Just picked up another Marlin 17 HMR for my son and wanted a little input on this scope from
Anyone who has one or used one.Or should I keep looking?
I have a Bushnell. 6x24x50 on my HMR. But figure my sons eye sight is better then mine.
I love it and I can not begin to tell you how accurate it is. One of my favorite guns to shoot
Little grain of rice bullet really reaches out there!

I looked at the BSA for my daughters Savage 93 .17hmr, it looked like a nice scope. I went with the Cabelas Pine Ridge .17 Tactical SF6-18x40 instead and have zero regrets. In Montana I was dialing in praire dogs at 300 yards and LMAO.

My friend has one on his .17 hmr, adjustments works well and easy, plus it almost shooting dimes at 100 yds . Next session we will have it concurred . He paid $49.99 at cabelas on sale.

I have one on my 17 and have been happy with it. My buddy had a more expensive one on his 17 and had nothing but problems with it. I get the feeling that BSA doesnt have the best quality control...If you buy a scope form them you might get a good one or you could end up with a lemon...IMO.

Thats a good point and one of the reasons I went with the Cabelas brand, their customer service has always been excellent for me. :twocents:

Incidently I picked up a Ruger 10/22 today and will be picking up the same scope designed for the .22LR, just to show you that I am pleased with its performance.

I bought a CZ .17HMR rifle with a sweet 17 scope on it, and it seems to be a good scope. Last year I was shooting Ground Squirrels with it, and it looked like I was shooting over them. Looked at the elevation dial, and it was set to 300 yards. Cranked it down to the 100 yard setting, and never missed after that! :chuckle:
I was going to replace the scope with a better one, but as long as the Sweet 17 works good, I don't think it's worth bothering with...

I had a BSA on mine. It was all right , switched to the same one as Huntnphool. So glad I did .

When I bought my Savgae 93 I had the choice of a sweet .17 or a centerpoint. The centerpoint was way clearer. But once I dialed it up to the higher magnifications it started to blur. I was still shooting dimes at a 10 yards. Shot the tack that held my target up and a yellow jacket that landed on my target at 100 yards too. Killed a 1/2 dozen grouse with it by shooting their heads off. But they were all within about 50 yards.Still think I'm going to get 1 of the pine ridge scopes though.

Thanks you guys I am going to check both the Sweet 17 and the Cabelas scope.
I will let you know which one sold me

my sweet 17 works great

I have the bsa and its nice but that pine ridge looks even better!

I have the BSA on one of my .17's, and would highly recommend the Cabela's scope over it any day. I would have sold and switched, but that gun just collects dust in the safe. I personally wished they'd design one for shooting 10-100 yds for grouse. The .17 is so quick, that the POI is nearly 2" from 10-60yds.

My Ruger M77 .17 came with one. Apparently the scope was smarter than I was. It came off and now has a bushnell Trophy 4-12 on it. But I have heard other people love them once they get it dialed in, can be difficult IMO.

I bought the Sweet 17 and decided to mount it.
Only to find my shop was Burgurlarized last night.
What I do no understand is the stuff they took was just a bunch of
Crap,So I got lucky and I am thinking it was local kids because of what was taken.
They did take the new BSA 17 so I am bumming there.I still have all my tools and
Compressor and my little Buzz BoxBut I am out a XBox!
Maybe I will find out who did it The way I look at it was a Big wake up.
