I almost didn't go out Saturday evening because I only had 45 minutes to hunt but it was worth it. I had one foot on the treestand when I saw him movin through the brush. I finnished getting in the tree and then had the Awsome feeling of being in a treestand with a buck at 30 yards and my bow on the ground tied to a string. Well, amazingly I pulled the bow all the way up with him only looking at the bow spinning on the string a couple times. When he stomped the ground I was sure he caught my wind. With the wind swirling he was on high alert so I nocked up and drew back. At 20 yards and head on with a slight angle I put the arrow between his neck bone and shoulderblade. He took off and I went home. Next morning I came back with my 16 month old, brother and dad. We found the buck 50 yards away, my 85# bowtech took out 1 lung, the diaphram and threw some gut and came out the other side.

Great buck! Congrats man.
-
How come he has three antlers in the last picture?
-
The third antler is a shed I found from him last year. His back tine gets narrow then rounds to a point, the exact same from the year before.

Awesome!! When it's meant to be it is!!!! Well deserved!

Nice Blacktail  Cool picture of where he piled up!

Cool story and pic. How was the meat leaving him overnight? Anything sour? Just curious.

Sweet Buck!!! WTG! :tup:Love the pics... and nice shed! Had you found the shed prior?
-
Great decision to get out there, that's a dandy blacktail for sure.

Thanks, and the meat was good, I had some butterfly backstrap steaks the next day and getting the rest in pepperoni and breakfast sausage. Tastes better than plastic paper tag. I found the shed prior to shooting him and since I knew the buck, I brought the shed with me the next day.
