Im new to archery and was wondering what the point of waxing your bow strings is? Nobody i have asked has been able to tell me.

Shoot it a bunch over the next few months without waxing it and then you'll know what the point is. :chuckle:
I'm sure someone on here will be able to give you the technical answer.
-
So basically it gives you longer life out of your strings?
-
Not sure if this real technical or not but, a string is made up of strands and the strands are made up of a bunch of smaller strings. Waxing helps keep these altogether. Each time you shoot those stings and strands rub together. Causing friction that can wear out your string faster. The wax acts as a lubricant and also help repel water. That is my :twocents:
