Title: Sportsmanship show scoring
Post by: skidynastar33 on January 21, 2013, 02:50:54 PM
Does anyone have info on scoring a mount at the sportsman show this weekend? How long does it take, do u drop it off and pick up at the end? I Have a mount I thought about getting scored but don't have a lot of time and was only goin to go down there for a day or a evening.
Thanks

I am pretty sure they get flooded on weekends.  I have always dropped mine off during the week and then pick it up on the weekend to give them time to get it done.  On the NW biggame website here is a list of measurers with phone numbers. http://www.nwbiggame.com/measurers.cfm (http://www.nwbiggame.com/measurers.cfm)
It is probably easier/quicker to contact one of them and set up a time to have it measured.  If it is really big and you think you have a chance at one of the prizes then I would take it to the show and enter it.

Exactly, I like to drop mine off on Wednesday or Thursday, crowds are lighter and I can get through the show and see what I need to see in a couple of hours and head home.  Then I come back on Sunday for free and pick up my antlers just before the end of the show and take a quick look at anything that I heard about from buddies that went to the show and I missed on the first trip.

David was going to have his Swakane ram down there, I wonder if the one you saw was his.

I was wondering if that was it, real heavy all the way around.  It was on the table over by the window so I couldn't get a real good look, but from where I was standing it was a dandy.  There were some nice bull antlers out already that were all shooters for sure.  I may try to get away this weekend and stop in Sunday to see what ends up on the wall.  Nothing worth turning in this year for me, shot a nice litte 4x4 deer on the last day of late archery.  Hopefully someone will post photos of the head and horns wall from this weekend once they fill up.  That is always a good post to see for those that can't make it.

The few times I've gotten something scored I've dropped it off & come back in a few hrs & its sitting there waiting for me to pick up. Normally I give it to them as soon as they open but if you wait til later  who knows. :dunno:
