Well my buck officially is a net boone and crockett non typical buck. It netted 230 even, grossing over 239. The frame nearly netted enough to make all time book also at 188 6/8. Would have been pretty cool to have a buck that could be entered into the all time book as typical or non typical. I'm not complaining :chuckle:

 Awsome

now thats the Stud of studs ! what State ?
That there is a Washington buck, 2012.
-
Cool  Was there any other bucks there we don't know about yet?
-
I didn't see too many. They had a few back behind the table, nothing too big, and then a few on display. There was one 200" buck from WA, black powder I believe.

Looking through the current printed copy of the Washington Big Game Records Book it looks like your buck will be #14 all time in the state and the largest taken since 1985; the #13 buck was 231-3/8 taken in 1985, and the next most recent was 1971 of those scoring above yours. We see some monster bucks on here from time to time, but yours is a truly special one. Congrats!

just looked at the rack at the sportsmans show. Awesome looking rack.

I got to see it at the sportsman show today. WOW!
Great buck link.
-
That is truly an amazing deer no matter where or when it was shot, congratulations! Just curious, how old do you estimate a deer like that is? ..................WOW what a buck.
-
Amazing buck!

Wow, that's an damn nice buck man  Congrats..
-
Seeing it in person it was impressive!
-
Just curious, how old do you estimate a deer like that is?
As old as he is gonna get, not a day older. :chuckle:
-
So did you win 1st place at the show?
-
No, there were two bigger bucks there. The tripod burn buck and an old buck from the 60's from Idaho that got first I think.
-
The tripod buck was bigger than 230?
-
Tripod buck went 235, but I know what one I would shoot if they were standing next to each other.
-
Wow, saw that in person at the show when they were scoring it. Massive, so impressive, CONGRATS!
-
Congrats on one hell of a buck!!
-
Thanks for all the nice comments! When that tripod burn buck was posted on here, 220-230 was thrown out there, and I'm sure was assumed to be the gross score. Either they were posting a net score, or they just underscored it a bit. A very impressive buck for sure, up close especially. I kind of wanted to get a picture with the guy and his buck there, but there was quite a crowd gathered around him.

Well I'll tell you what Link, even though your buck was not the largest this year, you got a one in a million buck that anyone that hunts deer would be proud of, congrats again!
-
Saw it at the show. The real deal! congrats on a real world class deer!
-
Hard to believe a 230" buck was not the biggest WA buck this year.
-
Thats a beauty  Congrats on that one !
-
Hard to believe a 230" buck was not the biggest WA buck this year.
That's what I have been thinking. Same thing happened with rookie quarterbacks in the NFL this year. Who would have thought three "once in a lifetimes" in the same year.

Here is an update on my buck. Kind of an interesting piece of information. I just received word on the age of the buck. He was tooth aged at..........4 1/2 years. I knew it wasn't a real old buck, but I didn't expect him to be that young. Pretty amazing that it was only his fourth set of antlers. I don't know, what do you guys think. Do you think he could have kept growing for three, four more years?
-
Post a picture of the skull with close ups of the molars . Werent they wore way down ??
-
:yike: Thats insane!!!!!! What in gods name would he look like at 7 or 8!!!!!!!
-
congrats on a true monster!
-
  CONGRATS!!!!
-
If I'm correct, I think they said the tripod buck was around the same age. That blows my mind. Amazing genetics and great feed?
-
Wow! Ya I would have thought they were both older deer!
-
Your buck and the TRIPOD buck if let to grow would have confused people that they may be elk! :chuckle:
-
I cant imagine either of those bucks 2 years older! Daaayuuuuuum!
What a fantastic buck Link!!!!
-
you get that monster in the Desert unit?
-
I believe the 4.5 years.
But there's no way that's a pure bred mule deer.
That thing is part mule deer, part toad. :yike: :yike: :yike: :yike: :yike: :yike:
-
you get that monster in the Desert unit?
Thats the rumor. :chuckle:
-
That is crazy :yike: I would have guessed him to be atleast 6+ He does not look really old but a 4 year old :yike:
He is a amazing animal for sure.

I sometimes question the 100% accuracy of their system. They said my daughters 4x3 whitetail was 1 year old. :dunno:
-
A few years ago in the same area as the tripod fire we saw two buck the day before archery opened that we thought were elk at first, there are some really good genetics out there. We looked for a week but never saw those two bucks again.
-
Indeed it makes me wonder. I really can't see a buck like that only being 4.5. I am not a expert by any means on aging a deer. That being said I have hand my hands on more then a few deer and my gut and the looks of that deer with the face and build and mass really tell me that he should be older then that.
It's hard to tell link but how many points did he have?
-
I think their way of aging them from the incisors is pretty accurate from what I've heard. Don't they slice one and count rings or something like that?
He had 10 on one side and 12 on the other. He actually had a drop tine broken off. There was a picture of the buck taken a couple weeks before I shot him that showed him with a 6-8" dropper off that gob of junk on his right side.
-
I think I remember that with your other thread. Cool stuff! You have him at the taxi for a shoulder mount right?
If I shot a buck like that the wife would kill me because it would get life sized!
-
I'm having Charlie do it. I'm getting a floor pedestal mount done. He posted one on here a while back that is kind of what I am having done. I'm not really looking forward to the day I have to take him the antlers. :chuckle: Though, I guess that would mean the mount would be not too far from being done. It will be worth the wait from what I've seen.
-
Congrats again....what a stud of a WA muley!
-
Love the bladed tines!

No better person to mount it then Charlie. He has my stag in my avatar from 2011. I can't wait to see it done :IBCOOL: I look forward to seeing your mount as well.

Whoa. That is a real monster. Congrats.
