Just starting to reload and was wondering about Ramshot powders, I have only talked to one guy and he liked it alot. He said it burns very clean. Any thoughts?

Ramshot powders are very clean burning and temperature stable. I use quite a bit of Ramshot, especially Xterminator for .223 rounds, and True Blue for pistol rounds. Lately I've been using 8208 XBR powder for some of the mid-sized case wildcats. It's an IMR powder that was brought back due to popular demand by benchrest shooters. Gives the best accuracy in some calibers. :twocents:

I've used a ton of Ramshot powders. Mostly Hunter and Tac. Very good results with both.
-
I have used Ramshot Hunter and Magnum, with good results... I have some TAC, that works awesome in .308 and .223
-
Xterminator is the best powder that I've found for the 30-30.
-
In the .223, I've found that Xterminator is good for bullets of 55 grains and lighter. TAC is better for the heavier bullets 60 grain and up. You can go to their website and print out their latest load data. They are always adding new calibers and data....

I load Hunter in my .243, pours great and groups great as long as I don't try to make it a a magnum!
-
I ran magnum and hunter and found it to be inconsistent......based on my findings 6-7years ago. I haven't been back since.

Thanks for the info, What powder would you suggest. Im shooting a 7mm rem mag and looking at the Barnes 140gr TSX BT pretty hard.
-
My most current load data for Ramshot (edition 4.5) lists Magnum for the 140 grain Barnes bullets in the 7mm mag. Like I said, go to the Ramshot website and download their latest load data. Mine might be obsolete by now... Also, the bullet manufacturers have load data published for their bullets, too. That's where I learned that the Barnes 36 grain bullets for my 22 K-Hornet didn't work--I couldn't even get them on the paper. When I went to the Barnes site and looked up the Hornet load data, I found that the only bullet they recommended was the 30 grainers.

Ramshot TAC is my go-to powder for .223.
I like 25.2gr under a 55gr Hornady FMJ.

Competition is the old AA plus, so I hear. Thought about using this powder for trap shooting. Good things I have herd about Ramshot.

I have used TAC and xterminator with great results!
