I just can't stand dealing with it when I'm setting up on a bird and it nearly busted my last hunt (I was unscrewing the sling when he popped over the ridge). Was able to wait the bird out and take him but I want to fix this before spring. After my shot I took off after a second Tom that had been with mine and ended up with sling trailing from the back of my stock dragging on the ground. Silly.
I've been looking at the single point slings that can be quick detatched by Blackhawk and some adapters you can use to make it fit any gun. I was curious if anyone here used them and what the results were.
I really like my sling for carrying, but I want a smoother way to detach the sling when I'm set up. Any advice?

I lost a bird two years ago because he came up to my left and I tried to swing on him and the sling just adds a ton of motion to what is already a tough chore (adjusting position with a bird barrelling down on you).

Nothing seemed to work. Just couldn't find any set up that was comfortable, especially not for humping around in the woods for any period of time.
Oh well, I'll just stuck with the good old fashioned standard sling for now.

Seems to work for me. But then I'm just learning myself.
