My buddy who lives there has pulled an Elk out of the unit opening day the last three years. I have just bought the leftover cow tags the last three years and have tagged out each year.
I think my chances are very good that I will be drawn...at least I hope so. If not it is leftover cow tag again which is great as well.

I did the same thing as you. Me and three friends bought left over WY cow tags. We kill two of them but my other friends were not in great shape so they had a hard time climbing those 10,000ft hills
I have one deer point for WY and burnt my antelope points in 2011. I will probably not draw a tag this year there. I will miss hunting there if I don't draw this year.

Post by: Labs07 on January 10, 2013, 07:42:39 AM: For the last three years I hunted units 104 or 103 and have killed a cow all three years. There are some very nice bulls in those units! My friends son killed a 300 class bull two years ago and a 320 class bull last year....lucky kid!

I've been applying for a Unit 30 bull tag and still have maximum points...what was your experience there?? PM me if you want.

Post by: Halo on January 10, 2013, 11:10:12 PM: Area 30 is a fun hunt but it is not what it used to be, 5 years ago you could pass up 6X6 bulls every day, now you better think twice when you pass those. If my 3 points would get me that tag again I would be there in a heartbeat though. Anybody used to Washington hunting will still love it, just dont expect anything beyond about 320 tops. When I was there it was the first year it had really gone down hill and I thought it was awesome but the locals were complaining how bad it was.

In 2012 it was Feb 29th. Not gonna be the 29th this year tho :chuckle: 28th I'd guess.

Best of luck with 62. Used to be great, but wolves and grizz really took there toll. Off to new areas for me. :)

It will be here before we know it!!! Thanks. MtnMuley, how many times did you draw it?? How long has it been since you've been there? I have never set foot in the unit myself, I'm depending on some local guys to help.

It will be here before we know it!!! Thanks. MtnMuley, how many times did you draw it?? How long has it been since you've been there? I have never set foot in the unit myself, I'm depending on some local guys to help.

I've personally never drawn it, but have spent time in the unit hunting. Deer hunted the area before as well.
