Am looking to get a. New bow what should I get was looking ag the pse wave and what ans fish hawk. Anyone use one of them?
-
You might also check out the alpine mako. I run 4 of them on my guide boat. Really a nice bowfishing bow.

What type of reel do you use
-
If your just starting out you can be very successful with a simple PSE Kingfisher for around $150. It comes with an open reel that you have to physically wrap after ever shot. It gets old quick! I used a Kingfisher for several years until I got into competitions. I now shoot the Alpine Mako and love it. I equipped it with a barrel reel, at first. The AMS barrel reels are great but again as you progress in the sport, especially if you want to compete in tournaments, go with the closed face reels. Shakespear makes a good and its the one I use. Muzzy has a good one to but the pin seems to break to to often for me.

i have a kingfisher already just want to up grade to a better bow who sells the apline in the tri cities ?
-
Ranch and Home is your best bet for a decent supply of bowfishing stuff!

I'd steer away from the wave for a couple reasons. Finger pinch is an issue if you draw over 28" and 40 lb. will leave you wishing you had more power. You can put one of those in your hands at Ranch and Home, the have the wave in stock. The Fishhawk is longer axle-to-axle but still has only a 40 lb rating. Makos are good but can be a little finicky. I'd take a look at the AMS Fireeagle. SS hardware and 40-50 lbs pull. I've had a ton of guys shoot my Fireeagle and all of them love it.

who in town sell the fire eagle or the apline ill like to get the alpine or the fire eagke befor i order one i would like to check one out
-
Ranch and Home has the FireEagle. John in the archery department has one he was shooting last year, behind the desk. As far as the MaKO. Not sure. CarpCommander has one, he's in the Tri-Cities. He might let you check it out. He's a great guy and willing to help most anyone out.

What type of reel do you use
I run AMS reels on all the bows. Think I have 9 of them right now. They are the safest best reel on the market hands down.
If you ever get down to goldendale I have 4 sitting out in the shop you are welcome to play with.

Carpsniper I never go down there but thinks hey are you comeing this weekend for the coyote contest and would the alpine set up run ?
-
Yeah I am headed up there this friday and sunday for that contest. Are you going to be there as well?
The mako's priced right at around 300.00. The basic ams will run you about 80.00 and then throw a rest on 30.00 so you are looking just around 400.00. I am guessing you already have arrows and might already have a rest as well.
-
Yeah I will b there. Thank for the info
-
If I remember and get back around the house on sunday before heading back over I can throw one in. I will try to remember no promises :chuckle: My brain is burned this time of year.
