Title: Meetings scheduled to discuss WA gray wolf recovery, management
Post by: UrbanTrapper on January 09, 2013, 01:54:19 PM
http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/jan0713a/ (http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/jan0713a/)Trappers need to attend one of these meetings and speak out.  If we don't the under-employed, pro-wolf crowd will get bused in, dominate the meetings and continue to have their way with the Game Commission.  I think the coming need to control wolves could get us our foothold traps back if we play our cards right.  I have testified twice at the 'Wolf Plan' meetings and the hunters were under-represented.  One of the keynote speakers, Carter Niemeyer, is a highly controversial figure in Idaho.  I know people there who feel he betrayed them.  I will get more information on him but we need to be there to represent REAL hunters and trappers.

I love how 2 of the meetings are scheduled on the West side that doesn't have wolves and only one meeting on the eastside near the wolves. And lets remember that the state has already taken out one wolf pack and the Colville Confederated tribes are lowering the number of wolves on the reservation to protect the deer herd,

At least 3 of the 4 mentioned speakers are wolf advocates. This should be illegal for them to represent the WDFW. :twocents:

all the more reason we need to go to these meetings, any of us who can.  especially the ones in seattle and olympia where the crowd will be even more lopsided than the crowd in spokane.

You will be able to submit questions? What would be some questions to submit? It looks like the panel is going to be a pack of Wolves in Sheep's clothing.

?1. Do you have a biased opinion one way or the other? If so what are you doing on the panel?
?2. Do Wolves pack together and hunt for sport regardless of target? (If it's alive it dies)
?3. Are the people of Washington State comfortable knowing that at some point Wolves will track down a human being and tear it apart with their                       teeth?
?4. We the people of Washington State work hard to control various infestations of many kinds. Why would we want manifest our own predator? This in it's self is an act of terrorism that in time will scare people and keep people from playing outside.

just killing time

I am almost of the opinion that anyone opposing wolves should send a letter boycotting this meeting since the panel is stacked with wolf advocates.

Let them have their meeting of fell good wolf lovers, but send letters saying due to the obvious bias of the WDFW I am boycotting the meeting.
