet as possible.
-
180.2 getting there. Almost down in the 170's
-
205 Not moving much lately...
-
150 This is getting almost depressing! I've increased my workouts from 30 minutes to 40 not counting warm up and cool down. I also did a 30 minute cardio this week, followed by a 3 HOUR hike with hubby. Our hikes are all uphill and all downhill on the way back so 1 1/2 hours both ways. My legs felt really strong and I kept my wind, so I know I'm getting in great shape. Just wish I could blast through my platue. Here is a typical day of eating for me. Oatmeal for morning maybe 1/2 cup, with a spoonful of coconut oil (good omega fat) a spoonful of honey and small amount of milk. Big salad for lunch with homecanned chicken and homemade fat burning dressing on it. Dinner is usually elk meat or chicken and vegy or popcorn with no butter and only small amount of salt. I try not to eat after 6pm. So hmmmmmmmmmm, I guess I'm stuck! :bash:
-
243 This morning, a little late.
-
235, up a lb over last week, but that's not bad considering I had a slack week working out and ate more than I have been. Should be able to start losing again by kicking things back up.

Sometimes on a strict diet my metabolism needs a big punch in the gut to get over a plateau. A single scoop of Coldstone Icecream and BAM! Almost the very next day I start to drop weight again. Works for me :dunno:

317 Bad thing is I agrivated my back this week from climbing towers on Monday. I guess that snowmobile riding on Thursday may have not done it any good either :chuckle:. Chiropractor tomorrow for me. So only worked out and treadmill on Wednesday.

217, only -1 this week... baby shower, clam dig, Easter... I have been bad haha.

262# -9 for March

Nice job you guys !Keep up the good work!

Well down to 242 down 1 pound the past 2 weeks. Hit a plateau I am assuming, time to gear it up a bit. Also great job to everyone keep it up!!

Salsa Chicken ( just cook in it salsa only great flavor) or chicken in a crock pot could help with the eating healthy.

Finally broke through my plateau! 147 today! :IBCOOL: Feeling great!
Good job! Was it the birthday cake?? ;)
I'm sure it must have been. :chuckle: I'll have to remember that key when I hit my next plateau! I'm doing a liver flush today. Been doing alot of reading up on the liver and how it can help you loose weight if you cleanse it. Because if your liver is toxic, it can make it almost impossible to loose weight with eating healthy and working out. Hopeing for some great results. ;)
-
I hate to say it but the last 2 weeks have been horrible...beer and food. Need to get back on track.

Oh I've never heard of that, I've always stayed away from cleanses but only because my lack of knowledge on doing it the right/healthy way. I've been weighing myself too often day to day (when I know you're supposed to do it only weekly) and now my scale batteries died :( haha.

Ya, weighing yourself daily can defeat you! Try and find a book called The Fat Flush Plan, it is a very well rounded plan and isn't a diet like other diets. She explains alot about your body and how doing certain things can help you liver, kidneys etc. which will help you lose weight. It is pretty simple to follow and mostly what I still do, after reading it last year. The basic plan is to drink cranberry water throughout the day with lemon water and eat proteins and vegy's and fruit and she teaches you how to use herbs and spices to assist you in weight loss. It is a really good book. :) You may also want to start with doing a parasite cleanse. Most people don't think about it, but all of us carry parasites just like animals. We use a product about once per year called humaworm. I think the website is humaworm.com Sometimes it is the parasites that cause so many of our food cravings, so getting rid of them can really help in weight loss also. :yike:

I weight myself almost everyday. First thing in the morning. It helps me stay motivated watching those numbers going down.

I was going to wait for tomorrow to weigh in but here ya go 303 over 31lbs lost. I also wanted to say that the doc has taken my off some of my blood pressure meds to. Was taking 2 different kinds now down to taking one. that makes me happy.
-
.. So I thought I would link this cheat-sheet for others who don't want to do the math (like me) to find your percentage of weight loss (since that's what the competition is based on). Just put in your start weight/then current weight and it will give you your percentage.

Well I haven't posted on here since the contest started. No reason too since I hadn't really done anything to post. I hopped on the scale this morning and was down 6 lbs. Now I'm motivated to get busy. I have a wedding in 2 months and would like to loose about 24 more lbs. I have a lot of work to do!

Well, I wish I did this contest before I got leaner. Hit the scale at 260 today, but on the plus side, My bench press increased to 325 this week. Getting stronger, is just as good as getting less fat. Especially if you can do both

Big milestone met today. I am no longer a 300lbs+ man. 299 35lbs lost so far and now 49lbs to my goal.

