Do many people use snares to catch wolves?
-
wouldn't that be illegal
-
Certainly illegal in Washington.
-
I think I heard that a Spokane Indian just did so recently. But yeah, for us normal folks it would be illegal. In this state anyway, I don't know about other states.
-
In Washington if you give a wolf a mean look you're walking a fine line. ;)

How 'bout firing a 30/06 round inches over its head? (Just to scare it off)
-
If I remember right that first wolf killed on the rez was caught in a snare. I know they do catch them where legal in snares. Like said not here in WA unless it's a rez kill.

& i think fireing an 06 over ones head could be harrasment of wildlife in this state if not "attempted poaching" as who's to say you were trying to just scare it & didnt actually miss :chuckle:

I have tons of snares and drags for them but it will get you in big trouble to use them in this state.
A snare is a awesome tool for the trap line. I have taking a ton of fur using them in the past. Still have a ton of them.

Natives can use them but the rest of us can't. I have a whole supply when the world coems to an "end" and I need to feed and clothe my family, or the rules get changed....thinking the world will end before the latter
