Thought I would share. Some nice pretty country, a couple of great shots on some bears. I know I'm not the only one looking forward to spring.

I hope to get drawn this year.....hope to get my bear hunting book out by season too! Man, gotta love bear hunting.
-
I like the revolver shot. Nice and close is more fun to me, but the other video I like the country a lot. Very cool
-
:yeah: I too like the up close and personal shot. I hope one day i can take a bear with my bow, but until then i'll take the long shots...
-
I have no problem with taking longer shots if I'm comfortable in my affective range but the people that advertise making long shots and long shots only make me wonder something. And I know it can happen close up to but here is my question. How many shots do these hunters that take these kind of shots miss and wound these animals. It provides a much harder target to hit consistently and I think animals get wounded more often then they let be known. Don't get me wrong these were good shots and awesome footage and I don't just mean these people. I'm talking all long range shooters that make it a priority.
I love the video and best of the west videos I'm just saying hunters in general.
Me personally I like to be close but feel confident out to 400 if necessary and is not during a wind storm.
It just makes the hunt much more exciting.
Like my first bear was less than ten yards.
And during archery had a bear at 6 yards but did not take a shot because of the situation that occurred but was extremely exciting.
Shooters can take animals at all ranges
Hunters can get them close :twocents:
It does get me excited for bear season though.
Thanks for posting

That was preety good

I just want to tag along with someone like i did ladt year with stang and ripper.
-
D you are welcome to hunt with me anytime.
-
Wish we could have got you a bear last year ripper.
-
Ripper will whack one this year....i know it.
-
Stangs bear last year was the best bear hunt I've ever been on. Its pretty awesome chasing gut shot bears in the dark and having the get up and look at you from about 20 feet.
-
Getting pretty excited myself, cant wait until results come out.
-
I will get one this year. After all the hours and day's I spent afield, I can't help but run across one eventually! :chuckle:
-
Feeling pretty good about my odds. Got three points total in the hat. Put in for Monroe only.

Good luck bud!

After they took a look at the video I wonder if they are still claiming that first bear as a solid shoulder shot :chuckle:

I was thinking the same thing! I think those long range guys just automatically say that every time. Saw the best of the west guys wack an antelope in the rear one episode and same thing. They cleaned him up pretty good but you could still see where it hit.

45 days or so. I'm stoked!! Love spring bear hunting!!! Who am I kidding I just love hnting bears. LOL

Anyone else hear the guy who posing with the second bear say "it was an exciting hunt yesterday"? Apparently it takes a while to find a black bear after you shoot it at 750 yds at dusk. I will openly admit that it's better shooting than I could pull off. I just couldn't get into and question it ethically for this very reason.
I agree with BLRman, it looked like they hit it in the neck to me? That's close to a foot high and a foot to the left. You have to be one hell of a shot to do a follow up on a running wounded bear at 700yds.
Video does get me looking forward to spring bear though. I just don't plan on setting any world records on distance shooting and I hope that videos like this don't motivate the average hunter to start lobbing lead at animals because they saw some guys do it on Youtube. These guys obviouslly had the equipment and the basic know how to hunt like this. I think 200yds will work for me though, if I end up getting to hunt spring bear.