230 down 30# so far

327

Forgive me for I have sinned.... :( But after 4 long months I had to hit up the China Buffet, I just couldn't resist. :sry:
Truth be told, it was awsome while I was doing it but I now have a huge amount of guilt. As of a couple days ago I was at 246.3 lbs, down from 280. I guess a good cheat day will not kill me, but now it is time to get serious again.
-
254 # 8 pounds for April, it seems to be getting tougher to lose.
-
251 this morning. Only 21 more to go (going to try to lose it over the next 4 months).
-
Haven checked in in a while but I'm still bouncing around between 257 and 260. Kinda frustrated with the lack of wieght loss but I'm running faster and further and can feel I'm losing inches and toning up. Definitely in marketedly better shape than I was in September. I'd did pick up a copy of the insanity work out and plan to start that once I'm settled in after my move back to Washington hoping that will melt away some pounds
-
296 Still going down 38lbs lost so far. I thought 250 was a crazy goal for me but I am starting to see it maybe not by hunting season but maybe end of year.
-
Alright, I am back in. I ballooned up to 320 (had a little rough spell that was soothed by food). Started 2 weeks ago with a new attitude and am now down to 302. I am now determined to be in fighting shape before hunting season so I can keep up with my daughter and help her get her first bull! Gonna be a busy hunting season for us and I don't want to croak on her. :chuckle:
-
293 down 41 pounds so far.
-
Well after getting up to 260 I made a choice to loose a few pounds. Been working on it for about 2 months simply by eating right and working out 4-5 times a week. As of this am down 21 pounds 239. Gonna keep it going I would like to get to 230.
-
146 today, just been hanging out around this weight for a couple weeks again. Still working out and eating right, but stuck here. :bash:
-
293 down 41 pounds so far.
Still going down. I am drending when the spot were I level out. 290. Down 44lbs I have been averaging 2-3 lbs a week. Using a modified Weight Watchers diet, working out on a Bowflex 3 times and week and walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes almost everyday. My treadmill has a motorized incline on it. You can either do a program or push button to incline it. Even with all the house hunting and going through the closing appraisal I have still been pretty good with it. I suprise my self sometimes. I remember and quaote from a high school football coach I had. It is just mind over matter. If you don't have a mind, it doesn't matter.
-
Still stuck at 300, still down 20. With all the work in the garden, yard and pastures that I have planned for the next couple of days and next weekend, I'll be able to break that magic barrier. :IBCOOL:
-
Been awhile since I last reported and thought I'd share since there hasmt beenany recent activity. As of this morning I've lost a total of 121lbs in 16months and still climbing. Got about another 40 to go until I get back to Marine Corps standards so keep up the good work folks and don't stop, keeping pushing forward.
-
I am not at 287down 47. Your going the shrink away to nothing there PlateauNDN. awesome job.

been going for almost a week, every day and workiong out for about 45 min on different machines.
My goal would be to lose 100lbs.
Wish me luck :hello:
-
144 this morning Whoop, Whoop! 1 more pound and I will have lost 20 since January 1st and only 8 away from my goal. With summer and gardening and hiking and barrel racing my new horse, I should get there soon.
-
figured id check in. i have no idea where im at, i lost my scale in the move back to wenatchee from bozeman and have not replaced it due to financial reasons.
been running 3 miles at least 3 times a week and have been doing insanity workouts (insanity is an understatement for that workout program) when time permits. my summer job hit hard and heavy have been living in a motel during the week in moses lake for the last three weeks. been trying the best i can to keep a decent diet and not give in to take out and fast food garbage. and i have yet to join a gym here in wenatchee
although through all this craziness i have had to punch a new hole in my belt and even with that my belt is already starting to feel loose on my hips

Ok you exercise freaks I need to know your motivation I was working lots and exercising lots. It got me wore out and sick. Not getting enough rest. I am all better know but finding it hard to get motivated to go workout after a long day of work. How do you push yourself and what supplements do you us? Thanks

283 this morning down 51lbs. Haven't seen alot of people posting up. Has everyone dropped off the wagon :chuckle: :chuckle:. Hope everyone is still sticking with it.
-
I had to quit as I keep gaining even when I cut my eating and added exercise daily.... :dunno: I was becoming suicidal and close to bulimia again so I said screw it ....I guess i am now round and fat and have beat my highest weight ever 3 times inside 2 years.....gonna go see a doctor again and try and figure out what is wrong with me, probably be told its all in my head again but I have to try, then if this doesn't answer things I may take up smoking again and see about amphetamines/err prescription diet pills ....might work....

