3. Yes, but the tent camping is about a quarter mile walk to the beach......you can pitch a tent on the water during the day and stuff, but you would have to move it by nightfall.

Don't know which DRock you guys are talking about, but the one I fished with a couple weeks ago and the one that gets back in my boat on the 20th was one tough donut-hole eatin, big lingcod killin' son-a-gun. Meaner than a boy named Sue.

Two tanks of gas in the truck for the 600 mile round trip. Fuel for the boat. Food money. daily cost on an out of town trip with road traveling involved, etc. Need to build the play funs back up, then will be able to make an event, or better yet, host one on this side of the state.

Hey we have a table and a pop-up canopy to add to the list. Our crab rings aren't setup for boats they're just rings we'll be tossing off a dock or something that's there :)

What time are most of the folks going?
Are we bringing some extra dogs, buns, and chips and having a kind of grill your own at the site?

I'm planning on making the run from Everett with my boy and the boat and having the wife and daughter meet us there whenever.
I know Ripper and the family will be there early so I am assumming this is a morning/lunch kind of shin dig.

HRD2FND- Have you been contacted about people camping out at your place? Is there going to be an after the event party out there? There is no alcohol allowed in Kayak Point unless you are discrete.
Here is a rough schedule of events.
7:00am- park opens
7-9 am- people arrive and things get set up, mingle, everyone with crab pots get's to set them.
9-12- check pots, rebait, fish, mingle, tell lies, snack, crab cleaning contest
1-3 pm or so- cook and eat crab and other food people brought, tell more lies, plan a party for later on that eve, possibly out at hrd2fnds place.
3-5pm- clean up, collect gear, present award for biggest flounder(length +width=X), present golden driftwood award for the boat bringing in the most crab.
Whoever else has ideas or contest you want to add, feel free to do so. Everything is subject to change. Having fun and meeting new people is the main goal.
There are grills there, so I would say yes, bring some dogs or whatever else to grill. I will bring my Colman stove also. Need to melt butter.

He answered you because two pages ago your question was already discussed and stated that the park opens at 7 so to get good parking, show up then. Then a few members agreed and also said they were getting there at 7. So I'm assuming Smossy felt confident enough to answer you based on the simple fact that it was already answered in this thread so therefore he didn't actually need to have prior experience with the park itself... I would have answered you as well, even without being there prior. Moving on....

I have some bad news, but I'm hoping not too bad. After fishing today with Kola, his dad and Tharius, I had to go to the Dr because I have a fever. I've had some mouth pain lately and my throat swelled up. The Dr gave me some antibiotics and some pain meds so I feel a little better right now. I don't know how I'm going to feel tomorrow, but I will be there, I just don't know if I will be there as early as I planned. As far as side dishes, Smossy, tater salad is perfect. If everyone just brings a salad of some kind or a dessert, we will be fine. I will post some pics of fish we caught today in a little bit, I have to get the camera out of the boat. Fishing was kind of slow but Tharius caught a 24" Blackmouth and Kola pulled in a big fatty about 14-15lbs. Very nice fish.Sad story, Feel better buddy. Glad u guys atleast hooked into something. Well see you tomorrow, What time I have no idea.

Hey Hd2fnd, Are there plans for a party at your place for later in the eve?nothing has been mentioned, and I haven't been home this week so the house isn't suitable for company at least to the wife's satisfaction.
This isn't to say we can't hang outside. Could be fun except for no bonfire due to burn ban on the rez, but so a small camp fire would be ok.

I want to thank Ripper for organizing the 1st annual Hunt-WA Crab outing. :tup: And a special thanks for showing up sick and taking a few of us out on his boat. (that didn't sound right). Ripper was sick, and on meds, but still showed up to help others enjoy the day. :bow: :bow:
I've been trying to post some pictures, but for some reason I'm not having success. I'll try again tomorrow.
It was a great day and it was nice to see some little ones having such fun.
