Reports are stating that Chris Kyle has been killed at the training range in Texas. Makes me sick if true.
-
Who is Chris Kyle?
-
the sniper?
-
The American Sniper known for the longest and most confirmed kills.
-
Oooh yeah.
Damn
-
Hopefully they turn the POS that did it loose in the middle of the texas desert in front of a dozen or so of Kyles sniper buddies

Famed Navy SEAL Chris Kyle shot, killed in N. Texas
GLEN ROSE, Texas -- A former U.S. Navy SEAL who gained recognition during the Iraq War was one of two people fatally shot southwest of Fort Worth on Saturday, KHOU 11 News has learned.
Sources close to the investigation tell KHOU that one of the victims was Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL and author of the New York Times bestselling book, "American Sniper."
Kyle was shot point-blank while helping another soldier who is recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome.
A warning was issued for the suspect, who was believed to be driving a black Ford F-350 truck with large tires and rims.
Police have reportedly captured the suspect in Lancaster, south of Dallas. The suspect was believed to be highly trained with military experience
The shooting location is 53 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
"American Sniper" was published last year, and details Kyle's 150-plus kills of insurgents from 1999 to 2009. The book's cover refers to Kyle as "the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history."

you dont know who Chris Kyle is? Do a bit of research. He is a true American hero. prayers go out to his family.
-
Just awful
-
I sit here with a lump in my throat.
A man that put it all on the line and survived all his tours is killed when he most likely didnt expect it.
That shooter is a coward!!! I think Texas still believes in the death penalty, right?
-
THey do. Firing squad even :)
-
I say they start at his shins and work their way up
-
I remember the very last firing squad execution in Utah. It was just a year or two ago. They had some many police offers put in for it that they had to have a raffle to pick the lucky winners :IBCOOL:
-
Man that stinks ... thats why you take everyday like it is your last ...never know what is waiting around the corner ...very sad !
-
Thats not cool. He was top notch. Prayers sent for the family!
-
How sad for this to go down...prayers sent
-
I'm durprised the antis aren't all over this saying how appropriate that he lived by the gun and died by one.... :bash: I've heard his name but did not know much about him. It is unfortunate when things like this happen.
-
Wow, prayers to his family and friends.
-
Terrible loss for this country
-
I haven't read his book but I know that Marcus Luttrell, a fellow SEAL and Texan, wrote quite a bit about him in his last book Service. Damn what a loss.
-
I just read this Chris Kyle's book two months ago, what a story! God bless his family and his soul.
There is one good thing about Texas, they will seek the death penalty but that has no real justice for what this man has done for his country. Man this is a horrible waste......
-
I feel sick now. Prayers for his family. Read his book and like the guy. Really weird that this happened.
-
I met him about 6 years ago, gave a talk to our class, top notch guy. Rest in peace warrior, fair winds and following seas.
-
.
-
Prayers for his wife and kids. Fair winds and following seas indeed. :'(
-
Dam shame. Wish I had a copy of his book to read
-
RIP Shipmate! Thoughts and prayers to his family.
-
:yike: :bash:
They should have saved the taxpayers money and just shot the SOB while resisting arrest. :hunter:
-
Man that stinks ... thats why you take everyday like it is your last ...never know what is waiting around the corner ...very sad !
... thats why you take everyday like it is your last ...
:yeah:
RIP Chris

