Nice! Yep..you shouldn't have sold that one.
-
Just so people know , this was an orignal 1978 CrewCab 4x4 F250 Shortbed Highboy 460 v8 , when i had i was planning on doing a diesel Conversion Cummins swap. One day i will find another one ....
-
1974 Bronco and the 1974 CJ5. Both were great rigs. Traded each one for a chick magnet car '84 260Z and '78 Corvette. Didn't work! Chicks liked the cars, but couldn't get past the dweeb driving it I guess. Met my wife driving an '88 2X4 Ranger P/U. Good thing for me she must have had some real low standards back then :dunno:
-
My first 68 bronco
-
My 67 chevy burban 3 speed 4x4 could climb a tree with it .....the ex used it to commute and did not listen when I said whinding it up going 70 was gonna wreck the engine.....sure enough 4:30 am I get a call there is hole blown clean through the engine :bash: :bash: :'( actually kept it and hauled it to my next place we lived with promises it would get fixed......I think he left it in that yard ....thought he had it hauled by hulk haulers but I had already been moved to Idaho so never saw it leave..... :(
-
Had a 1970 International 3/4 ton 4x4. Ugly as sin but strong as hell. really had a lot of character and was fun until I filled it up...
-
My first 68 bronco
I had a 67 in high school. Wish I still had it.
-
'65 Ford with a 390. My wife misses that truck a lot.
-
There have been a few!
72 Chevy C-10 W/ sweet 350 that I built
74 Ford F-100 With 390 FE
84 Chevy crew cab W/ 454
85 F-150 4x4 302 4spd
There's lots of cars too, but you said trucks :chuckle:
-
05 Ram 3500, one of the last years before they put DPFs on them. Chipped. Torque monster. Would pull a 9000lb trailer over passes without kicking out of overdrive. Bought it used in 07, piled on the miles, barely took a hit when I sold it last year. Have a Tacoma now - just not the same.....
-
76 f-250 factory high-boy, with a stock 390, it was my dream truck, i got it while i was in the service "ARMY" 11-B (LIGHT), anyways had her for 12 years and then went and had kids, it wasnt a family rig and wasnt easy on the gas, so i sold her :'( :'( :'(, maybe after the kids graduate i will find another one
-
76 Jeep J-10 pickup, 401 C.I.D. loved that ol truck. 8 to 80, loaded or empty it got 8 m.pg. but of course that is when gas was $1.00 a gallon.
-
89' ranger, 8.8 posi, 6" lift, AOD tranny, FIJ 5.0l v-8...
-
Mine was a 1945 WILLYS MB3 JEEP. No frills, no heat/ no radio, no wipers. Stock seats, original engine, 6volts still had the brass nomenclature plate riveted to the dash. We didn't get anywhere in a hurry, but we got there. I' ve been kicking myself for the last 20 years.
-
1966 toyota landcruiser...
My dad gave me an option when I turned 16, he said he would rebuild the motor on the land cruiser for me or would loan me $3000 for a newer rig. Unfortunately I asked for a newer vehicle and a month later totalled it. He sold the landcruiser after I said I didn't want it... My uncle has it now and everytime I see him I ask if he's ready to sell it to me.
-
1969 Chevy Blazer 4x4. Maroon with black top and interior. Full removable top. Put a 400SB in it. That thing pulled tail way better than it pulled a trailer... blew the motor up in it being a dips&%t kid and sold it to a buddy for $1200.
Still have my my late Grandpa's 1964 Int'l Travelall, though.. 241 striaght 6, 4 speed, 4.10 gears. On the project list, someday.
-
'57 Chev p/u with a 235, 3 speed. Neat little truck but I sold it for $500 in '76 to save up $$ to buy my '76 F250 Highboy, 360 4 spd.. Bought it brand new the day it came off the truck for $7600.00. Still have the HB but it's been parked for a few years. Can't afford to fix it up. :bash:

Wish I never got rid of my 77 bronco. Traded it for a nice 72 f100 390 4 spd but not as cool as the bronco. It was the last year of the cool body style.
-
1977 CJ5 : 390 out of a 1970 AMX ( 340 hp stock ), bored 30 over, Sig Erson high Flow cam 500 lift/272 duration, running close to 400 hp, turbo 400 w/shift kit, headers, full cage, 1974 CJ5 rearend, Blazer front end cut down, 4.11 gears, trussed front and back, double shocked front end, 3 point racing harnesses and it was paid for. It was my daily driver too.
-

Had one of those the previous owner had put a 327 in. Was the scariest thing I've ever driven. Would brake all four loose shifting into 3rd when you weren't even trying. :yike: I traded it for the CJ5 and lost my fear of driving a Jeep ;)
-
96 F 250 best truck I ever had and I wish I had never sold it :bash:
-
79 chevy luv 4x4 4 speed. Little lift, roll bar, fuel cell. It would make its own trails mainly because i didn't care.
-
Still shopping for the best. I see that the highboy would be on my list. Beautiful truck.
but I wanted to tag along on this thread
-
67 bronco factory 1/2 cab. healthy 302, 3 on the tree & uncut.
-
78 GMC sierra grande 4x4, 350, low miles, 1 ton rear end, air bags, warn winch, 4" lift, dual tanks no frills but did go anywhere with no problem. did not have to worry about scratching her cause she didn't really care.
-
1965 ford f100 custom cab shortbed with the 390 2 wheel drive. Bought it in 1972 in excellent low mileage condition for i believe $700. It would go anywhere and pretty much did. Gave it to my lil bro the day i went in the navy. He loved it too.
-
69 Dodge Dart, 383 Tri-Power , 3.91 posi ..... oh you said truck :chuckle: 82 yota, I did a 350/th350 swap in , 35-15.50 swamper SX , 2 1/2 flowmaster exhaust. I guess by todays standard it would be old school compared to the rock crawlers , bobed beds, exo skeletons stc. I built it before todays fads :chuckle: I just liked the ruck, not perfect but it was mine.
-
Dude. A good friend of mine had a new 69 dart swinger with the 383. That car was sick! A 4 on the floor stock road ripper! Imstill keeping my eye out for one of those. Dark green w/hood scoops and the rear stripe!
-
'55 chevy Apache
64 F100 Stepside
60 f100 4x4
72 bronco w/ half cab
and the list goes on :chuckle:
-
my namesake Chev '72 4wd longbox. '95 350, 350/205, handbuilt quadrajet, headers, in dash tach... man, i had some GOOD times in that pickup! had it for 16 years, but it's hard to fit a family of four in a standard cab pickup!
-

Sometimes its good to mix up the topics , plus trucks and hunting i think go hand in hand ! thus the reason there is a rigs / trucks section on the board!!
-
96 F 250 best truck I ever had and I wish I had never sold it :bash:
I just recently Sold my 95 F350 CrewCab Dually 4x4 flatbed , soon as the new owner drove off with it i wanted it back i owned that truck for several years and put time and effort in it , it took me hunting and back for several years granted she has given me some headaches a couple times but has been a reliable truck.

Then stay out of the trucks section! :dunno:
I have gone downhill, still wish I had the last three:
82 CJ7 sold because I couldn't afford the maintenance while I was in college
99 F-350, 7.3L diesel, 6 speed manual, crew cab long box. I would kill to have that truck back
07 Dodge-last Dodge that had the 5.9L diesel, would have kept it but the kids outgrew the "Quad cab" and needed a true crew cab.
-
Love the 72 4wd. Drove one for a time. Saw one in Federal Way a couple years ago that I wanted to pick up, but just couldn't find the money.
-
my namesake Chev '72 4wd longbox. '95 350, 350/205, handbuilt quadrajet, headers, in dash tach... man, i had some GOOD times in that pickup! had it for 16 years, but it's hard to fit a family of four in a standard cab pickup!

-
My first car was an 84 Bronco. It was the best for getting dirty because of the rubber floor it had, you could spray it out no problem. Had plenty of space and was just fun to drive. Then it caught on fire :'(
-
78 chevy short box 4x4 with 3" lift and 35 mud terrains, that thing was indestructable except the rear diff kept chewing up gears
-
Ya, wow benbo, that truck looks awesome. Dude, what were you thinking!? :chuckle:
