Pretty sure those sticks are designed to release....the wire pulls out and the animal can get loose.
-
The snare stick will fall off as the handle end of the cable is not locked tight.

Oh good I hope so haha, I had the same idea as the poster, was confused. It looked to me like he just got scared and dropped it :)

What was the purpose of that? It wonder into a trap that wasnt intended for it?
-
I'm sure i was not the intended animal and or the quota had been reached. :twocents:

snared around the waist....yikes. That is a lucky cat, but I'm not sure why they had the damn dogs there adding to the stress of the whole thing.

Probably to encourage the cat to go the other direction, looks like they did a good job of releasing the cat to me.

Ya- if it lived it was a good release. Better than chemical immobilization. It's dicey with cats.
-
Why didnt they release the snare? It will loosen up and fall off sure but cmon man!
-
I would not want to attempt that on my house cat. Bet the Heart rates were in high gear.
-
bet that cat wants nothing to do with man nor beast at this point.

It likely fell off in a short run after camera view. Once released from the trap, with the intent of letting the cat go, untranked... I'd have let go of the snare too. Bigger cohoney's to take time to slip that snare would have been a waste.