A former Navy SEAL, author of the best-selling autobiography "American Sniper," was one of two people killed Saturday at a gun range, authorities said.
Chris Kyle, 38, who declared himself the "most lethal sniper in U.S. history," was killed along with 35-year-old Chad Littlefield on Saturday afternoon in Glen Rose, Texas, southwest of Fort Worth, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
Police arrested suspect Eddie Ray Routh, 25, after a brief pursuit. He is facing two counts of capital murder, the department said.
Kyle, an outspoken advocate for war veterans, claimed more than 150 sniper killings in Iraq, which he described as a record for any American. He said insurgents placed a bounty on his head and nicknamed him "the devil."
SEAL: Insurgents knew how to identify me
Ex-Navy sniper killed at Texas gun range He appeared last year on the NBC reality show "Stars Earn Stripes," in which competitors took on missions based on military exercises.
"He was a man of incredible character, he led by example," Jason Kos, a friend of Kyle's, told CNN. "He always stopped to take time to talk to whoever was around him. Just incredibly humble, very funny as well."
Kyle helped establish the nonprofit Fitco Cares Foundation to enable veterans battling post-traumatic stress syndrome get access to exercise equipment.
In a statement, the foundation described Kyle as an "American hero" and pledged to carry on his mission.
Kyle served four combat tours in Iraq and received two Silver Stars, among other commendations.
He left the Navy in 2009.
During an interview with Time magazine last year, Kyle defended his decision to write a book despite the secretive nature of the SEAL world.
"It's kind of frowned on," he told the magazine. "But I'm not trying to glorify myself. I didn't want to put the number of kills I had in there. I wanted to get it out about the sacrifices military families have to make."
He said that while killing did not come easy at first, he knew it meant saving lives.
"The first time, you're not even sure you can do it," he said in the interview. "But I'm not over there looking at these people as people. I'm not wondering if he has a family. I'm just trying to keep my guys safe. Every time I kill someone, he can't plant an (improvised explosive device). You don't think twice about it."
Before becoming a sniper, Kyle was a Texas rodeo cowboy. He started shooting as a child during hunting trips with his father.
After leaving the military, he founded Craft International, a military training company.
His bio on the company website says that in addition to working with the SEALs, he served with units in the Army and Marines.
His combat experience includes close-quarters battle, desert patrols and training foreign allies, it says.

I met him at Thunder Ranch.

-
How true.
from the Palins
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and many friends of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle tonight. Todd and I first met Chris in Pella, Iowa, when he helped out with security for the premiere of the film “The Undefeated.” And later we became friends with Chris when he was on “Stars Earn Stripes” with Todd. Chris was a wonderful man, a good friend, and a true American hero who loved our country and served honorably. He was loved and admired by so many, and he will never be forgotten.

It really is tragic this has happened just like all the other shootings going on but of course the media puts in the for front a gun was used. The mental stability of the person is just a foot note.

This article is wrong and does Chris a disservice.
All his kills were witnessed and recorded as per requirement. There is no "Self Proclaimed" He was the most efficient Sniper in US military history.
Thank you for your service Chris, you were one of a kind.

Terrible loss! A true American Hero lost.
His book is great, from the book and the interviews I have seen with him he seems like a very humble guy. His book and Lone Survivor ar the best two books I have read. Marcus Luttrel talks about Chris quite a bit in his book Service (I am about half way through it, another good read) Chris saved a lot of our service men over there.
R.I.P Chris Kyle

Rip he was a true american hero
One thingni don't understand is on a range how dose a guy walk up and shoot a highly trained seal sniper?
Sorry to bring that up but I must not of heard the full story I'm sure if he seen it coming it would have turned out all diffrent
-
The news update came across my phone at work the other day. Terrible news to read. I was greatly looking forward to getting to shake that mans hand at SHOT next year. I also have to agree with Alchase that the article makes him sound like a glory hound, from which I have seen none of in the articles and interviews.
RIP CPO Kyle

Just finished his book. Very good. Like everyone have said that we have lost a true hero.
-
Eddie Ray Routh convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole yesterday. The insanity defense didn't work.
Marcus Luttrell responded via social media.
In a post distributed on Facebook and Twitter, Luttrell said justice was served in the case and warned Routh, 27, to “Wait till the boys in TDC Find out you killed a TX hero.” It’s an apparent reference to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, which handles prisoners.
-
The dude may find life in gen. pop. difficult. Just sayin.....

Good, I hope the POS hates everyday for the rest of his worthless, miserable life. I have mixed emotions on his verdict, I really wanted him to die but spending the rest of his life in prison with NO chance of parole sounds pretty good. I'm just really glad the trial got over quickly and not drug on for years. Hopefully his wife and family can rest knowing the most evil person in their life is done! RIP Chris.
-
I didn't follow the trial much but can't figure out what the dudes problem was. Going to the range with Chris Kyle would be as exciting as going on a bow hunt with Fred Bear or a photography shoot with Ansel Adams. What the heck can you be mad about?
-
Jealousy maybe? What a pos!!!! I wish they would have given him the death penalty and made it slow! After watching the movie it broke my heart even more! RIP Chris Kyle, you are a true American hero and i will never forget your accomplishments and bravery! I hope you tame the toughest broncs ever up there! Load heavy and shoot strait!
