They are limiting them to 3 per person to keep from one person buy them out and not giving anyone else a chance at them.
Fortunately for me I got the last three but unfortunately for everyone else, they along with the AR's are gone in less then 4 hours :bash: :bash:

You see this problem in lots of cases where demand outstrips supply. Hurricanes, natural disaster.... ALL THINGS ARE CHEAPER when you shop around and buy BEFORE you need them. :twocents:

I was at Rainier Arms in Auburn Saturday, they had I believe three ARs left on the wll, they had "Not For Sale" signs on them, LOL

There are some mighty big talkers on here but lets wait and see when a real disaster happens and they need something. A $40 PMag that should cost $12 is no different than a $12 sheet of plywood selling for $40 2 days before a hurricane hits! That being said I back ordered 6 Pmag's from midway (only 2 per style per person) 2 weeks ago for $12.30 they came in yesterday and shipped today.

Reapeat customers. Thats why. Mag prices will come down. When they do those customers will go back to SW as opposed to the business who was selling them for inflated prices in turn making more money in the long run. There are still some places selling mags at reasonable prices.

Here is why most mags are "expensive". Places like Midway buy direct and sell they will likely take a back order and you take your chances. MAYBEE you need them NOW! your going on a Prairy dog hunt, or just want to "make sure" you have a couple more... There are middle men, wholesale distributors, who buy and sell to make sure that production gaps are filled. THEY HAVE TO MAKE $$$ so they mark up a little extra because they invested in inventory. The shops they sell too know the prices are high, but they want to at least make them available, so they mark the up the same amount and sell them. So who is gouging who? Manufacture? nope they are charging nearly the same and working 24/7 to make as many as they can. Middle men? They invested $$$ in all kinds of inventory too help keep product on the shelves, and distribute to smaller shops. Are they Gouging because They can get more now? Sounds like a good investment to me... Retailer.. Is trying to maye sure you have the OPTION to buy it even if the price is high. There is likely more freight and more effort finding lining up product for their customers. Are they entitled to a little more $ for going the extra mile?

I don't see it as price gouging. An assault rifle, or whatever you wish to call it, is not a necessity. It's not something that you have to buy just to survive, like food and gasoline. I don't own an AR-15 and I haven't had the urge to suddenly go out and buy one. The people who are buying them now, are buying them because they want them, not because they need them.agreed they think they need them because they have been lead to believe they wont be able to buy them and they FEAR they might not have one.....and the Jonses will ;)
price gouging happens its part of marketing and part of the market, if you are offended by the terminology I say thats a personal problem, no reason to be offended by the term....
I think it will be cute when prices come down just like the housing market and all kinds of people are holding objects worth less than they paid.....just a smaller mortgage/housing market scenario....
How many here bothered to realize the housing market was also artificially inflated and didn't play :dunno: :dunno:

If someone is willing to pay $600 for a stripped lower... Go for it. Obviously that person thought it was worth it or they wouldn't have bought it. If the ban goes through they could very well be worth that...unlikely, but its possible.
The housing market analogy is a good one I think, but again, I wouldn't blame the neighbors for asking 100k more than they bought the house for. The market will determine whether it is a fair price or not.

Your going to be waiting awhile or paying much more when that "Executive Order" gets stuffed in your face. Count your change and buy now. People paying these prices now are just being penalized for what they should have already had. Sort of like minimum wage, it's just a penalty for lack of a trade, education or self motivation. :tup:
My suggestion other than buying, is to get what you have under a trust. If you read between the lines, it will save your Azz firearms wise if this wreck becomes a reality.

I am predicting that two possible executives orders will be
1. Heavy restrictions on online ammo sales ( via postal regulations )
2. Banning imports of foreign ammo. Don't be myopic: even if you don't buy foreign ammo, if Jim over there looses his source of ammo, there will be more demand for the domestic stuff.
Prices will increase.

I suspect if someone were to dig deep enough, they'd find several (mostly Democratic) politicians that own stock in firearms and ammunition companies...
But Remington or Winchester aren't firearms rel....oh haha...You are so true! I bet some of there is a lot of "liberal" politicians with stock in a company or two and even something like ATK.
