Im in the market for a new pack that will carry light, with the bow on the back. Any suggestions? The old standby is in need of an upgrade!
-
Badland 2200. It carries my bow well. Can carry gun spot scope tree stand meat etc. Not new design but good for me. It spins around on hips to access pack contents. Wears comfy. May be better ones but its pretty good itself.
-
The badlands superday carries a bow. They are the puyallup sportsmens show for $99 right now.
-
But I see you're in NE Washington so the puyallup show probably doesnt help much.
-
Ya, bit of a haul! :bash: and I'll be out of town for the show on this side in March.
-
I spent a lot of time reading and researching about this very subject. I went with the Eberlestock X2 with a buttbucket. I've packed out an elk front and rear quarter at the same time with that day pack and it carries my bow well. I couldn't be happier. My main other option was the Badlands superday and the 2200. Also a great pack, but the X2 won on every criteria I had. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the recommendation, guess I'll have to make a trip to Cabelas...darn!
-
Superday at Cabela's will probably be at least $139 without bladder.
-
Ya, I'm just going to go and see which one I like best, get hands on. Not planning to buy yet...
At least that's what I tell my wife every time! I think she's catching on though :dunno: :chuckle:

If ya go with badland2200 wait for it to pop up on camofire, will save a ton of money vs cabelas. I paid 159$. Cabelas/wholesale sports retail 269$ I think.

Never heard of camofire, but checked it out..pretty cool!
I keep running into links on here that are useful, is there a links thread were people can post their favorite websites? Might be helpful?

Badland packs are great but if your looking to stay out of the $100+ range try Walmart. It's sounds weird but they have awesome prices on good packs. I got the Feildline Pro series, Glenwood pack. I love it. It comes with a place for a bladder, carries a rifle or bow & has lots of pack space. I have had this for 2 years and it is very durable and carries more than I need. Also any tactical pack with lots of straps will allow you to carry your bow easily without spending a ton of cash. Good luck.

I have an eberlestock X1 I'd let go for $100. It's a great pack for what you're looking for.
-
The eberlestock packs have a "quick draw" system so you can access your bow without taking off the pack. I have the x1 and slingshot, both have it. My Superday is more comfortable, but harder to get at the bow.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I found the one I wan, going with the x2!

A friend of mine just picked up the Horn Hunter Full Curl pack. We've been messing with it and it fits great. Elk season will be the best test.

Did you get it yet?
I picked up the x1a1

make sure you get some of the little pouches and stuff too, haven't gotten mine dialed in yet the way I want it.
Also, with a gun and a bow + water bag filled up in there that fugger is heavy!

I promise you won't regret it. It is an incredible pack in my opinion.
