Hey just moved to Spokane to attend college at Gonzaga and was wondering if there are any elk around the area? Have heard a lot of people say there are not many elk around but figured I would ask the experts.

There is a decent little herd of elk in the Orchard Bluff/green bluff/peone prairie area. It's almost all
private land, so you'll need to do some asking around. Bring a pair of work gloves and some fencing
pliers and you may get permisson.
good luck

my uncle has been seeing quite a few over the years around deer lake. mainly private property but he has seen them on the public land aswell around his area but not as much as on the private land...of course thats how it always is.

Lots of animals but all worth walking to....most the animals if you are willing to walk in on are probably going to be 20 plus mile a day hikes in order to find animals......specially elk.
I guided opening week and called in 6 bulls......and several small groups of cows....
heres one i called in opening day.....
