I hope ALL of you have written your email/letters to ALL of your State representatives to give your support for the action taken by the WDFW to eliminate the problematic Wedge Pack. If you agree with the WDFW actions, please tell your State representatives that you fully support the actions of the WDFW regarding the eradication of the Wedge wolf pack and expect the WDFW to continue to manage our wildlife based on sound and unbiased science, not on emotionally based public opinion fueled by anti-hunting and animal rights propaganda.

This really needs a Modicon of someone eating popcorn and just watching!! that's the one I want to see!!
They didn't eradicate the Wedge pack they just set it back 2 years!! All they did was postpone it in hope of the wolf management plan got set in place!
I will say I can find Fresh wolf sign this weekend in unit 105 less than a mile from the Diamond M ranch!

I just have to think that it won't be long before the wolves are right back in the same area, killing the same rancher's cattle. What's the WDFW going to next time?

It is emotion driven now! When the wedge pack topic came into light most of this forum had no interest in it!! But when the possibility of them showing up in the teanaway that became a topic that needed to be addressed right now!!

Congratulations on finally winning your tough race here in Vancouver.
I want to voice my utmost support for the WDFW in moving to eliminate the Wedge wolf pack, which was killing livestock and if it had been unchecked, would possibly have done more damage and attacked other easy prey, like pets and possibly even children. Although I feel that the original wolf plan is too aggressive and we're going to have too many wolves in this state very quickly, I also believe that the WDFW took the needed steps in the NE corner of our state to control this pack which had become accustomed to living off easy prey.
We can't have a successful game management program in this state without managing all species. The recent "comeback" of the gray wolf will have long-lasting effects on our other wildlife, commercial livestock businesses, and indeed, on our private citizenry. It is therefor imperative that the WDFW remain unencumbered by interference from our legislature when it makes management decisions based on science and conservation goals. Please join me in supporting them in their efforts to keep the wolves in check.
Thank you for your consideration of my views. I look forward to working with you on this and other conservation, 2nd Amendment, and hunting-related issues.

At the time of the writing of the article Ranker was the chairman of the senate committee that oversees the WDFW. There has been a big brawl in the Senate now in which the Republican party is now in the majority since two Dems went to the R side. So it is up in the air if Ranker has now lost his chairman's seat.

Ranker is not anti-WDFW. In fact he was one of 8 Senators that got the fish and wildlife enforcement bill passed last year. This is the same bill that created the new law of hunting while trespassing. The bill as a whole was the biggest fish and wildlife enforcement bill in state history.

I just watched the movie "Lincoln", and I wish our politicians at the state and federal level still had that kind of intensity. I would take that in a hearbeat; even with the nastiness.

Thank you for your email regarding the Wolf Management Act in Washington State. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me on the matter.
As you may know, during the previous biennium, the Wolf Management Act was not voted out of committee in the House. Therefore, I did not have the chance to give my due diligence to the bill. So far during the current session, the bill has not been reintroduced. Should this bill come before one of my committees or on the Senate floor, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.
