Just returned from Pullman Walmart and was told by 2 people in sporting goods, one was a manager, that when the scant amount of ammo they have now is gone they have been instructed to not order more. The clerk said to not expect ammo anytime soon. It'll save me a 90 mile round trip not going there for ammo.
-
Yep. Happening at all Wal Marts across the nation.
-
I talked to my Walmart this morning. He was stocking cases of ammo. He said they had ammo and guns on order and would continue to do so.
-
There's a Walmart in Pullman? WTF? When did that happen? I must be getting old.

Exactly what I was thinking. Is "Rico's" still there" The "down under"? "Pelican Pete's?"
Anyone remember "Wheel Night" at Pelican Pete's...or "dimers" at the Down Under? :brew: :boxin: :brew:
Man, I am really dating myself...

Rico's, yes. I think they called it Rico's smokehouse, where you could drink with your professors. Those other two were before my time, or after maybe.
I wonder if the bar at Adams mall with the girls dancing in cages is still around? That one opened a few years after I left.

The Wal Mart in Mount Vernon was instructed the same last week. They can no longer order any guns or ammo. That would be a big hit to the gun industry if all Wal Marts stop selling ammo and guns.
If you can't stop them from making stuff, cut off all the channels to getting out to the public.

It was shakers when I was there, just without the cages. Way cooler with the cages. And it seemed like the girls wore less clothing than I remember.

Women in cages? Wow times have changed. We had problems getting them into our dorm rooms. A cage would be way more difficult.

sounds like you all had fun while here :brew:

I wonder what the hell sort of deal Obama made with Walmart to make that happen? Last time I was there the guy at the counter was trying to sell me a whole case of 9mm. That was after sandy hook but before Christmas. They also had huge sales selling guns and gun accessories $0.01 above cost.

I thought it was out of control when I was there, but in the early 2000s when I went back for a few games, I was shocked at how wild it was. Who knows, maybe I was just getting older.

Late 2010/early 2011.
Because the 8 mile drive to the Moscow Walmart is just too far :chuckle:

There is a Wallmart in Moscow? What is the world coming too?

maybe wallmart has some relatively smart folks that like didnt wana loose money in orders they could not sell ??? maybe when/if this blows over theyl get back into it again...
but even if they don't, demand will pick up in other retail stores so i wouldn't think it would hurt the industry all that much as a whole..and it would increase small bus traffic

Yeah that makes sense. Kinda how they sell out of all their holiday stuff a whole week before the holiday.

I tried to buy .22 ammo today and the Walmart guy I talked to said they were told not to order any ammo. When it came in, it would just be distributed to all Walwarts equally.

which still wont be hardly anything due to wallmart keeping such small inventory

If any of you have been to an Alaskan Walmart then you know. The irony of all of this. You could walk in and buy the nastiest handguns made at the anchorage Walmart last time I was there.
-
That one opened in 1992 I believe.

Petes close at the end of 2008. Its now birch bay or something like that. It just opened in the last year or so. The bar in Adams Mall with the girls dancing in cages is Stubblefields, but the majority of people call it Mikes. From what ive heard thats what it was previously called.
Didnt the walmart in moscow close when the pullman one opened or was that just for a remodel? That was about the time i graduated so i havent paid much attention in my trips back. I do love that town though.

nev heard of birch bay except for a real estate office on blaine street below my house...mikes is a pretty fun place tho....
the wallmart in moscow is open as far as i know
-
It may not be called birch bay. Its on bishop across from Import Car Sercies. I know they closed the Moscow walmart right when pullman opened, but I think it was just for the remodel.

and yet snopes is debunking this as rumor. i think snopes isnt always right

Shakers is now Mikes and they still have cages. Petes is now Birch and Barley. Shermers is now a Thai restaurant and the bar side every calls the Tea Bag. They didn't want a Super Walmart in Moscow, so they built one in Pullman. After that Moscow wanted one so they renovated the old opne to make into a Super Walmart. Before that it was used as a warehouse for the one in Pullman.

I was at the Pullman Walmart last weekend. The were out of .223 ammo but seemed to have at least a box of something in other calibers. There were about 10 boxes of 22lr ammo still on the shelve (a little less after I was there :tung: ) I also couldn't find any #3 buckshot for my 20 gauge in Moscow/Pullman which I thought was weird.

Maybe it has something to do with this:
