And, would you buy it again or a different scope?
I'm hoping to have a 10/22 in the next couple of weeks and I'm looking for scope suggestions. I want to keep it under $100 if possible.
Purpose - plinking, ground squires, small game.
Thanks for the ideas,

Mine came with a Redfield fixed 4 power. It was very accurate out to 100 yards. However, My 15 year old son was getting to cocky thinking and stating how good of a shot he was. So the scope came off. It is amazing how iron sights can humble a young lad.. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I have a cheap Simmons 4x on mine. Like you I didn't see breaking the bank on something I just plink with.
-
Bushnell 3-9x32mm rimfire scope.. I think theyre discontinued, but it was like $50 and its a great rimfire scope. Im thinking about moving it from my 10/22 to my Marlin 981T which has only iron sights right now.

BSA Sweet 22.
It's awesome.
It has built in balistic reticles for 3 different bullet wieghts.
I have mine dialed in to shoot the head off a grouse from any yardage out to 100 yards.
and it was less than $100.

I have a Simmons 3-9x40. I paid $80. I wanted a Nikon Prostaff but didn't want to wait for the backorder.
-
Leupold straight 4x. Shoots like a dream.
-
An older Bushnell 3-9x40

That actually looks pretty ideal for a 10-22. Hmmmmm........

I have a heavily-modded 10/22 and a Swift Premier 6-18.
Excellent scope.
I just bought my son a Nikon Prostaff 4X and it is outstanding.

Thanks for the ideas, gentlemen. I'll go look at some and choose. I think they're all good choices.
Thanks again,

Tasco 3x9 x50
-
we put a cheapie 3*9 Simmons on ours. It's clear as a bell. Good enough for what we need it for.
-
nikon monarch 4-16. I tried it on my hunting rifle but the third time it broke inside and had to be sent back it got demoted to the 22 and i went back to a leupold,
-
ive got a cheap simmons .22 mag on mine.sub inch groups as 50 yards when zero. i havent had an opportunity to get a shot off in the field yet with it though. i think i paid 50 bucks or so
-
Red dot. They are so much fun.
-
I had a Simmons on mine it worked :chuckle:. After the rebuild I put on a Cabelas model 3x9x40 on it. Way better than the Simmons.
-
I saw the Nikon 22 3-9x40 BDC scope on sale at Cabelas tonight for $119.

I'm running irons...........just like the day she was born!

I have a Leupold 3x9 on one and Tasco & Bushnell on my other ones.
-
Simmons 3x9x40 on my break down and a Bushnell 2x7x32 on my other one. Both work good but I like the larger reticle on the Simmons.
-
Tasco World Class 20x Dot. :chuckle:

Got four 10/22's. One has an old Leupold 3-9, one has a Nikko Sterling 3.5-10, one Nikko Sterling 3-9, (both NS's are POS by the way).
Going to put GOOD glass on both as soon as I can collect enough cans from the side of the road.

Exactly the same here. Has held zero and continues to for over 15 years now.

I have the same. For the money you can't beat it. Plus, you won't cry if you happen to bounce it off the ground.

I like to use the scopes that come on package rifles. I had a drawer full of Simmons and Bushnells that worked great on 22s. They all work well enough to hit rabbits at any reasonable 22 range.

Nikon Prostaff Target EFR 3-9x40 AO Matte Precision Reticle, Black

Got this on my 10/22. Great scope. Set it and Forget it!
-
I saw the Nikon 22 3-9x40 BDC scope on sale at Cabelas tonight for $119.
if you get the BDC look at the reticle, I didn't like mine at all and eventually sold it. Nikon does have rebates at times on their scopes. I got $50 off mine.

Bushnell ScopeChief-IV 3-9mm with the command post. Addicted bought it in Germany for like $50.00, I see them on ebay for $179.00.
-
built one for the wife, started out as a hot pink rifle, then she told me she didn't want a pink gun, love that women :chuckle: so I sanded and fitted the stock to her and then put a pentax 4-12 with the ballistic reticule cause I had it and she likes the 4-16 mil dots on mine. pretty happy with how it turned out and very accurate. I have another one to build for myself, got a 4-16 centerpoint scope from wal-mart. had good luck with these for 22's and sage rats. Buddy uses a tasco on his 6-18 mil dot I think. fun guns, can't wait to get mine rolling for rats next year.