Picture on the left is taken in March and one on the right was taken today. The wife and I have lost a total of 91lbs.
-
As of Saturday I was down to 298. this is the first time in several years that I have been below 300. I might have put a couple back on for Father's day so I will re-weigh on Wednesday to make sure that I am back on track.
-
You guys are kicking butt! I have to weigh in to see how much I've lost over th past couple of weeks on mypost surgeryJello diet. :)

:yeah: I eat 5 meals a day at total between 1500-1800 calories a day and I also take a multi-vitamin pack once a day. Then I look in my closet and stare at my old uniforms and think how close I am to getting back in them. Find your motivation and stick to it. Oh and I'm also doing insanity plus running and uphill walking.
-
Have to share, my lovely wife is down 147 lbs since last October. As for me I'm down 10 lbs since this started
-
Moving has been tough. No work out equipment setup. Eating out because weare trying setup house and no time to cook. I am still maintaining 283. Must be moving boxes and climbing stairs.

started this "contest" at 278.4, bought a new scale yesterday and weighed in this morning. today im at 252, ive lost 26.4 pounds since i stated this in january, have had to punch 4 new holes in my belt and most of my wardrobe is at least a size to big now.
its crazy to think i started working out regularly last september, at that time im pretty sure i was north of the 300 mark and it took 20 minutes to "run" a mile. now i actually run a mile in 10 minutes. today an average workout is a 3 mile run followed by an insanity workout, haha 10 months ago this daily workout would have killed me.
-
good job Russ, re-read all of this from page 1 to today. fell out after doing the Bone Marrow donation in April for an unknown recipient. got back on the cardio machines and weighed in @ 239 this morning, 1st time in 3 years under 240. December 11th 2011 was 263. lots of inspirational posts here, keep up the good work guys and gals. for those who stagnated, fell out or gave up, just start over again like I did. down 11.6 from my start feels good, my friends and co-workers notice a difference in my appearance, alertness, activity level & happiness.
one thing I had to quote from all of my re-reading this morning,
Don't make the mistake I did last year and start off good and then stumble and not continue participating. We are all going to stumble sometime during the 243 days, it's going to happen. Just jump right back on the wagon and keep going
-
Jumped on the scale this morning 280 down 54lbs. Don't think I will reach my goal of 250 by the end on the contest but going to be close. I feel so much better now. Do a lot more at work and home and don't feel exauhsted. Hope you all are doing good.

I guess I'm whimp :bash: I've been on it for 3 weeks now -lost 12 lbs .....weighing 208lbs now .....need to loose 25 lbs more ....to be 183 ..... I've done a lot in last few years ....quitting smoking was the easiest - I smoked my whole life and was almost 2 packs a day :bash: - that is lot of dough now .....
Great deal Russ and Michelle = you guys rock ........
-
Ok everyone, I've made it to the 20lb weight loss. It has been slow going these past few weeks. I just hit one platue after another, but I am glad that I am keeping the weight off. This past weekend we did a 2 day hike. The places we go is by far not easy. This trip I had to carry an 18lb pack so we would have enough gear for our night stay. We left around 3200 ft elevation and climbed to 5400 ft. We never take the easy trail, in fact we had to get over one rock face and my husband thought he found us a way through a chute on the rock. About 20 feet into it, we hit nothing but pure viney maples, so we claw and climb our way through them. We get up about 100 yards and he realizes we are boxed in and that wasn't a good route. Back down we go and had to go down in elevation to make it around the big rock and then back up to get on the ridge he wanted to hike. I am happy to say, I made the complete 2 day hike with a pack on and never complained once! I am in such great shape, now he is wishing he was in good shape too. :IBCOOL: I didn't measure myself before I started all this, but if you measure my belt from the previous hole I used to wear it on to what I use today, there is a 4" difference. I encourage all of you, if you haven't stuck with it, give it another try. The feeling of health is worth it.
-
I am not competing...but....had been having a continued weight gain and stomach problems.....took bread out of my diet......and feel better and lost 8-10 lbs :dunno: so now I cannot eat any dairy, no chocolate, no soy, avoid legumes, and no bread.... :dunno: when I stick to basically meat, veggies, and potatoes I don't feel like crap...and that is a good thing :) I walk a mile or 2 each day and do yoga 2 days a week for almost 2 hrs, trying to get in the habit of doing it daily for at least 1/2 hr again but just not successful... I am so impressed with all those who lose lots of weight, I have never weighed so much before I have topped my pregnancy weight by almost double what I gained back then....I knew not smoking would have an effect just had no idea how much it messed my body up...
-
So now that the unpacking is winding down. I got my treadmill and bowflex setup. Jumped on the scale and 278 down 56lbs.
-
234 yesterday. feel better, can do more fun stuff, sleep better, -16 is doing good but I still got a long ways to go before I look or feel like the hotshot I was
-
276 This morning down 58 so far. How is everyone doing. Getting pretty close to the end of this.
-
Great job Russ. I am down -11 lbs to 261. Lowest I have been since my final football season in 2008! I still have a lot to go before my Elk hunt in October!
-
I told my wife the other day that I am at the same weight I was when I met her 17 years ago. Here is a good picture of me last summer on Samammish and then me Happy,Happy,Happy about a month ago.
-
252 Only a month to go. Had a bad June and July, basically maintained.
-
Back off vacation :chuckle: Here you all go - updated as of today!

