Title: late season turkey

Finaly got bird down up near NorthPort. That extra full choke sure throws a tight pattern. One day left to try and get a late archery deer.

Just at the right place at the right time ..... :lol4: ... had 5 nice toms fly down with all at 10 to 20 yards at leagl shoot ... waited in hopes they would go about 20 yds to my left with my buddy there about 40 yds away ... but they started single file to the right and left me no choice but drop the front 2 at about 20 to 25 yards while hoping the other 3 would retreat right past him ... they did not cooperate with that part of my plan.  Go figure ...
 :bash:
We were able to get him a nice tom 2 days later and almost his 2nd on 4 other occassions ... they didn't cooperate with that part of the plan either.
  :dunno:

Love that area and the people too ... ... plan on being back this spring if possible.

Again congrats !

Not a gobbler ..... but the late Fall Season tradition continues with a hen harvested on the last day!  Tracking in the snow was a kick.
Missed first opportunity with a misfire on a hevi-shot blend load.  The primer was dented but the shell did not fire.    :bash:

Nice pic PG and congrats.            Didn't get out for either early or late fall this year myself due to work hours.    :bash:

:dunno:   Don't know JB ... I always figure that I might not have another chance at birds that close.  Actually , my buddy thought that the birds had landed on my boots again.

However I do want to try out my Killer B "full strut deke" (with a real fan) this year to see how that works.
But I may need to take hen "squealing" lessons from Yelp and "whit-whit & do-whit" lessons from you if all else fails.

TD - Great looking fan on your gobbler decoy.  Should really pull in a boss tom (or two) from across one of your mountain meadow hotspots!!   :IBCOOL:

thanks guys ...

Been working 12 hr/day x 7 day/wk since Nov 13 with only 4 days off (Turkey day, day before & X-Mas day, & New Years day) ... unfortunately this will continue until end of March ... I tell the wife if there truly is no rest for the wicked, then I must have been a really bad boy!     :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I can't wait to go kill something, so the toms better look out ...  :hunter:
