We had a crippled ringneck and a freakin eagle took it :bash:
-
Isn't tomorrow the last day (of the season)?
What kind of eagle?
-
No today is the 27th and today is the last day! And it was a huge bald eagle! Wish I would've taken a pic of it
-
Oh ok, I was thinking it was the 28th, but maybe that was last year.
-
Went out yesterday and killed 7 ducks and 3 geese. The next 8 months are going to suck!
-
two hunters 8 geese 7 honkers 1 lesser
-
Ended the season with 1 GWT in a late afternoon hunt because I was too lazy to get up early :chuckle: A pretty anti-climatic ended to my season but I got to sleep in, didn't have to fight for a spot, and still got a chance at some birds.
-
mixed bag for the last day
-
Nothing! :'( Got trapped between two skybusters shooting at anything they saw! So I'll cheat a little :chuckle: Got this one yesterday!
-
OK, for me it was a marathon the last 3 days. Hunted hard and it paid off. Took a full days hunt Friday to get it done and 3/4 days Sat and Sun. Friday and Saturday were hunting on the sound and today was hunting a pond on in a field. All hunts were on public land. The only field shots I have are from Fridays hunt. Fridays take was 2 pintail, 1 wigeon, and 4 teal. Saturdays limit was two pintail and 5 teal, Sundays limit was 2 pintail, 3 mallards and two teal. The field pic's are from Friday, The one pic is a partial limit taken part way through the day. I was tired enough that I just hung the birds from Saturday and will clean them with today's birds (also hanging now) this evening.
Me and my dogs are tired, but it's a good tired. This weekend goes to show that there are good places to hunt on westside public land if your willing to go where others aren't because it is a little difficult to get to. I will also say that the birds seemed well educated this weekend. They definitely have been worked over this season and were not easy birds to decoy.

Got trapped between two skybusters
There's another one? :dunno:
Today I targeted Wigeon, shot only Drakes, all feet down over the decoys. Great way to end the Season.

Very nice on the euro Wigeon. That is still one on my bucket list.
-
Nice euro
First Euro for me, I was quite surprised at the reddish head when he hit the wheat. I have shot a whole bunch of american wigeon and several other ducks worthy of hangin on the wall, but this might just be the first bird that I have mounted.

257 days... :'( not that I'm counting yet :bash: time to breakout the bow and get ready for turkey season
-
Ended the season with a limit. Spent the day at Nisqually with a good friend drinking coffee and telling tales. Good times. Gotta clean my gun and put gear away now.
-
Freezing rain over here Sunday morning.
All of our smaller water is frozen over and guys are ice fishing.
Not worth the risk dragging a boat on ice roads to get to bigger water.
Yeah, ok I'm gettin old.
Looking forward to next year already, sigh
-
I killed some targets with my bow.
-
Shot trap at two different clubs with my wife and father. I also purchased a spare trigger for my trap gun, it was a great day! My scores were not that great, but still fun! Congrats to those that made it out hunting on the last day of the season!
-
I have now finished my 40th duck season. I love being in the blind 45 minutes before day light just enjoying every minute of it. The smells, the sounds and petting a Labrador that enjoys hunting even more than me. I stash my decoys where I hunt (Private land) and the last day is hauling decoys home from 3 different locations... getting old.
I shot 2 Widgeon and 2 mallards.
-
a lot of time :bash: but this bird makes it worth it.
pete
-
1 drake mallard and almost lost it on black ice yesterday morn. Glad the season is over because I don't have to check the weather reports every day now.
-
Me and my dad got a few ducks to end of a good season... 1 gadwall, 1 teal, and a goldeneye.
-
2 mallards
1 pintail
1 gw teal

Ended my first duck hunting season with a real awesome memory. My good buddy and I are both new to the addiction this year and it was a awesome time trying to learn some of the ins and outs. We had a lot of birdless days and comically bad misses but they were still awesome days in the boat or blind. I shot 4 ducks this year and the last day of the season I got my nicest bird, and just a few hours before shooting hours ended. We barely saw anything all day, and on the way out of our spot this guy was sitting in the middle of the lake, we were on the way out convinced our last day was a bust.
Took him with my grandpas 20 gauge citori and it was a incredible way to end the season.
Sending him over to WC taxi tomorrow and cant wait to hang him up.
-
Nothing! I shot nothing!
-
Jerry the plumage on that Wigeon looks Awesome! Can't wait to work on him.
I finally after all these years was able to shoot a Shoveler Drake on the next to the last day of the season when they are fully plumed out. I don't have a field picture of him, but will be using him for the Taxidermy competitions this spring and will have pictures then.

My last day was yet another BB beat down.