248.6 today, finally broke through that 250 barrier :IBCOOL:
-
I see that I forgot to post my starting weight. :bash:
This probably won't count now for the contest, but I think I was 265 at the first of the year, I got up to 270 in early July and decided I better drop some pounds fast. I'm at 248 now, feel better and hoping to get down to 240 by hunting season, might even make 230's by hunting season. I'm eating twice a day 3 or 4 ounces of meat, one fruit, one vege, per meal. One of my favorites is to put 6 or 7 strawberries and a handful of spinach in the blender and eat a small serving of meat, tastes great. Losing weight sitting at the computer on this diet. If I do something physical outside I have to eat a little more or I get light headed. But the pounds and inches are coming off. Just had to get my head set with determination to do it.
-
Well slow going lately. 275 down another 1lb to a total of 59. Want to get to the 60 mark before the first a good round number to end with . A little over 2 weeks left.
-
Went to the doc yesterday. Cut my blood pressure med in half and down to every other day. Almost off these things. :IBCOOL:
-
Well done Russ.......you are adding years to your life with only a few months work.
-
274down another lb. After the party this last weekend and all the good food and beer back to the grind. Officially 60 lbs lost. Good luck to everyone. Only a little over a week left I know most of us are gearing up for season to start on the 3rd but still hope everyone is on track.
-
maybe not on the track I hoped to be on but still going around the track, down to 230 today. down 20 from the start & down33 from my heaviest ever
-
Can we weigh in Sunday the 1st? That is the day I'll be getting back from a camping trip.
-
Can we weigh in Sunday the 1st? That is the day I'll be getting back from a camping trip.
I don't have any obections, can you post it as early as possible on the 1st? If anyone else objects please let me know.
-
Remember everyone lets get those weights in, in red to help out the misses.
-
I got anemia and stopped my original journey and sadly re-gained it all months ago.
I refused to give up though restarted July 8th, with a new healthier and funner approach. I want to do my final weigh-in on September 1st like everyone else (although I'm sure I won't be winning, I still think it's fun).
My last week's weigh-in was 213. :) makes me happy because I only got to 214 last time before I stopped and started gaining weight again. Now I beat that and am still losing.
-
I am fine with the 1st. I will do my finally weigh in on Friday. Will be in a blind on the 1st. to everyone and watching everyone and listening to what they're doing really helped me this year. I hoping to be at the 270 mark by Friday. Here is to hoping though :chuckle:
-
Thanks guys, and if anyone is not ok with it, just post something and I will get it before I leave.
-
143 Can't seem to get past this plateau, but I'm happy with my weight loss and being able to do the things I love. My horse and I just competed this past weekend and actually won a saddle. We took 1st in 4 out of the 5 events we ran in and 2nd in the 5th out of 125 riders. I'd say that is quite an accomplishment.
-
-
Here is my last weigh in for the contest. 272 down 2 more lbs for a total of 62 lbs lost since March. Good luck everyone.
-
Heading out to Whidbey Island for a girl's weekend, last weigh in this morning: 209.
Down 22 lbs since July 8th for this contest. This was fun motivation :) people should post up some before and after pics! Russ I've seen the ones of you and your wife, awesome job!
-
I am not in the contest however I have now lost 23lbs in the last 2 months.
-
227 Congrats to you guys that got where you wanted.
-
Final weigh in for this contest, Ill be out hunting grouse the next two days,
250.4
puts me at 28 pounds down since i started this. even though this "contest" is over i fully plan to keep dropping weight.
congrats to everyone that saw improvement and good luck to everyone in your continued efforts
-
246# last time weighing in for the contest. still working to get to 200.
-
222 Seeing where I started at in 5/2012 I feel I have accomplished something amazing.
-
Not sure if it too late but yesterday morning I was 247 not quite to my goal, but I will continue until Christmas. By then with my progress this far I may be below my goal by the first of the year!!!! I stopped exercising in March after our new one was born, and continued to slowly drop weight with diet alone, I can not wait to get back to the gym this fall and see what I can accomplish now that I am #30 lighter. I am sure my diet will allow me to maintain what ever weight I end up at, and hunting season is going to be awesome this fall!

Great job everyone!!! Please double check my wife's math and if there are any problems or alibis please let us know as soon as possible.
-
WOW, congrats to everyone. There should be a bunch of doctors who are happy to see the loss of weight.
I did want to provide an update as to my wife's weight loss. Some my recall Sheryl had gastric bypass last year 14 October. She spent 4 days in the hospital due to complications of lacerations to her liver that have since healed. The biggest loser winner to me is my wife, going from 299 lbs to now 125 lbs
If not for her having the procedure, she may have not been here this year due to her failing health. Since that time her doctors have taken her off of 18 of her 21 different medications she was on. She now has a whole new outlook on life, meeting new people and making new friends. I'm so happy to have her in my life, our kids and grand babies lives.
I wish everyone good health as you continue your battle as I am.
Kenneth

before picture taken last fall when my girlfriend got her buck during the late season, I was gutting it for her and she snapped this pic
[smg id=12115]
After picture taken 20 minutes ago by 1 of my employees while I was finishing up my daily workout. even though only down 20 pounds I can really tell the difference in my stamina, drive and feel good meter. I plan on keeping at it as time allows and be down even more weekly, except for maybe my week-long hunting trip where I always eat crappier than other times simply because it's easier. biggest difference for me is MY gut is gone :chuckle: I used to hit my gut with my thighs when on the arc trainer set on level 10 but no longer, keep at it folks and good luck in your outdoor adventures this fall!

Awesome!
Anyone know elkrunner? I sent him a PM but he hasn't been on....probably out chasing elk. :)
-
So I finally got an after picture today. I wanted one in the same setting as my before picture. So here is my before picture July 2012 hiking and scouting. And here is my updated picture 20lbs down and getting ready to pack out my husbands bear for him, so he could stay and elk hunt. I'm pleased with the results. In the after picture, I couldn't even fit into these pants last year, today they wouldn't stay up without my belt tightened all the way. I can pull them down without even unbuttoning them. :IBCOOL:
And a really cool picture of me and my horse in one of our barrel runs, that we won a saddle for.

Thanks for doing the challenge and thank you for being a donor. it kinda hit home last DEC when I found out I had a form of it and am now taking meds I refuse to do the chemo. Figure at 65 the majority of my life is behind me and I'm NOT gonna go through all the crap that goes with Chemo so just gonna do what I can as long as I can.

Great Photos, my wife spends her whole summer going to rodeos and watching the horse groups practice, she doesn't ride, just enjoys watching others.
I had forgotten to properly register, but I am pleased, since Aug 3rd I have lost 33 pounds and feeling like I have a ton more energy.

Machias- First off I want to thank you for running an awesome thread and to the sponsors for contributing prizes. When this first started I was all in working out 2 times a day and eating better, but that trailed off when summer and work kicked into high gear for me, so the workouts stopped and the normal routine kicked in. I had forgotten all about this until you messaged me. I don't feel comfortable taking a prize that someone worked all the way to Aug 31st for. I gained weight back before the end of the contest, so I couldn't consciously take a prize away from someone else. Next year I am all in through the end of the contest if you happen to do it again!! Thank you again, and congrats to everyone that took part in this contest  Move on to the next person!!
-
 Sounds good!
Sorry everyone for the slow response, I've been out rafting the past three days and just got back home.

Congrats to all you losers! I didn't qualify for any of the prizes, since I keep porking out. But this contest did raise my awarenes & I'm doing better than I was last year, for sure. It was pretty inspiring to see so many getting back on the track to health & happiness. Way to go!
Sending a nice elk tine broom to LUVTOHNT today. Congratulations. Smokepole
